There was a Senate confirmation hearing today for Trump’s nominee for surgeon general, Dr. Casey Means.

During the course of the hearing, GOP Senator Markwayne Mullin on Oklahoma laid out the facts about Obamacare and the rising costs of healthcare. At one point, far-left crank Bernie Sanders decided to rudely interject. It was the wrong decision.

Senator Mullin shut Bernie down not once, but twice. It was a thing of beauty.

RedState has details:

Following Bernie’s questioning of Means, Mullin began his allotted time by noting the former presidential candidate’s love of the Affordable Care Act, which he correctly reclassified as “unaffordable.”

“No, I support a national healthcare program which would cut the —” Sanders said before Mullin countered: “I’m sorry, it’s my time.”

“You’re going to attack me, I’m going to respond,” Sanders insisted.

“Nah, I’m pointing out facts!” Mullin continued. “You can say what you want, I’m just pointing out facts.”

Mullin continued on with his comments before pivoting to asking questions for the Surgeon General nominee.

“I ranted too long,” Mullin paused.

“Yes, you did!” Sanders shouted…

“I’m sorry. I didn’t ask your opinion on that. And if I cared about your opinion, I would ask you, but I don’t care about your opinion. You’re part of the system. You’re part of the problem. You’ve been sitting here longer than I’ve even been alive,” Mullin fired back.

“This is your problem. You should have fixed this a long time ago,” he said of the woefully broken health care system. “You’ve been … on it so long, what have you been doing?”

Watch the whole video below, this is great:

Bernie Sanders IS part of the problem and this does not get said out loud nearly often enough.

Like so many other members of the Senate, Bernie is way past retirement age but simply refuses to go away. On the contrary, he continues to wield undue influence over the Democrat Party, which he isn’t even a member of.

Kudos to Senator Mullin for calling him out. More Republicans should consider doing the same once in a while.

OUTRAGEOUS: Florida House Democrats Oppose Bill Honoring TPUSA Founder Charlie Kirk — Insist He Was “Not Assassinated,” but Died from “Gun Violence”

Rep. Ashley Viola Gantt

The radical Left’s hatred for conservative heroes apparently follows them even to the grave.

In a disgusting display of partisan spite, Florida House Democrats spent Wednesday afternoon attempting to block a bill that would honor the late Turning Point USA founder and conservative icon Charlie Kirk.

Despite Kirk being gunned down in cold blood while exercising his First Amendment rights at a rally in Utah last September, Florida Democrats took to the floor to argue that the man who inspired millions of young patriots was “mediocre” and, wait for it, was not actually “assassinated.”

Instead, these radical lawmakers insisted that the targeted political killing of a prominent conservative leader should merely be classified as “gun violence.”

The bill, HB 125, which designates October 14 as “Charlie Kirk Day of Remembrance,” was sponsored by Rep. Yvette Benarroch (R-Marco Island).

Benarroch described the bill as a tribute to a man who “encouraged a generation to read the Constitution and love this great country.”

The measure cleared the chamber by a vote of 82–31, with nearly all opposition coming from Democrats.

But during committee deliberations, Florida House Democrats took issue with language describing Kirk’s death as an assassination, instead insisting it should be categorized more broadly as an act of “gun violence.”

Democrat State Rep. Ashley Viola Gantt openly objected to the bill’s wording.

Rep. Ashley Viola Gantt:
“We want to talk about the exercise of free speech. Let’s ball.

The First Amendment protects free speech. We don’t need this day of remembrance for a man who was mediocre and racist—I say mediocre at best. He was not a Floridian. He had no ties to Florida other than owning property. We have a number of Floridians—both individuals and organizations—that promote free speech that is not divisive like this individual was.

If we want to talk about free speech, let’s talk about being precise with our words. When we hear “assassination,” that’s typically related to a person in a political position. Charlie Kirk died from gun violence. We continuously advocate for gun policy—legislation that would ensure that people who probably shouldn’t have a gun don’t have a gun.

Was his passing tragic for those who loved him? Absolutely. There is no denying that. But he was not assassinated, and words being accurate matters. It was a death by gun violence. That is an issue here in the country that we should all be on the same page about addressing.

And if we want to talk about free speech, a lot of people say, “That was some white-on-white crime.” Why aren’t we addressing it in that regard? What are we doing about white-on-white crime? So, Charlie Kirk was not someone whom children in the state of Florida should be subjected to honoring.”

Trump Actually Gained Support During SOTU Speech Reports… CNN (VIDEO)
February 25, 2026

Screencap of Twitter/X video.

Last night after Trump’s State of the Union address, CNN did some snap polling and found that Trump actually gained support during the course of the speech.

Can you even imagine how upsetting this news must be for Democrats?

David Chalian revealed that 64 percent of people who watched the speech believe that Trump’s policies will move the country in the right direction.

All the Democrat noise about the speech is simply that. Noise.

The Washington Examiner reports:

President Donald Trump‘s record-breaking State of the Union speech Tuesday night resonated with more than 6 in 10 prime-time viewers, according to a flash CNN poll.

The survey, conducted by SSRS, showed 64% of respondents had a very or somewhat positive reaction to Trump’s address, which lasted nearly two hours and was the first of his second term. By contrast, just 36% said they had a somewhat negative or very negative response.

In more positive news for Trump, 65% said they had a lot or some confidence in Trump’s ability to provide “real leadership” for the country, compared to the 35% who said they had no confidence.

The poll also found that 64% believe the policies Trump proposed will move the country in the right direction, with another 36% saying the policies would move the nation in the wrong direction.

