Screencap of Twitter/X video.

Graham Platner, the far left Democrat running for a U.S. Senate seat in Maine recently appeared on CBS News and appeared to blame his Nazi tattoo and other internet-related controversies on the culture of the United States Military.

Journalist Major Garrett, who amazingly used to work for FOX News, bends over backwards to try to help Platner through this segment, asking him nicely if there are things other than PTSD which might be to blame for his many controversial remarks on Reddit and other sites.

Even in their tweet about this story, CBS News says that Platner’s tattoo ‘resembled’ a Nazi symbol, which is incorrect:

In response to controversy surrounding a tattoo resembling a Nazi symbol and comments he made previously on Reddit, Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner says “much of it was because of the culture I had come out of.”

This community note was added to their tweet:

His tattoo was not “resembling” a Nazi symbol. His tattoo *was* a Nazi symbol, specifically the second version of the SS-Totenkopf, used from 1934 to 1945 by German SS.

In the video below, Platner comments:

“When I left the military, I came out of a hyper-masculine, hyper-violent place,” he says. “I did four tours in the infantry. We have a crude sense of humor in the infantry. We certainly have a, I would say, narrow view of a lot of topics, and that colored my opinions and my beliefs.”

Watch the video below:

Twitter/X users did not hold back in their criticism of this.

And of course, he probably won’t lose a single Democrat vote over this. Amazing.

War on the Press? Maryland’s Democratic Governor Blasts Newspaper for Reporting on His Past
April 11, 2026

The Democratic governor of a reliably blue state is officially in a war of words with the local press.

Maryland Gov. Wes Moore has been under a searing microscope of late, largely due to some of the less-than-flattering reporting from The Baltimore Sun.

The outlet has been ramping up the pressure on Moore, looking into inconsistencies in the 47-year-old’s past claims about his military service.

While Moore had previously been relatively mum on the matter, that abruptly changed on Tuesday, when Moore addressed The Baltimore Sun’s reporting directly during an MS Now appearance with former Biden White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki.

And, perhaps unsurprisingly, this is all the fault of President Donald Trump, according to Moore.

Instead of broaching the actual substance of the investigation, Psaki and Moore were quick to pivot the conversation to the fact that The Baltimore Sun had recently been purchased by Sinclair Broadcast Group — a media titan that’s actually somewhat friendly with Trump.

This fact is apparently so disqualifying and so offensive that Moore told Psaki that he doesn’t consider The Baltimore Sun to be Maryland’s paper of record anymore.

“The Baltimore Sun used to be our paper of record,” Moore said. “It’s now become the paper of the right wing.”

Moore’s press secretary, Ammar Moussa, echoed his boss’ sentiments on X, calling the questions into the governor’s past “faux-journalism.”

But while Moore and his allies can take all the shots at the media that they want, The Baltimore Sun isn’t the only outlet looking into the Maryland governor’s allegedly checkered past.

The Washington Free Beacon has also been covering this story, as has Spotlight on Maryland.

Alarmingly, Moore and his team don’t exactly have their hands clean in this roiling feud with The Baltimore Sun.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, Moore’s team threatened to tank the reputation of The Baltimore Sun, and followed through with that by publishing private communications between Moore’s team and the outlet’s reporters.

The outlet also reported that Moore defended his military record — while again blaming Trump.

“The United States Army doesn’t question my integrity. The soldiers I served with don’t question my integrity,” Moore told Psaki. “But we are seeing how the right wing and these right-wing billionaires like David Smith is then using his wealth to be able to manipulate local media.”

He also claimed that “they’re doing it to curry favor with Donald Trump.”

Joe Biden was spotted at an ice cream shop in Los Angeles, California, this week.

Biden and Jay Leno stopped by Handel’s Ice Cream in La Cañada Flintridge while filming “Jay Leno’s Garage.”

Joe Biden looked clueless as he greeted people at the ice cream shop.

“We are from Ukraine,” the man said.

“I spent a lot of time in Ukraine,” Biden boasted.

Biden was recently spotted at a coffee shop in Delaware.

The video was posted to TikTok last week although it is unclear when it was taken.

The former president looked feeble and exhausted as he shuffled around the shop.

Barely anyone noticed Joe Biden.

Joe Biden has largely stayed out of the public eye since leaving office and revealing a cancer diagnosis.

But every once in a while Biden crawls out of hiding to attack President Trump.

Last month, Biden unleashed an attack on President Trump during a ‘surprise’ appearance at a St. Patrick’s Day breakfast in Boston, Massachusetts.

In early March Joe Biden slammed President Trump during a political event in South Carolina.

Starmer is lost at the helm of a decadent Britain.

A defining characteristic of failed Keir Starmer’s Premiership is the fact that he is always changing his mind and making ‘U-turns’, a sign that his policies and his decisions are a matter solely of political convenience.

But the fact is that many of his Labour policies are so bad, that his reversing them ends up being his most positive contribution.

Take, for example, his incomprehensible plan to give the Chagos Islands back to Mauritius: harshly criticized by Donald J. Trump, and now apparently shelved.

The UK press reported today that the Labour government is setting aside the Chagos Islands handover plan because of opposition from Trump’s administration.

Politico reported:

“A bill underpinning the deal will not be included in the King’s Speech next month, The Times and other outlets reported on Saturday. POLITICO reported in February that Starmer’s administration would ‘pause for thought’ on the Chagos plan.

The biggest island in the archipelago, Diego Garcia, hosts a US-UK military base. Starmer had tried to complete a handover deal under which Britain would pay the Indian Ocean island £3.4 billion over a century to secure continued use of the crucial military base.”

In February, Trump warned Starmer that he was ‘making a big mistake’, called it ‘an act of great stupidity’.

“The agreement was meant to avoid a potentially painful and expensive legal dispute with Mauritius over the former colony. Indeed, after Trump’s intervention last month, Mauritius said that it was exploring legal tools against London.

[…] The decision to put the agreement on hold follows increasing tensions over the military cooperation between Britain and the U.S. Starmer refused to support the American-Israeli attacks on Iran, and he allowed Washington to use U.K. military bases only for defensive strikes.”

In the meantime, Mauritius has vowed to regain control of the Chagos Islands even after Starmer’s reversal.

The Telegraph reported:

“Dhananjay Ramful, the Mauritian foreign minister, told an Indian Ocean conference in Mauritius: ‘We will spare no effort to seize any diplomatic or legal avenue to complete the decolonization process. This is a matter of justice’.

[…] Under the terms of the shelved plan, Britain would have ceded sovereignty of the Chagos to Mauritius and paid around £35bn to lease the air base back for 99 years.”
