Radical New York State Assemblymember Claire Valdez, a longtime leader in NYC-DSA (Democratic Socialists of America) and backed by Marxist NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani,  is running in the Democratic primary for New York’s 7th congressional district.

Valdez is making sure that ‘trans rights’ are front and center in her campaign.

In an interview released on Friday, Valdez told podcast host Mike from PA, “When we talk about trans rights and bodily autonomy and we talk about universal programs like social housing, like Medicare for all, like all of these programs, you know, we know that trans people, and trans youth especially, are often the highest at risk for homelessness, retaliation at their jobs.”

“So we have to be focused, really enshrining their rights within universal programs and making sure that Medicare for All includes gender-affirming care and health care for trans folks.”

“We need to make sure that we’re enshrining their rights in a Trans Bill of Rights and in workplaces.”

“And making sure that there’s real housing that is available, you know, for everyone, but especially trans people who are most at risk of being homeless or kicked out of their homes.”

As a New York State Assemblymember, Valdez is a co-sponsor of A8841, which establishes a “gender-affirming care access program”.

The bill aims to increase access to “gender-affirming care,” including medical and surgical interventions, by providing funding/support for providers and nonprofits by using state resources (tax dollars) to expand access, including for lower-income patients.

Despite Valdez’s claims during the interview, according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s 2024 Annual Homelessness Assessment Report (AHAR) to Congress, Black Americans, Native Americans, and other racial/ethnic groups actually show the highest overall rates and make up the largest shares of the homeless population.

Transgender individuals are a small absolute percentage of the total homeless population.

2024 HUD PIT Data reports that the overall homeless population breakdown of an average of 771,000 people experiencing homelessness on a given night breaks down as follows:
Men/boys: ~60%.
Black: ~32%.
White: Largest raw number but underrepresented relative to population share.
Children/families: Significant portion (~19% under 18, plus families).
Ages 55+: Growing (~20%).

Data reveals that the transgender percentage is often listed as <0.1% to ~1% in broad counts.

Approximately 2,500 to 2,600 transgender people were counted as experiencing homelessness on a single night in the U.S. in 2024, according to HUD’s report.

By contrast, according to the same 2024 HUD Report, 32,882 veterans were experiencing homelessness on a single night in January 2024.

Twice-failed Democrat Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams said the quiet part out loud after the Supreme Court issued a ruling on racial gerrymandering.

Abrams appeared on MSNOW on Sunday to discuss the redistricting wars following longtime Democrat Rep. Steve Cohen’s decision to end his reelection bid after Tennessee Republicans erased his district with a newly drawn congressional map.

Tennessee Republicans recently passed a new congressional map that eliminated Cohen’s Memphis district.

Tennessee became the ninth state to approve a new congressional map amid the redistricting wars following the Supreme Court’s blockbuster ruling on Louisiana’s racial gerrymandering.

The case, State of Louisiana v. Phillip Callais (and the related Press Robinson v. Phillip Callais), stems from Louisiana’s woke lawmakers caving to left-wing judges and creating a second “majority-minority” congressional district.

Abrams has cried racism for years and even started a nonprofit aimed at ‘getting out the black vote.’

Recall that in 2013, Abrams created The New Georgia Project, a nonprofit to get out the black vote.

Abrams has repeatedly claimed, without providing any evidence whatsoever, that Georgia Republicans engage in black voter suppression. She blamed her previous crushing election loss to Brian Kemp on black voter suppression.

After a decade of corruption, Stacey Abrams’ nonprofit, ‘New Georgia Project’ announced it was shutting down last October.

Abrams is in a panic and admitted that the Democrats are going to lose hundreds of federal and state seats because they can’t racially gerrymander anymore.

Democrats can’t win unless they cheat or forcefully take districts.

And Stacey Abrams admitted it during her appearance on MSNOW.

Abrams called the US a “competitive authoritarian nation.”

