Another day, another Keir Starmer scandal.

The Jeffrey Epstein crisis has resurfaced in the UK, with the revelation yesterday (16) that Peter Mandelson failed the security vetting conducted before his appointment as British Ambassador to the US.

While Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his Labour Party cabinet swear that they were unaware of this fact, the opposition is questioning how a premier could not know, and is again demanding his resignation.

Reuters reported:

“Starmer, under renewed pressure to resign, expressed anger on Friday over not being informed that his former ambassador to the United States, Peter ‌Mandelson, had failed security vetting before being handed the job.”

This comes three weeks before local elections in which Labour is widely expected to suffer big losses in England, Scotland and Wales.

“Starmer, who was in France on Friday for talks on the Iran crisis, told ​reporters it was unforgivable that he had not been told about Mandelson having failed security vetting ‘when I was telling parliament that due process had been followed’.

Starmer said he would ‘set out the ​relevant facts’ on Monday to parliament. A spokesperson for Starmer told reporters the prime minister had no plans to resign.”

Starmer’s government quickly fired the Foreign Office’s top official, Olly Robbins, trying to deflect the blame.

The Telegraph reported:

“The Prime Minister is facing calls to quit after blaming Foreign Office officials for appointing the disgraced peer as ambassador to the US despite him having failed the enhanced vetting process.”

‘Keir Starmer has misled Parliament, he’s misled the country and he’s tried to cover it up.’

“Darren Jones, the Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister, rejected suggestions that Sir Keir should quit over the scandal, saying he blamed a ‘failing of the state’.

Asked whether it was time for Labour to consider Sir Keir’s position, he told Sky News: ‘No. And I think if you look at what’s going on in the world, not least in relation to the conflicts in the Middle East and what that’s doing for people’s living standards, energy bills, food prices… You need a credible, reliable, strong Prime Minister to be able to take the country through those difficult challenges’.”

Iran-Linked Terror Cell Claims Radioactive Drone Attack on Israeli Embassy in London as Police Swarm Park in Hazmat Suits.

London woke up to a frightening security alert on Friday, 17 April 2026. Police closed Kensington Gardens, one of the capital’s premier royal parks, after an Iran-linked Islamic group posted a video claiming to have launched drones carrying radioactive and cancer-causing materials toward the nearby Israeli Embassy.

Officers in full hazmat suits and gas masks descended on the area, joined by chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) teams, fire investigation units, hazardous-response ambulances, and even underwater search-and-rescue divers near the bandstand.

The group Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia, roughly translating to “Islamic Movement of the Companions of the Right,” released footage showing individuals in white protective suits handling drones bearing its logo. The video depicted a drone lifting off into the evening sky from what appeared to be a local park. It warned of “radioactive and dangerous carcinogenic material” and urged people to stay 900 meters away. The group described the alleged operation as entering its “second phase,” building on prior claims of arson attacks on Jewish ambulances, a Finchley synagogue, and an Iranian opposition TV station in Wembley.

Metropolitan Police confirmed the Israeli Embassy was not attacked and staff remained safe. Counter Terrorism Policing is urgently investigating the video’s authenticity and any link to “discarded items” found in the park. Public access was fully blocked with signs warning of “hazardous conditions.”

A heavy cordon remains in place, with Kensington Gardens shut for the day while Hyde Park stays open. The Israeli Embassy issued a measured statement recognizing the investigation but stressing continuous contact with authorities, and no direct threat materialized.

This incident comes as US-Israel-Iran conflict tensions are high. Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia uses insignia similar to Iran’s IRGC, Hezbollah, and Iraqi militias. The group has taken credit for attacks across Europe since the conflict deepened.

Experts say their imagery suggests a ‘spiritual mission’ of divine favor. This masks what appears to be state-backed disruption. Deputy Commissioner Matt Jukes recently warned that some are paid or persuaded by foreign states to commit crimes. He promised consequences for those acting on hatred, racism, or antisemitism.

Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp rightly demanded clarity from the Government on the steps it is taking to protect the embassy and the Jewish community. “The unrelenting intimidation of the Jewish community and attacks on Jewish institutions have absolutely no place in this country,” he stated.

Yet the episode raises deeper questions about Britain’s vulnerability. Porous borders, lax vetting, and an unwillingness to confront Islamic networks have allowed such threats to proliferate. Similar patterns appear in grooming gangs scandals, where political correctness and fear of “Islamophobia” labels enabled decades of abuse before any reckoning.

For America, this incident acts as a warning.

Sanctuary policies and challenges related to migration have presented risks, as noted in FBI reports on trafficking and extremism in migrant communities. If rigorous security, law enforcement, and open debate about cultural attitudes are not prioritized, similar incidents could occur in US cities, with public spaces at risk. European targets such as synagogues, embassies, and tourist sites highlight vulnerabilities that may also exist in states like Minnesota or Michigan, where these patterns may not always receive attention.

Britain’s response involved quickly deploying specialist teams. However, a call for proactive strategies remains: policies have sometimes prioritized social harmony, making it difficult to address Iran-linked cells. Private prosecutions and independent inquiries, such as Rupert Lowe’s work on grooming gangs, demonstrate the importance of supplementary investigations when official responses are slow or incomplete.

Transparency regarding foreign interference and proxy networks is equally important.

A solution requires focus on robust border controls, enforcement against foreign agents, protection of Jewish and Western institutions, and open debate that is not constrained by restrictive definitions. Without careful attention to these areas, the current park closure could represent a larger issue.

Policymakers on both sides of the Atlantic may prioritize sovereignty, security, and national identity to reduce the risk of similar incidents in the future.

Fairfax County, Virginia, decided students should no longer get Veterans Day as a holiday.

However, Indigenous Peoples’ Day is one “holiday” they’ll gladly keep.

FFX Now reported on Monday that the county school board has arrived at their calendar for the next academic year, which reduced the number of early release days and omitted Veterans Day as a holiday.

Both Veterans Day and Indigenous Peoples’ Day were up for omission as holidays, but only the former passed.

Ostensibly, the decision came in response to parents’ concerns about disruptions to the school year.

Fairfax County’s board has not been a shining example for an educational body when looking at its history.

A Virginia mother, Stacey Langton, spoke out three years ago when Fairfax County included lewd LGBT-themed books in its libraries, exposing children to sexual content.

Per Fox News, the board quietly removed “Queer: A Graphic History” after Langton appeared at one of their meetings on May 11, 2023, with an image from the volume printed out.

The image depicted a sexual act between a man and woman where roles were reversed.

If that wasn’t bad enough, Fairfax County has decided to fight the Trump administration for its insistence on having transgender bathrooms and other spaces for students, per a release by Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid.

The latest decision with Veterans Day is just another step in the wrong direction.

It really is shameful that a county in a state like Virginia would do such a thing.

This is the birthplace of former President George Washington, the commander-in-chief who led the Continental Army to victory against the British.

The Virginia dynasty includes Washington, along with former Presidents Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and James Monroe.

Aside from being the home of several presidents, we cannot overlook the critical events in the military history of our nation that unfolded in the state.

British General Lord Charles Cornwallis surrendered to Washington at Yorktown, Virginia, in October 1781. Several decisive battles of the American Civil War were also fought in Virginia.

It is home to Arlington Cemetery, where service members rest after paying the ultimate price.

If anyone should be honoring and holding Veterans Day in the highest regard, it should be Virginia and their largest school district.

Europe is facing a rapidly escalating energy crisis that threatens to paralyze its aviation sector within weeks, as disruptions in global oil supply chains expose the continent’s deep structural vulnerabilities.

According to International Energy Agency chief Fatih Birol, Europe may have as little as six weeks of jet fuel remaining if current conditions persist. Birol’s warning comes amid ongoing turmoil tied to the conflict with Iran, which has severely disrupted one of the world’s most critical energy chokepoints—the Strait of Hormuz. This narrow passage normally facilitates roughly 20 percent of global oil flows, making it indispensable to energy markets.

