LA Mayor Karen Bass has made the best case for why Spencer Pratt must replace her after she got confronted by an actual reporter with a question over a major broken promise she made to voters.

During an interview on CNN on Tuesday, journalist Elex Michaelson pointed out that Bass failed miserably to keep a promise she made in 2023 to end street homelessness in three years. As everyone knows, LA still has one of the worst homelessness problems in the country.

Bass responded by essentially admitting she was too naive to understand the bureaucracy rampant within the government, but insisted she was making progress. How embarrassing.

She also claimed that this was the first time there had been any decrease in homelessness.

But Michaelson was unimpressed. He told Bass she was only 17.6% of the way toward her goal after three years and asked why anyone should trust her to finish the job.

Bass’s only response was to tout her meager progress, which, at this rate, would amount to only 1/3 of her initial pledge.

MICHAELSON: When you spoke with Jake Tapper in 2023, you said your goal was to end street homelessness in LA by 2026. It’s now 2026.

BASS: We haven’t ended it.

MICHAELSON: We haven’t ended it. And we’re not close. How were you so far off?

BASS: Well, basically, when I said that, it was the beginning of my term…I didn’t anticipate some of the bureaucratic barriers that I experienced. But I am prepared to take those on now.

I have fast-tracked 42,000 affordable housing units, but it still takes a couple of years…We didn’t anticipate the problem metastasizing…Street homelessness has decreased in our city.

MICHAELSON: But you promised it would go away by 100%. It’s only gone down about 17.6%. Why should people trust that you’re going to get to the 100%?

BASS: Because for the first time, there was a decrease at all! There was no commitment before getting rid of encampments across the city!

Bass not only admitted she was caught off guard upon entering the office, but also did not provide meaningful assurance that she would come through.

What possible reason could one have for re-electing her? Why not roll the dice with a non-politician?

Pratt has no interest in waiting to solve the homelessness crisis. His solutions are basic commonsense to any sentient American, but foreign to leftist Democratic officeholders.

Moreover, he has pinpointed EXACTLY why this problem has become a moneymaker for corrupt NGOs.

Fresh off another successful night of primary victories, President Trump targeted the Obama-era Senate Parliamentarian in a fiery Truth Social post.

Last week, Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough struck down three key provisions of the Senate’s reconciliation bill

Last month, the House of Representatives passed the Senate-approved package to fund the Department of Homeland Security by voice vote, ending the 75-day shutdown.

ICE and Border Patrol were to be funded separately through a reconciliation package.

Senate Republicans put together a $72 billion reconciliation package to fund ICE and Border Patrol.

Last Thursday, Democrat and Republican staffers met with Elizabeth MacDonough to go through the reconciliation package.

MacDonough struck down key provisions:

Main Border Patrol funding, additional Department of Homeland Security Appropriations, and Border Security, Technology & Screening.

President Trump blasted Senate Republicans for being weak and refusing to replace MacDonough.

Cancel culture and blacklists in the French film industry.

As the world-famous Cannes Film Festival is ongoing, the French film industry is trembling with the shockwaves caused by an announcement coming from the biggest film financier Canal+.

Controlled by right-wing billionaire Vincent Bolloré, its main shareholder, Canal+ announced it will no longer work with some 600 leftist film professionals who signed a petition opposing Bolloré and denouncing the ‘grip of the far right’ on French cinema.

France24 reported:

“Chairman Maxime Saada said on Sunday that he no longer wanted Canal+ to work with the hundreds of industry professionals who had signed a petition accusing billionaire Vincent Bolloré, the main shareholder of Canal+, of leading a far-right ‘civilizational project’.”

The petition was signed by filmmakers and actors like Juliette Binoche, Cédric Klapisch, and Gilles Lellouche. It denounces what it calls the ‘growing grip of the far right’ on French cinema.

“The billionaire mogul “makes no secret of the fact that he is leading a reactionary, far-right ‘civilizational project’”, the signatories wrote, adding: ‘While the influence of this ideological offensive on the content of films has been discreet so far, we are under no illusions: it won’t last’.

‘I saw that petition as an injustice towards the Canal+ teams, who are committed to defending Canal+’s independence and the full diversity of its choices’, Saada said on the sidelines of the festival on Sunday. ‘I will no longer work with, and I no longer want Canal to work with, the people who signed that petition’.”

Canal+ is France’s largest film and TV production company, with main shareholder Bolloré often described as France’s Rupert Murdoch.

The threat from Canal+ carries weight as the group pre-bought the rights to 74 percent of French feature films produced in 2025, with an average contribution of €1.3 million per film.

“Film journalist Estelle Aubin described the scale of the group’s influence in stark terms. ‘Canal+ is the leading financier of French cinema’, she said. ‘They invest huge sums in films before they are even made, paying producers upfront. Without that, the entire ecosystem is at risk’.”

Fresh off of endorsing Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, the MAGA favorite, to replace incumbent RINO Senator John Cornyn in the Texas GOP Senate runoff election, Trump is already taking aim at the Democratic Nominee in the race and shrugging off Senate leadership.

Neither candidate received 50% of the vote in the March Primary, leading to a runoff election next Tuesday.

While departing Washington, DC, to deliver remarks at the US Coast Guard Academy on Wednesday, Trump boasted about his endorsed candidates’ wins in yesterday’s primary elections across six states before highlighting his latest endorsement of Paxton for the Senate.

“I think he’ll win” next Tuesday, Trump said, adding that Paxton will “go on to defeat a very defective candidate.”

Paxton, the likely Republican nominee, will face Democrat James Talarico in the November general election. Trump slammed Talarico as “a candidate that believes in six genders, and he takes hits at Jesus Christ, and he’s wearing a mask six months ago.” Trump continued, “Anybody wearing a mask six months ago doesn’t get it, and he’s a vegan! He’s a vegan in Texas, and you can’t get elected as a vegan in Texas.”

The President also told Senate Republicans to pound sand if they’re upset that he endorsed Paxton against Cornyn, the incumbent Senator.

“They’ll be all right with it,” Trump said. “They want to win. I know how to win. Some of them don’t know how to win.”

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump endorsed Paxton on Tuesday after months of remaining neutral in the contest.

Trump said Cornyn is a “good man,” but noted that Cornyn was not supportive of him when times were tough. He described Paxton as “an America First Patriot, and someone who has always been extremely loyal to me and our AMAZING MAGA MOVEMENT.”

Trump previously said he would ask the candidate that he doesn’t endorse to drop out of the race. However, Cornyn has bucked Trump by signaling that he will stay in the race.