“We could lose 19-20 congressional seats but we could lose up to 191 state legislative seats,” Abrams said.

A number of articles over recent days, including the Wall Street Journal’s “The Antiabortion Movement is Turning on Trump,” do not speak for the entire pro-life movement.

As a national leader in the pro-life movement since 1993, I organize quarterly meetings of other national leaders. At my address to the 60 leaders gathered at our February meeting I explained that the pro-life movement is in the best position it has ever been to achieve its goals, thanks precisely to President Trump. It was met with wide acceptance.

It’s become common to say, as the Wall Street Journal article does, that the number of abortions has increased. Yet the annual Status of Abortion report for 2026 by the National Right to Life Committee concludes that the answer to the question of whether there are more abortions now than under Roe is “We don’t know.”

The Alan Guttmacher Institute has started using projections from smaller data sets of clinics and that has replaced more comprehensive gathering of numbers.

Moreover, the sale of an abortion drug doesn’t mean it was taken. Some stockpile these drugs, or change their minds after they purchase them.

We do know, however, that laws restricting or prohibiting abortion save lives.

On the abortion pill, the Trump Administration is researching its health impacts, but not based on political ideology. That’s what Democrat administrations have done. Instead, it is pursuing scientific research that will not be easily dismissed. The down side? It takes more time.

If the current administration announced that it has abandoned its study, or found the abortion drugs to be just fine, I’d complain. But that’s not what’s happening.

As for leaving abortion to the states, under Roe, the court told the states they could not protect the unborn before viability. Under Dobbs, they may. We need to get to the point where they must. But to go from “reverse” to “drive,” you have to pass through “neutral,” and that’s where we are now.

The president still acknowledges a federal role in abortion policy, as expressed in his Feb. 15 Presidential Message on Susan B. Anthony Day and in his March for Life video in January, which refer to ending abortion funding – which the president did – and expanding adoption support.

Others complain the administration restored Title X funding to Planned Parenthood. But that was a strategic retreat to avoid an unfavorable court ruling in an ACLU-generated challenge that would have tied the hands of the administration going forward.

Instead, the administration prefers to be free of that lawsuit and proceed according to its own rules to be able to remove more funding in the future. That seems wise to me.

As for Trump’s comment about being “flexible” on the Hyde amendment – it was a comment that should not bear more weight than his executive order enforcing the very same Hyde Amendment. Had he reversed that executive order, I’d be complaining too. But he hasn’t, and he won’t.

The pro-life movement has not turned on Trump. The leaders at our meeting were not in revolt. National Right to Life has been making similar points to mine, as has Concerned Women for America and the March for Life and many others.

And with good reason. Because more significant than delays and strategic retreats and passing comments is the fact that the Trump administration has strengthened the tools our movement needs: Freedom of speech, of religion, of peaceful protest, and has weakened the financial and ideological basis of abortion supporters.

I don’t need the president to do my job as a pro-life activist. I need him to protect my ability to do so. He is doing that at historic levels, and I speak for many others in saying I’m not turning away from that.

President Trump is calling for Iran to surrender after rejecting a Sunday proposal from Iran as he reportedly weighs resuming the war. 

According to a report from Axios, a senior US official and a source briefed on the issue say the White House has rejected another deal from Iran.

Officials also say Trump plans to hold a meeting with his national security team in the Situation Room on Tuesday.

The senior US official said that negotiations will continue “through bombs” if Iran does not change its position.

Trump himself told the outlet, “the clock is ticking” and that Iran is “going to get hit much harder” if an agreement is not reached.

Trump also threatened in a Truth Social post on Sunday that Iran “better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them.”

Trump further published a statement on Truth Social, calling for Iran’s unconditional surrender and slamming the leftist media and Democrats on Monday morning.

This comes after Trump rejected a proposal from Iran last week, describing it as “TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE” and threatening to end the ongoing ceasefire.

“I would say it’s one of the weakest right now; it’s on life support,” Trump said of the current ceasefire.
