No, not missiles or drones or bombs – just a propane tank, they say.

With the world on the edge with war and terrorism, sleeper cells, left-wing extremists, explosions in a building in downtown Toronto put the community on high alert.

The pair of explosions on the roof of the building prompted an emergency response on Friday (28), but city officials say no one was injured.

Reuters reported:

“Emergency crews responded after two ⁠explosions were heard and a ​billowing plume of smoke could ​be seen rising from a six-story commercial building in a densely populated area ​close to the city’s financial ​district.

Deepak Chagger, a spokesperson with Toronto Fire ‌Services, ⁠said the fire broke out in an area of the roof where construction work was ​taking place. ​He ⁠said three propane cylinders had ruptured as a ​result of the fire.”

CBC reported:

“Police say they have received information that items are possibly exploding and debris may be falling onto the street below. There are unknown injuries at this time.

Emergency personnel were called to the area shortly after 6 p.m. Thick black smoke was seen billowing from the roof of the building on Friday evening.

Firefighters say there are no reports of injuries.”

Leftist Bob Costas Admits Men Have No Business in Women’s Sports: ‘Common Sense Is Not Transphobic’

While affirming his leftist perspective on the world, sportscaster Bob Costas said that action by the International Olympic Committee to ban men from women’s events is simply common sense.

The IOC acted Thursday to ban men from women’s sports, beginning with the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

“As a former athlete, I passionately believe in the rights of all Olympians to take part in fair competition,” IOC president Kristy Coventry, a former gold medal Olympian, said in a statement posted on the IOC website, adding, “At the Olympic Games, even the smallest margins can be the difference between victory and defeat.”

“So, it is absolutely clear that it would not be fair for biological males to compete in the female category. In addition, in some sports it would simply not be safe,” she said.

In a video posted to X, Costas took a stand in favor of transgender individuals, but also supported a ban on men facing women in sports.

“Give me enough time to address this, so I’m not misunderstood. There are people who use this issue cynically, for political purposes, and they’re demonizing people who happen to be trans, who should be treated with respect and dignity and understanding,” he said.

Liberal chops established, he went on to add: “However, common sense is not transphobic.”

“There’s a reason why the high school champions don’t compete with the college champions. There is a reason why no trans man, who was once a woman, and has become a man, has ever competed successfully with men in the Olympics,” he said.

“There is a reason why there are men’s and women’s sports, and why Title IX was one of the truly progressive pieces of legislation in the best sense of the word,” he said. Title IX is the federal legislation that requires women to have equal opportunity in education and was the foundation for the growth of women’s sports at the high school and college levels.

Costas referenced the fiasco of Lia Thomas, a man who was allowed to swim against women, winning races, breaking records, and snaring awards, saying “it doesn’t make any sense” to have allowed him to compete.

“If that’s what the person wants to do, that person should be treated with dignity and respect,” Costas said, “but there ought to be common sense, and common sense is not transphobic.”

The IOC policy change was cheered by many.

“An organization is finally standing up to say that women matter — their hopes and dreams, their ability to push themselves and pursue excellence on a safe and level playing field — it matters. Now is the time for the NCAA to stand up and say the same,” Kaylie Ray, an NCAA volleyball player, said, according to the New York Post.

“For the young women who work endlessly to reach the Olympic level, their protection matters too. For the girls who strive to compete at the collegiate level, their opportunities cannot be taken by men anymore,” Ray said.

Kim Jones, who had two daughters and one son swim for Yale, said that during the Lia Thomas era, the college kowtowed to transgender athletes at the expense of everyone else, according to Fox News, saying the athletic department “felt like North Korea,”

“They terrorized the girls … they pulled them into mandatory meetings. They intimidated, coerced, threatened, and emotionally blackmailed them,” Jones said.

“They were told that they were going to be, that they were to be held accountable for any harm that came to folks in their communities that identified as transgender,” she said.

ESPN host Stephen A. Smith went off on transgender athletes invading women’s sports on Real Time with Bill Maher on Friday, causing the liberal host’s audience to burst out in applause. 

Maher asked Smith about the issue of transgender men in women’s sports and whether it would be an issue for the Democrats.

“That’s their own damn problem,” Smith responded before going off on male athletes in women’s competition and questioning, “What about protecting the young ladies?”

Young ladies going up against men, you know, biological men, there is no excuse for that.

Smith further eviscerated Liam “Lia” Thomas, the infamous male swimmer who set records and stole the podium from female swimmers at UPenn.

“He was ranked like over 400th in the world” before “He became a she,” Smith said. He continued, “Oh damn it, does it really take an Einstein to realize that there’s something wrong with that picture?”

“We’re talking sports! That’s my lane, and I’m telling you, there is no reason for a biological male to be competing in women’s sports. We certainly don’t see biological women transitioning and trying to compete in men’s sports. I don’t hear about that,” he added.

Maher: Is this going to be an issue in the Democratic primaries? It’s another one where you can make Democrats die on the hill that they died on last time.

Smith: If it’s an issue within the Democratic Party, that’s their own damn problem. Biological men should not be competing against biological girls in sports. Period, period. I am a supporter of the LGBTQ plus community. I don’t want to get in the way of anybody’s civil rights, civil liberties, or anything like that. But what about protecting the young ladies? Young ladies going up against men, you know, biological men, there is no excuse for that.

