Last week, former Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters’ appeals were heard by a Colorado appellate court.  During the hearing, Senior Assistant Attorney General Lisa Michaels was grilled by the judges regarding several issues with Peters’ trial and her sentencing.

Those issues revolved around the failure to articulate a “benefit” for one of her felony charges, an essential element of the charge.  Another argument was that the jury was instructed that one charge was a felony but the inclusion of the word “might” was applicable only to a misdemeanor charge, as mentioned in the clip below.

The judges also grilled the sentencing remarks from the trial judge, Matthew Barrett, for considering conduct that was not charged and was not permitted to be presented in her case, specifically regarding whether or not there had been election fraud in Mesa County or Colorado.

Peters now has additional problems following the seemingly successful appellate hearing.  She is being accused of allegedly assaulting a fellow inmate on Sunday evening.

According to Tina Peters' official X account, she was "assaulted by another inmate at approximately 9pm MT in La Vista Correctional Facility."

Peters was inside a maintenance closet filling up a water unit when she was struck by another inmate.  Peters "raised her hands and pushed the inmate away," an incident which was caught on camera, but apparently did not capture the assault that took place inside the closet.

As a result, she was shackled and brought to solitary confinement and informed that she was being charged with felony assault.

Peters, a 70 year-old Gold Star mom with no criminal record was convicted of non-violent crimes and sentenced to nine years in a Colorado prison in October 2024.

During the appellate hearing last week, her attorney argued that Peters was being held in a medium-security prison with "murders" and other violent offenders because Colorado only has four minimum-security prisons, all of which are designated for men.

In a fiery post on Truth Social on Sunday, President Donald Trump unleashed on Rep. Ilhan Omar, accusing her of being deeply involved in Minnesota’s Somali fraud scandal.

Trump didn’t hold back, labeling Omar a “fake ‘Congresswoman’” who “hates the USA” and suggesting she deserves jail time—or worse, deportation back to Somalia.

Trump wrote:

“There is 19 Billion Dollars in Minnesota Somalia Fraud. Fake “Congresswoman” Illhan Omar, a constant complainer who hates the USA, knows everything there is to know. She should be in jail, or even a worse punishment, sent back to Somalia, considered one of the absolutely worst countries in the World. She could help to MAKE SOMALIA GREAT AGAIN!”

The post had nearly 50,000 likes by Monday afternoon.

Omar is a Somali-born refugee who became a U.S. citizen in 2000 and has represented Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District since 2019.

She has long been plagued by accusations of immigration fraud, as she married her own brother so he could gain citizenship.

The congresswoman has also amassed mysterious extreme wealth over the last few years, raising suspicion of her involvement in widespread fraud in Minnesota’s social services programs, particularly in the Somali communities. Reports show her net worth skyrocketed from under $1 million in 2023 to as much as $30 million by 2025, a 3,500% increase.

Meanwhile, federal prosecutors have been cracking down on what appears to be one of the largest COVID-19 relief scams in the nation.

Since 2022, charges have been filed against nearly 100 individuals, most of Somali descent, in connection with stealing hundreds of millions from child nutrition programs like Feeding Our Future.

Convictions so far total over $1 billion in stolen taxpayer funds, but estimates suggest the total fraud could exceed $18 billion across various state programs since 2018.

In late December, the Trump administration froze federal funding for Minnesota’s childcare and small business programs following allegations of massive abuse, including claims that fraudulent daycares run by Somali residents siphoned off up to $100 million.

A federal prosecutor alleged that half or more of the $18 billion in Medicaid and other funds may have been pilfered, with some money reportedly funneled overseas to groups like Al-Shabaab, a U.S.-designated terrorist organization.

A far-left agitator who stormed a St. Paul church and harassed parishioners on Sunday is now taunting the DOJ and challenging federal prosecutors to come and get him.

William Kelly, a well-known leftist agitator, charged into Cities Church on Sunday as Don Lemon livestreamed the crime.

Kelly got in the face of parishioners on Sunday.

He later compared storming the church to Jesus flipping over tables in the Temple.

Worshippers and children were absolutely terrified as William Kelly, BLM activist Nikema Armstrong and Don Lemon interrupted the service and shouted down the pastor.

This is not peaceful protest. This is an invasion of a sacred space. Anti-ICE agitators disrupted Cities Church in the middle of service.

US Attorney General Pam Bondi said the DOJ has launched an investigation for potential violations of the federal FACE Act.

Harmeet Dhillon, the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the Department of Justice, on Monday announced that the DOJ plans to charge Don Lemon and others under the Ku Klux Klan Act.

After storming the church, William Kelly taunted Bondi.

“Yesterday, I went into a church with Nikema Armstrong and I protested these white supremacists!” he said. “The pastor of the church is a f*cking ICE leader in the city?!”

“They want to come after me? F*ck em!” he said. “F*ck those f*cking Nazis! Come and get me, Pam Bondi! You f*cking traitorous b*tch!”
