Hundreds of anti-ICE leftists, including approximately 100 clergy members, stormed the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) on Friday, leading to mass arrests and major disruptions for travelers.

The protest against the ICE operations in Minnesota was quite large, even though the temperature was below zero.

According to reports, the agitators blocked access points and infuriated passengers already facing uncertain travel due to the approaching storm and frigid weather.

Far-left religious activist group “Faith in Minnesota” posted a video of members being arrested, claiming “over 100 clergy and faith leaders were arrested,” during the stunt.

The organization wrote in one of the posts:

“In -20° weather, over 100 clergy and faith leaders were arrested at MSP Airport as they gathered in peaceful, prayerful resistance to demand airlines — especially Delta and Signature Aviation — stand with Minnesotans and say #ICEOutOfMN.

Over 2,000 deportations have gone through MSP. Workers have been detained by ICE at work and while commuting. This must end.”

Law enforcement confirmed to Fox 9 that over 100 people were arrested but have since been released.

Fox 9 reports:

Those arrested were issued misdemeanor citations for trespassing and failure to comply with a peace officer, according to a Metropolitan Airport Commission (MAC) spokesperson.

The Metropolitan Airports Commission told FOX 9 it “worked in advance with event organizers to best accommodate their right to freedom of expression while also ensuring uninterrupted operations at MSP Airport. The approved demonstration permit set a dedicated location and maximum number of participants to maintain the safety of protesters, passengers and airport employees.

“When the permitted activity went beyond the agreed-upon terms, MSP Airport Police began taking necessary action, including arrests, to protect public safety, airport security and access to Terminal 1.”

Ahead of Friday morning’s protest, airlines were encouraging travelers to get to the airport at least three hours before their flight due to planned demonstrations outside the airport.

The demonstration was tied to ongoing protests against ICE’s “Operation Metro Surge,” a targeted crackdown that has led to the arrest of numerous criminal illegal aliens in the Twin Cities area, including pedophiles, domestic abusers, and gang members.

The incident took place outside Harvest Christian Fellowship, where attendees were met with shouts, whistles, and intimidation tactics from the mob.

The event was the launch of the “Make Heaven Crowded” tour, hosted by TPUSA Faith and megachurch pastor Greg Laurie.

The event, aimed at promoting faith, repentance, and spiritual awakening, drew a large crowd to the Riverside campus of Harvest Christian Fellowship.

However, the peaceful gathering was quickly overshadowed by agitators chanting “shame” and blowing whistles at families entering the church.

In one particularly unhinged moment, a protester shouted at a woman holding her baby boy, saying “f-ck that child” and urging her to drop him.

The church, founded by Pastor Greg Laurie, is one of the largest evangelical congregations in the U.S., known for its large-scale events.

Six protesters who barricaded themselves inside the lobby area of San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria’s office were removed by police Friday evening. The protesters demanded a meeting with the mayor, calling for Immigration and Customs Enforcement to be removed from the San Diego community.

The group has been occupying the space since 9 a.m. Friday, putting up their own sign calling the area “The People’s Office.” After spending the morning trying to secure a meeting with Gloria, the protesters began chanting and demonstrating in the afternoon when no meeting was granted.

Around 2 p.m., the group barricaded the doors to the lobby area, which sits between the mayor’s actual office and the building entrance, and issued their formal demands.

Mayor Gloria, a Democrat who has positioned San Diego as a sanctuary city, issued a strongly worded statement condemning the action.

“This morning, a group of individuals arrived at my office demanding to meet with me and staged a sit-in. What transpired later went beyond peaceful protest,” the statement reads.

“These individuals chose to raid the front desk to my office, bang on the doors that intended to force entry, and then barricaded the doors, creating a public safety hazard. That conduct is unacceptable – full stop.”

Gloria added that his staff had already met with the group last week to discuss concerns about ICE activity and local law enforcement’s role. He reiterated his administration’s policy, “In my State of the City address last week, and through the executive order I signed in July, I made it clear that the San Diego Police Department does not participate in federal immigration enforcement. That policy is in writing, it is enforced, and it is exactly what these protesters are asking for.”

The mayor emphasized that such tactics won’t be tolerated, even though he is sympathetic to their extremist views.

“No matter how strongly someone feels, obstructing the public’s business and intimidating City employees is not how change is made. I will not be coerced, and I will not tolerate behavior that puts hardworking City staff or the public at risk.”

It is unclear if any of the extremists have been charged.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) has broken with precedent by voting to hold a convention during the 2026 midterm cycle.

Members of the committee voted to approve the rule change on Friday, paving the way for the convention to take place later this year.

Bill O’Brien, the national committeeman from New Hampshire, said the vote allows them to “conduct a special ceremonial convention between presidential conventions, such as a midterm convention.

“President Trump has expressed interest in holding that convention,” he added.

Politico provides further details:

The amendment was approved at the RNC’s winter meeting with no objections. An unusually high number of RNC members had already left the meeting to catch early flights ahead of winter storms bearing down on much of the country by the time the vote was brought up.

National party conventions have typically been held only during presidential elections in the modern era. But President Donald Trump announced in September that the party would be holding a “Midterm Convention,” leaving the party scrambling to execute.

The event would give Republicans an opportunity to message the administration’s wins and platform candidates in battleground races across the country as they fight to hold onto congressional control.

Democrats, who held a series of midterm-year national conventions in the 1970s, are also flirting with the possibility. At the Democratic National Committee’s winter meetings in Los Angeles last month, officials from Nebraska and Utah were among those jockeying to host the potential event.

A location for the event has not yet been confirmed, although Las Vegas has been announced as a possible venue.

President Trump first floated the idea last August, saying that the party was poised to “WIN BIG IN THE MIDTERMS” because of the successes of his political agenda.

“We have raised far more money than the Democrats, and are having a great time fixing all of the Country Destroying mistakes made by the Biden Administration, and watching the USA heal and prosper,” Trump wrote at the time.

“The results are incredible, a record pace!!! In that light, I am thinking of recommending a National Convention to the Republican Party, just prior to the Midterms.”
