Russia Limits Access to Social Media Platform Telegram as It Pushes State-Run ‘Super-App’ Called Max – UPDATE: WhatsApp and YouTube Fully Blocked by Moscow

Russia turns on Telegram.
All around the world, social media companies are under pressure from state actors, and our hard-won freedom of speech is under threat in the process.
Case in point: Russia.
Having banned US platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and X, and limited access to YouTube, the Russian government now turns on Telegram – a very popular app used by Russian soldiers and war correspondents.
Yesterday (11), Russia’s communications watchdog, Roskomnadzor, started limiting access to Telegram.
Bloomberg reported:
“Measures to slow down access to the messenger service have already begun, the news service reported, citing another person familiar that it didn’t identify. RBC said it sent a request for comment to Roskomnadzor.
The government has been promoting the use of a state-run ‘super-app’ called Max, modeled after China’s WeChat, at the same time as it has choked off access to foreign messenger services. As well as messaging, Max hosts government services and enables document storage, banking and other public and commercial services.”
“The authorities in Moscow began imposing selective restrictions on Telegram in late 2025, including limiting some functions such as voice and video calls on the service co-founded by Russian billionaire Pavel Durov.”
UPDATE: News is breaking that Russia has now totally banned WhatsApp and Youtube, too.

DEVELOPING: Investigators Find Black Glove Near Nancy Guthrie’s Home

In a potential major break in the case, investigators found a black glove near Nancy Guthrie’s home that looks similar to the one worn by the creepy person seen in the surveillance video on Guthrie’s front porch.
According to the New York Post, the black glove was found about 1.5 miles from Nancy Guthrie’s home in Pima County, Arizona.
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was abducted from her home last weekend.
Police confirmed that the blood drops found on the front porch belong to Nancy Guthrie.
Investigators did not release any details about the black glove.
The New York Post reported:
Investigators have recovered a black glove from a roadside near Nancy Guthrie’s house — potentially a major clue in the search for the masked thug who is suspected of abducting the 84-year-old woman, The Post can reveal.
Detectives recovered the clothing item, which resembles the pair worn by the armed perpetrator caught on video, about one and a half miles from Guthrie’s home.
Video and photos show investigators pulling the glove from the low, desert shrubbery in Guthrie’s secluded desert suburb at the edge of Tucson.
Authorities have not identified any suspects behind the presumed kidnapping, in which Guthrie seems to have been forced from her home, leaving a trail of blood behind.
On Tuesday, the FBI released photos and video of a masked subject in the Guthrie abduction case.

Democrat Rep. Becca Balint screamed at Pam Bondi and stormed out of the congressional hearing on Wednesday.
US Attorney General Pam Bondi testified at a House Judiciary Committee hearing on the Epstein files, fatal shootings of two anti-ICE agitators and more.
Bondi clashed with several Democrat lawmakers as they interrupted her remarks.
At one point, Democrat Rep. Becca Balint lost her mind and began shouting at Bondi.
Bondi was asked whether Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick lying about his connection with Epstein is a dealbreaker for the Trump Administration.
Bondi responded with suggesting Rep. Balint is anti-Semitic.
“You know, with this anti-Semitic culture right now. She voted against a resolution condemning anti-Semitism,” Bondi said to Balint, whose grandfather died in the Holocaust.
Balint started shouting at Bondi, got up and stormed out of the hearing.
“Oh! Oh! Do you want to go there?!” Balint shouted. “Do you want to go there? Are you serious?!”