During his speech, Trump called on lawmakers to ban institutional investors from buying up single-family homes, asked for them to codify his executive order giving “most favored nation” pricing for prescription drugs, and supported a crackdown on insider trading by members of Congress.

See the clip below:

Note how Jake Tapper had to interject with a comment about ‘red meat’ for the base. He is incapable of getting through a segment about Trump without saying something snarky and obnoxious.

Trump’s speech was very effective, not just in highlighting his policies, but for revealing the Democrats to be complete lunatics.

U.S. politician delivering a speech in front of an American flag, wearing a blue suit and red tie, emphasizing key issues.

On Wednesday, the Cuban military fired on a US-registered boat that entered Cuban waters, killing 4 passengers and injuring 6 others.

The Cuban government claimed the passengers on the Florida-registered boat opened fire on the Cuban soldiers first and injured a Cuban officer.

It was initially unclear if any Americans were aboard the vessel.

It appears the US vessel was carrying Cubans who lived in the US.

Per the Cuban Embassy in US:

On the morning of February 25, 2026, a violating speedboat was detected within Cuban territorial waters. The vessel, registered in Florida, United States, with registration number FL7726SH, approached up to 1 nautical mile northeast of the El Pino channel, in Cayo Falcones, Corralillo municipality, Villa Clara province.

When a surface unit of the Border Guard Troops of the Ministry of the Interior, carrying five service members, approached the vessel for identification, the crew of the violating speedboat opened fire on the Cuban personnel, resulting in the injury of the commander of the Cuban vessel.

As a consequence of the confrontation, as of the time of this report, four aggressors on the foreign vessel were killed and six were injured. The injured individuals were evacuated and received medical assistance.

In the face of current challenges, Cuba reaffirms its determination to protect its territorial waters, based on the principle that national defense is a fundamental pillar of the Cuban State in safeguarding its sovereignty and ensuring stability in the region.

The New York Times reported the US vessel was part of a flotilla to ‘get relatives out of Cuba.’

“A U.S. official said the firefight involved a U.S. civilian boat that was part of flotilla to get relatives out of Cuba, adding that the vessel was not U.S. Naval or Coast Guard boat,” The New York Times reported.

Later Wednesday, Cuba said the 10 passengers were Cubans living in the US.

“Cuba’s government said late Wednesday that the 10 passengers on a boat that opened fire on its soldiers were armed Cubans living in the U.S. who were trying to infiltrate the island and unleash terrorism,” AP reported.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio responded to the Cuban firefight involving a US vessel.

Rubio, who is currently in St. Kitts and Nevis, a small island in the Caribbean, said he doesn’t believe the official narrative coming out of Cuba.

“We’re going to find out exactly what happened here and then we’ll respond accordingly,” Rubio said.

JUST IN: DOJ Announces Arrest of Former US Air Force Pilot for Training Chinese Military Pilots

JUST IN: DOJ Announces Arrest of Former US Air Force Pilot for Training Chinese Military Pilots
February 25, 2026

The Department of Justice on Wednesday announced that a former US Air Force Pilot was arrested for training Chinese military pilots.

Gerald Eddie Brown, Jr., 65, was arrested Wednesday in Jeffersonville, Indiana, the DOJ said.

The 24-year Air Force veteran was “charged by criminal complaint for providing and conspiring to provide defense services to Chinese military pilots without authorization, in violation of the Arms Export Control Act (AECA).”

“As alleged in the complaint, since at least in or around August 2023, Brown willfully conspired with foreign nationals and U.S. persons to provide combat aircraft training to pilots in the Chinese Air Force, known as the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). This training was a defense service under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Brown, a U.S. person under the ITAR, lacked the required license from the State Department’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) to provide that training to foreign persons or foreign military units,” the press release reads.

Brown allegedly traveled to China with the stated intent of training the Chinese military pilots in combat aircraft operations. Upon his arrival in China, he sat for three hours of questioning “about the U.S. Air Force on his first day in the PRC,” the DOJ said. He further “prepared and presented a brief about himself for the PLAAF.”

“The United States Air Force trained Major Brown to be an elite fighter pilot and entrusted him with the defense of our Nation. He now stands charged with training Chinese military pilots,” Assistant Attorney General for National Security John A. Eisenberg said in a statement. “When U.S. persons – whether military or civilian – provide training to a foreign military, that activity is illegal unless they have a license from the State Department. The National Security Division will use all tools at its disposal to protect our military advantages and hold to account those who would violate the AECA.”

“Gerald Brown, a former F-35 Lightning II instructor pilot with decades of experience flying U.S. military aircraft, allegedly betrayed his country by training Chinese pilots to fight against those he swore to protect,” Assistant Director Roman Rozhavsky of the FBI’s Counterintelligence and Espionage Division said. “The Chinese government continues to exploit the expertise of current and former members of the U.S. armed forces to modernize China’s military capabilities. This arrest serves as a warning that the FBI and our partners will stop at nothing to hold accountable anyone who collaborates with our adversaries to harm our service members and jeopardize our national security.”

FBI Director Kash Patel also shared on X,

“Major story… the FBI and our partners have arrested a former U.S. Air Force Pilot who was allegedly training pilots in the Chinese military”

The FBI’s New York, Louisville, Indianapolis, and Los Angeles Field Offices, as well as the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, are investigating the case against Brown.

Brown is scheduled to have his initial appearance before a Magistrate Judge in the Southern District of Indiana on Thursday, February 26, 2026.

This is a developing story.