Not mincing words in his assessment of the situation, Birol described the situation as “the largest energy crisis we have ever faced,” he warned that supply disruptions are already reverberating across global markets and will soon be felt by ordinary Europeans.

“I can tell you soon we will hear the news that some of the flights… might be cancelled as a result of lack of jet fuel,” Birol said, highlighting the urgency of the crisis. His remarks underline a looming aviation disruption that could ripple across tourism, trade, and business travel, with summer just a few months away.

The root of the crisis lies in geopolitical escalation. Following military actions involving the United States and Israel, Iran moved to effectively close access to the Strait of Hormuz for what it considers hostile shipping, choking off vital energy flows.

This decision triggered immediate consequences. Tankers began rerouting or turning back entirely, while oil prices surged toward $100 per barrel, further intensifying pressure on already fragile supply chains.
For Europe, the consequences are particularly severe. Having deliberately reduced reliance on Russian energy in recent years, the continent now finds itself heavily dependent on Middle Eastern imports—precisely the region now engulfed in conflict.

This strategic shift, often framed by policymakers as a moral and geopolitical necessity, is now being exposed as a high-risk gamble. Without sufficient domestic production or diversified supply routes, Europe’s energy security has been left dangerously exposed.

Birol warned that alternative supply routes are limited and insufficient to offset the loss of Hormuz-linked shipments. As a result, Europe is burning through its existing reserves at an alarming pace.
Industry estimates suggest that, under normal conditions, airlines and airports maintain roughly six weeks of jet fuel supply. However, with new shipments disrupted and reserves being drawn down, those buffers are quickly disappearing.

Early signs of strain are already visible across the aviation sector. Airlines are beginning to cancel flights not necessarily due to immediate shortages, but because soaring fuel costs are making routes economically unviable.

The Air France-KLM has announced cuts to 160 flights in the coming month, citing rising kerosene costs. While the airline insists there is no immediate shortage, the financial pressure is clearly mounting.
Elsewhere, cancellations are becoming more widespread. Reports indicate that SAS has scrapped approximately 1,000 flights, while smaller carriers in the UK have also reduced services as fuel prices skyrocket. Fuel costs have surged dramatically, with some estimates indicating increases of around 120 percent year-on-year. This spike is already being passed on to consumers through higher ticket prices, particularly on long-haul routes.

Even major hubs are feeling the impact. London’s Heathrow Airport has reportedly experienced cancellations linked to rising fuel costs, signaling that the crisis is no longer theoretical but operational.
Despite reassurances from some carriers, such as easyJet, that short-term supplies remain stable, the broader outlook remains grim. Executives acknowledge visibility only weeks ahead, with uncertainty beyond that point.

The situation is further complicated by the exhaustion of shipments that were already en route before the conflict escalated. With those final cargoes now delivered, Europe is increasingly reliant on dwindling reserves.

Birol likened the situation to a “dire strait,” warning that the longer the disruption continues, the more severe the consequences will be for global economic stability. Inflationary pressures are expected to intensify as energy costs rise across the board.

“Higher petrol prices, higher gas prices, high electricity prices,” he warned, outlining a cascade of economic effects that will hit households and industries alike. The broader implications extend far beyond aviation. Rising energy costs threaten to slow economic growth, strain public finances, and deepen social tensions already simmering across Europe.

Critics argue that Europe’s current predicament is the direct result of years of ideological policymaking that prioritized political signaling over energy realism. By abandoning reliable supply sources without securing viable alternatives, policymakers have left the continent vulnerable.

Meanwhile, other parts of the world are adapting more pragmatically. Countries across Asia, including Indonesia and Vietnam, are securing alternative energy supplies, while Russia has signaled its willingness to fill gaps in global markets. This contrast highlights a growing divide in how governments around the world approach energy security. While some pursue diversification and resilience, Europe appears increasingly constrained by its own out-of-touch policy choices.
