The cause of death for Call of Duty creator Vincent Zampella was released on Tuesday.

In December, video game developer and ‘Call of Duty’ creator Vince Zampella, 55, was killed in a horrific car crash in Southern California.

Video posted to social media shows Zampella speeding out of a tunnel in his Ferrari in the San Gabriel Mountains before crashing into a concrete barrier.

The Ferrari burst into flames as onlookers screamed in horror.

Several witnesses ran across the windy mountain road and dragged the ejected passenger away from the fiery wreckage.

Zampella died at the crash site. The unidentified passenger died later at the hospital.

On Tuesday, TMZ reported that Zampella died from burns and smoke inhalation.

TMZ reported:

Vincent Zampella died from burns and smoke inhalation after being trapped inside his burning car … TMZ has learned.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner says the “Call of Duty” creator suffered thermal injuries and smoke inhalation, with blunt trauma also listed as a significant condition. His death was ruled accidental.

As we reported … Zampella was killed in December 2025 in a single car crash along the Angeles Crest Highway.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the wreck happened when a red Ferrari heading southbound veered off the roadway, slammed into a concrete barrier, and burst into flames.

Authorities say Zampella was trapped in the driver’s seat as the fire engulfed the vehicle.

Respawn released a statement on Vince Zampella’s untimely death:

The far-left satire outlet The Onion has reportedly made a licensing deal to seize control of the iconic conservative platform Infowars and immediately turn it into a full-blown parody site featuring comedian Tim Heidecker impersonating Alex Jones.

Infowars remains under court-appointed receivership to pay the massive $1.4 billion Sandy Hook defamation judgments against Jones.

A Texas judge must still approve the deal, but if greenlit, The Onion’s parent company, Global Tetrahedron, will pay $81,000 per month to license the Infowars.com domain and brand name for an initial six months, with an option to renew, according to a report from the New York Times.

The Onion’s CEO Ben Collins celebrated the takeover on Bluesky, writing, “With the help of the Sandy Hook families, The Onion has reached a long-awaited deal to take over InfoWars.”

Collins said that proceeds would go toward repaying the families, while comedian Tim Heidecker, known for the Adult Swim series Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, was named “creative director of Infowars.”

Heidecker wasted no time announcing his plans in a video posted to Instagram and Bluesky, where he appeared in character, impersonating Jones.

“I just thought it would be just a beautiful joke if we could take this pretty toxic, negative, destructive force of Infowars and rebrand it as this beautiful place for our creativity,” Heidecker said.

Collins echoed the mocking tone, stating the company is “excited to lie constantly for cold, hard cash, but this time in a cool way, and we’ll make sure some of it gets back to the families.”

In late 2024, the satire site won a court-mandated auction for Infowars’ parent company, with backing from Sandy Hook families.

A bankruptcy judge later rejected that bid, citing flaws in the auction process and concerns that the families deserved more money.

Jones and his team successfully challenged the sale, forcing the case back into state court in Texas.

Now, instead of an outright purchase, The Onion is pursuing this licensing arrangement through court-appointed administrator Gregory Milligan.

Judge Maya Guerra Gamble in Travis County District Court is expected to rule within the next few weeks, with a hearing reportedly scheduled for April 30.

Jones retains the right to appeal any approval.

Under the proposed rebrand, Infowars.com would become an “experimental comedy site” and “digital platform and comedy network” featuring emerging comedians, heavy parody of Jones’ style, and The Onion’s fake-news satire.

The goal, according to those involved, is to transform the platform that Jones built into a vehicle for mocking Jones and the massive brand he built.

Jones, who continues to host The Alex Jones Show daily on Infowars, addressed the development on air Monday, insisting he will keep broadcasting the “exact same show” from a new platform and will “continue to fight” what he calls “incredible corruption” in the legal proceedings. He also intends to keep fighting for control of Infowars.

The Gateway Pundit will continue monitoring the Travis County court for any rulings or appeals in the effort to hand Jones’ life’s work over to his ideological opponents for public mockery.

The Justice Department on Tuesday indicted the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) on 11 counts, including wire fraud, bank fraud and money laundering.

The SPLC was indicted for secretly funneling more than $3 million in funds to members of white supremacist and extremist groups, the DOJ said.

A grand jury in the Middle District of Alabama returned an 11-count indictment against the SPLC.

The case was assigned to Judge Emily Marks, a Trump appointee.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said the grand jury indicted the SPLC on 6 counts of wire fraud, four counts of bank fraud, and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering.

Todd Blanche and FBI Director Kash Patel held a press conference to announce the federal charges.