And by the way, you know what you could be. You know, Liam Thomas, for example, who was, you know, was a male, and he was ranked— Yeah the swimmer. He was ranked like over 400th in the world–

Maher: She!

Smith: She! And then she, and then he became a she, okay? He became, you know, transitioning, and number one! Oh damn it, does it really take an Einstein to realize that there’s something wrong with that picture? We’re talking sports! That’s my lane, and I’m telling you, there is no reason for a biological male to be competing in women’s sports. We certainly don’t see biological women transitioning and trying to compete in men’s sports. I don’t hear about that!

This comes after the Olympic Committee decided to require genetic testing to qualify for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles to ensure that men are not competing in women’s Olympic Games.

“The policy that we have announced is based on science and has been led by medical experts. At the Olympic Games, even the smallest margins can be the difference between victory and defeat,”  International Olympic Committee President Kristy Coventry said in a statement.

“So, it is absolutely clear that it would not be fair for biological males to compete in the female category. In addition, in some sports it would simply not be safe.”

The move follows pressure from President Trump and his executive order to protect women’s sports.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani called for the complete abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Friday, labeling the federal agency a “rogue” and “reckless” entity that “delivers nothing toward the furthering of the cause of public safety.”

Mamdani made the statement during a press conference announcing new street safety efforts.

The mayor claimed he has told President Donald Trump both privately and publicly that ICE should be abolished, saying the agency causes fear among New Yorkers and operates with “a level of impunity.”

“I’ve also been public about my belief that ICE is an entity that should be abolished, and that is critically important in our city, where we’ve seen too many New Yorkers living in fear of even going to what would otherwise be routine immigration check-ins,” Mamdani said.

The comments come just days after a deadly subway attack in the city on 83-year-old Air Force veteran Richard Williams by an illegal alien who had been deported multiple times.

Williams died from injuries after he was shoved onto the tracks at the Lexington Avenue-63rd Street station in Manhattan.

The suspect, 34-year-old Honduran Bairon Posada-Hernandez has been charged with murder.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, Posada-Hernandez had been deported from the United States four times previously and is described as a “serial criminal.”

Mamdani has not issued any public statement specifically addressing the murder of Williams by the illegal alien.

The mayor’s office referred questions about whether Posada-Hernandez would be turned over to ICE to the Department of Corrections, which said it processes ICE detainers only in line with New York’s sanctuary city policies, according to a report from Fox News.

Fox reports:

Reporters did not question Mamdani about the recent murder of 83-year-old Air Force veteran Richard Williams, who died after he was allegedly shoved onto New York City subway tracks by an illegal immigrant from Honduras. Mamdani has yet to publicly comment on the killing.

When asked if Honduran national Bairon Posada-Hernandez, 34, would be turned over to ICE, the mayor’s office referred Fox News to the Department of Corrections (DOC).

A DOC spokesperson said the agency processes ICE detainers “consistent with local law,” which limits cooperation.

Under city law, ICE is only notified if there is a detainer backed by a judicial warrant (I-200 or I-205), and the person has a qualifying recent conviction for a violent or serious crime.

It is unclear if ICE will be notified or take custody of Posada-Hernandez, who has been deported from the U.S. four times, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

DHS has asked for the killer to be handed over, saying in a statement, “Posada-Hernandez is a serial criminal and four-time deported illegal alien who NEVER should have been able to walk our streets and harm innocent Americans. He is now facing murder charges. We are calling on New York sanctuary politicians to not release this murderer. Please join us in praying for Mr. Williams’ family, friends, and loved ones.”

Mamdani also endorsed the upcoming “No Kings NYC” protest planned for Saturday in Manhattan, calling protests “an incredibly effective way for New Yorkers to both organize together” and a chance to show that opponents of ICE are “one of a growing coalition.”

“What these rallies are — are also an opportunity to realize that you are not in the minority when you have those beliefs. You are, in fact, one of a growing coalition of people who want to see a shred of decency, dignity and humanity come back to our city and our country’s politics,” Mamdani said.

‘Cocaine sharks’ are a thing, now.

A group of Brazilian scientists published a study in the journal Environmental Pollution that is causing concern.

They have discovered traces of cocaine, caffeine, and painkillers in sharks swimming in waters around the Bahamas.

The animals are getting ‘hooked’ as a result of an uptick in marine pollutants.

The New York Post reported:

“’Pharmaceuticals and illicit drugs are increasingly recognized as contaminants of emerging concern (CECs) in marine environments, particularly in areas undergoing rapid urbanization and tourism-driven development’, the researchers wrote while describing the troubling […] trend.”

This is the first time sharks tested positive for cocaine in the Bahamas.

Researchers analyzed blood samples from 85 specimens and drug-tested for both legal and illegal substances.

“Of the samples, a shocking 28 sharks spanning three species tested positive for drugs, the most common of which was caffeine. This was followed by acetaminophen and diclofenac, the active ingredients in the popular painkillers Tylenol and Voltaren.

Meanwhile, two of the animals tested positive for cocaine, which researchers attributed to them chomping on drug packets that fell into the water.

‘They bite things to investigate and end up exposed’, study author Natascha Wosnick of the Federal University of Paraná in Brazil, told Science News.”
