President Donald Trump was the apparent target of another assassination attempt at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner on Saturday night.

The event was safely evacuated after shots were fired in the lobby as a man attempted to breach the Secret Service protection.

The suspect has since been identified as 31-year-old Cole Allen, a school teacher from Torrance, California.

A Secret Service Agent was shot and injured during the incident.

However, the miserable leftists over on Bluesky are absolutely convinced that the event was a “staged theatrical event.”

Among their wild theories was the idea that the attack would somehow increase Republican success in the midterms and distract from Trump’s alleged dealings with Jeffrey Epstein.

According to police in Washington, D.C., the suspect had checked into the hotel before his attempted rampage.

They added that it was an “isolated incident” and there is “no reason to believe at this time that anyone else was involved” and there was no risk of “any sort of danger to the public.”

CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer provided a detailed eyewitness account of the shooting that erupted Saturday night at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, as he was just feet away from the gunman when the chaos began.

In an interview following the incident, Blitzer described being in the wrong place at the wrong time, as he was walking back from the men’s room when gunfire suddenly erupted nearby.

A police officer immediately threw him to the ground for protection as the shooter opened fire with what Blitzer repeatedly called “a very, very serious weapon.”

“It was a very, very serious weapon, he starts shooting,” Blitzer said. “I happened to have been a few feet away from him as he was shooting. And of course, the first thing that went through my mind, is he trying to shoot me?”

Blitzer emphasized that he had no idea who or what the shooter was targeting.

“All of a sudden, I heard these loud, very loud, very scary gunshots right near me. Next thing I knew, a police officer threw me to the ground and was on top of me,” Blitzer said.

“I had no idea, as I was hearing the gunshots, who this shooter was aiming at, or if he was just trying to scare everybody,” Blizter said. “And, of course, the first thing that went through my mind was whether he was going to shoot me.”

“It was a terrible, very frightening moment for me,” Blizter stated.

The anchor confirmed he did see the gunman on the ground after he started shooting.

“Police officers threw him to the ground, but he was still shooting. And I could hear the shots going off,” Blizter said.

The shooting occurred near the security screening area and magnetometers just outside the main ballroom, where President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and hundreds of attendees were gathered.

The suspect, 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen of Torrance, California, had checked into the hotel as a registered guest and was armed with a shotgun, handgun, and multiple knives before allegedly assembling a long weapon and opening fire.

One Secret Service agent was struck but saved by his bulletproof vest.

No other injuries were reported, and Allen was taken into custody alive.

U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro has confirmed Allen has been charged with at least two counts so far, using a firearm during a crime of violence and assault on a federal officer using a dangerous weapon.

“This individual was intent on doing as much harm and as much damage as he could,” Pirro said.

Pirro made it clear that prosecutors are not done, stating that additional charges are coming as the investigation continues.

Aldi has announced plans to remove more than 40 ingredients from its private-label food, vitamin, and supplement products by the end of 2027.

The German discount supermarket chain has rapidly expanded its footprint in the United States over the past decade, growing to more than 2,000 stores nationwide.

The company has now confirmed that 44 additional additives will be phased out, including artificial preservatives, colors, flavors, and sweeteners.

Among those set to be eliminated are Acesulfame K, Bromated Flour, Calcium Bromate, Potassium Bromate, Potassium Nitrate, Propylene Oxide, and Titanium Dioxide.

“At the heart of our private label products is a commitment to listening to our customers and continually improving the products they bring into their homes,” said Scott Patton, Aldi’s Chief Commercial Officer.

“Based directly on customer feedback, we are proud to take meaningful steps to make it even easier for families to fill their carts with confidence by delivering simpler ingredients while continuing to provide the quality and value they expect from ALDI.”

The move was celebrated by Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who urged other companies to “follow their lead.”

Kennedy has long made reducing chemical additives in the food supply a central part of his “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) agenda, arguing that processed foods and synthetic ingredients are driving chronic disease.

Back in 2015, Aldi became one of the first national grocers to eliminate synthetic colors from private-label items.

Ingredients already removed include Brominated Vegetable Oil and several synthetic dyes, such as FD&C Blue No. 1, Blue No. 2, Green No. 3, Red No. 2, Red No. 3, and Red No. 40.

Other retailers are making similar changes. Walmart has said it will remove synthetic dyes and certain additives from store-brand products by 2027.

Target announced it will require all cereals it sells to eliminate artificial dyes by the end of May.

.Meanwhile, PepsiCo has introduced versions of Cheetos and Doritos without artificial dyes or flavors and said it plans to phase out artificial colors and flavors in brands like Lay’s and Tostitos.

The company has also indicated it will shift toward using oils such as avocado and olive oil instead of canola and soybean oil.

Jake Reiner, eldest son of the late Hollywood legend Rob Reiner and wife Michele, broke his months-long public silence Friday by posting a lengthy tribute to his murdered parents.

“It’s almost too impossible to process,” Reiner wrote on Substack.

The tribute combined recollections of his parents with revelations about the “nightmare” he has lived since their violent deaths.

On Dec. 14, 2025, 78-year-old Rob and 68-year-old Michele Reiner were found dead inside their Los Angeles home.

The Reiners’ second son, Nick Reiner, who has a history of substance abuse and violent behavior, allegedly stabbed his parents to death with a knife, though the suspect’s now-former attorney has professed Nick’s innocence under the law.

Either way, Jake Reiner did not address his brother’s guilt or innocence. In fact, he only mentioned his brother briefly and not by name.

Instead, he began by sharing that he learned of his parents’ death through his sister Romy.

“My world, as I knew it, had collapsed,” he wrote. “I was in a trance. The only thing I could focus on was that I needed to get to my childhood home. I needed to get to my sister. I needed to figure out what the hell just happened.”

After the initial shock, grief took hold and has not let go.

“Nothing can prepare you for what it feels like to lose both parents instantly at the same time,” Reiner wrote. “It’s too devastating to comprehend. I still wake up every morning having to convince myself that, no, it’s not a dream. This truly is my living nightmare.”

Then followed a tribute to each of his parents.

He called his mom his “confidant,” recalled her selflessness, sense of humor, and love of musicals.

Of his famous Hollywood dad, with whom he shared a love of baseball, Reiner wrote that the public saw “exactly the beautiful person he was at home.”

The murders, of course, perpetually haunt Jake and Romy.

“Every day since then has been horrendous,” Jake wrote. “Every meeting we take, every person we talk to, every tear we shed, every movement we make is connected to our parents being murdered. In the middle of trying to process the most devastating moment of your life, the world demands meetings, paperwork, decisions, and explanations; as if documentation must come before mourning.”

Jake also promised that Romy will tell her story “in her own way and in her time.”

Certain details, however, “belong only to our family, and keeping them private is the only way to protect what little remains of something that was taken from us.”

Rob Reiner earned fame as a wildly successful Hollywood actor and director, as well as a liberal activist.

In the latter capacity, he often acted as an antagonist toward President Donald Trump, who said unflattering things about Rob after the murders.

Most conservatives, however, including Rob’s friend and actor James Woods, reacted with sorrow and grace.