“The SPLC was not dismantling these groups. It was instead manufacturing the extremism it purports to oppose by paying sources to stoke racial hatred,” Blanche said.

FBI Director Kash Patel said the SPLC used donor money to pay the leaders of the Ku Klux Klan and other extremist groups to stage “hate crimes.

The SPLC created shell companies to conceal their role in funding the extremist groups.

“They used the fraudulently raised money by lying to their donor network — thousands of Americans, to go ahead and actually pay the leadership of these supposed violent extremist groups,” Patel said.

“Furthermore, our investigation revealed that the Southern Poverty Law Center, on top of perpetuating this widespread decade-long multimillion dollar fraud, conducted more criminal activity,” he added.

Nebraska has joined the growing list of states calling on the Department of Veterans Affairs to address the alarming suicide crisis among veterans through legislation.

On April 9, LR293 was adopted with little national fanfare, receiving a unanimous vote of 43-0. But why is this Resolution deserving of being recognized nationally? Because it “[urges] the United States Congress to swiftly enact legislation to provide for veterans’ access to treatments for traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).”

The general public is largely unaware that Nebraska has become the fourteenth state to call for action from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to tackle the suicide crisis affecting veterans. Other states include Oklahoma, Texas, Indiana, Kentucky, Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, Wyoming, Maryland, Virginia, North Dakota, Tennessee, and Missouri.

Introduced to the state legislature by Nebraska Senator Kathleen Kauth, LR293 explicitly requests that Congress pass laws to ensure veterans have access to treatments, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). In its most basic terms, HBOT is a therapeutic procedure that requires patients to inhale pure oxygen within a pressurized chamber, enabling the lungs to absorb up to twelve times the amount of oxygen compared to regular air pressure.

The Gateway Pundit spoke to Robert Beckman, the co-founder and executive director of TreatNOW.org, an organization that has effectively utilized hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to address TBI, PTSD, and concussion for 18 years. He explained, “HBOT is linked to near total reductions in suicidal ideation and depression and has improved memory, attention, and overall quality of life.”

Like LR293, Beckman calls on Congress to ensure that veterans have access to treatments for traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy. This includes support for H.R.1336, the Veterans National Traumatic Injury Treatment Act; and any other legislation aimed at enhancing or authorizing access to essential therapies and counseling, as well as promoting research and development of new treatment options.

H.R.1336, in particular, requires the VA to “implement a five-year pilot program to furnish, under the Veterans Community Care Program, hyperbaric oxygen therapy to veterans with traumatic brain injuries or post-traumatic stress disorder.”

Beckman asserted, “Legislators need to pass legislation for treatments with some teeth, like HBOT, rather than those merely masking symptoms.” According to him, “drugs and talk therapy have proven inadequate to stem the veteran suicide epidemic.” All the while, he said, “both the VA and the Department of War continue to rely on them merely to cover up the symptoms of brain wounds—at a time when they require an effective treatment.”

HBOT is supported by decades of research, he said. “At least 28 clinical trials have demonstrated its safety and effectiveness in treating and healing brain wounds.” What’s more, he shared, “HBOT helps patients get off their drugs.”

In his opinion, “This is why Congress should take Nebraska’s urging and fund a treatment that will actually heal veterans.”

Beckman pointed out that Nebraska alone is home to approximately 115,000 veterans, noting that “this figure includes more than 20,000 veterans who are suffering from undiagnosed or untreated brain injuries, resulting in a multimillion-dollar annual financial strain on the citizens of Nebraska due to untreated TBI and PTSD.”

He stated that across the country, it is estimated that 17.6 veterans take their own lives each day, and the trend is on the rise. Since 9/11, he said that over 161,000 veterans have taken their own lives, which is nearly 23 times the number of combat-related deaths.

“The U.S. Government has allocated $5.375 billion to suicide prevention over the past decade, yet there has been minimal benefit in the results,” Beckman argued. “Sadly, more than 877,000 veterans carry untreated brain wounds right now.”

Over 180 clinics provide HBOT throughout the nation, with many offering their services free of charge. In light of this, Beckman said, “Ten Secretaries of the Veterans Administration over 25 years have been made aware of the science, safety, and effectiveness of HBOT, yet the institution continues to deny access to it and fails to inform veterans about its availability.”

“The best way right now to bring about change is by backing legislation similar to that of Nebraska and other states across the country, and urging those in Congress to listen to veterans’ voices,” Beckman lamented. “We beat the system when we become advocates for our nation’s heroes.”
