A senior official from Kamala Harris’ failed presidential campaign appeared on MSNOW Sunday to explain why Harris lost the 2024 election, but the answer is not complicated.

Rob Flaherty, who served as Harris’ deputy campaign manager, joined MSNOW after writing that Democrats had tactics, ads, creators, social media moments, and viral content, but lacked a real brand.

That may sound like a serious political diagnosis inside Washington, D.C. But outside the consultant class, the reason Harris lost was obvious. The American people rejected a campaign that was detached from their lives, obsessed with left-wing social issues, and unable to speak like normal people.

Democrats are now trying to turn Harris’ loss into a branding problem. It was not. Harris had a brand. The problem was what the brand represented.

Her brand was DEI politics. Her brand was identity politics. Her brand was the idea that Americans should view candidates, policies, schools, businesses, and government through race, gender, and sexuality. 

Her brand was the modern Democrat Party’s obsession with catering to a tiny activist class while ignoring the everyday concerns of working Americans.

That is why the Trump campaign’s “Kamala is for they/them, President Trump is for you” message hit so hard. It did not work because Americans were obsessed with one specific issue. 

It worked because the ad summarized what millions of voters already believed: Harris was focused on the wrong people, the wrong priorities, and the wrong country.

During the MSNOW segment, Flaherty argued that the campaign’s bigger problem was not one ad, but the absence of a strong Democrat brand. 

But again, that misses the point. The Democrats did not lose because voters did not understand them. They lost because voters understood them too well.

Americans watched Democrats defend radical gender ideology, push DEI into schools and workplaces, embrace soft-on-crime policies, and talk down to voters who were worried about groceries, gas, inflation, immigration and public safety.

President Trump, meanwhile, ran as the common-sense candidate. Voters did not need a graduate seminar to understand his message. He talked about the border. He talked about the economy. He talked about crime. He talked about America putting its own citizens first.

That is why Trump connected with voters; Harris should have locked down. 

Latino voters, young voters, and working-class voters drifted away from Democrats because the party sounded less like a political movement and more like a faculty lounge.

The MSNOW interview also touched on the Democrat National Committee’s post-election autopsy, which was supposed to explain what went wrong. DNC Chair Ken Martin previously suggested the findings would be made public, but Democrats have since backed away from full transparency.

That tells Americans everything they need to know. Democrats claim they want answers, but only if the answers do not expose how radical and out of touch the party has become.

If Democrats were honest, the autopsy would be short. Harris lost because she was a weak candidate tied to an unpopular administration, a broken border, rising costs, and a cultural agenda most Americans never asked for.

Instead, the left will keep blaming messaging, branding, consultants, and strategy. They will keep pretending that voters simply misunderstood them.

The American people saw exactly what Kamala Harris represented, and they rejected it.

South Carolina has overtaken Texas and Florida as America’s fastest-growing relocation destination on a per-capita basis.

Fox News reports that data from the IRS shows Americans continuing to flee high-tax blue states for lower-cost conservative strongholds.

The Palmetto State added more than 59,000 new residents from other states between 2022 and 2023, equal to just over 1 percent of its total population and the highest migration rate in the nation.

The figures also show an economic boost accompanying the population influx.

South Carolina gained roughly 29,000 new tax filers and more than $4.1 billion in incoming income as new arrivals brought spending power with them.

The state has increasingly become a magnet for retirees, remote workers, and families seeking a cheaper alternative to states like California and New York.

However, it still offers access to coastal cities such as Charleston, fast-growing inland hubs like Greenville, and a generally lower cost of living than neighboring Florida.

It is also one of the most reliably Republican states in the country, having voted for the GOP in every presidential election since 1980.

Texas and Florida still lead in total numbers due to their larger populations.

Texas added 56,473 new tax filers, while Florida brought in 55,349, according to the IRS figures.

The migration trend continues to hammer traditionally Democratic states that are plagued by high taxes and cost of living, rampant crime and progressive ideology.

California lost more than 100,000 tax filers over the same period, alongside nearly $12 billion in income, while New York shed almost 72,000 filers and roughly $10 billion in income.

The data points to a continued reshuffling of population and economic power toward the South, where lower taxes, lighter regulation and cheaper housing costs continue attracting residents from more expensive parts of the country.

Older Americans appear to be driving much of the trend. IRS-linked turnout data shows voters aged 65 and over remain the most active movers and voters, while younger demographics lag significantly behind.

The broader pattern has become increasingly politically significant, with red states benefiting not just from population growth but from an influx of taxable income and consumer spending.

Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert has responded to President Donald Trump’s criticism of her on Truth Social for campaigning alongside Rep. Thomas Massie.

In his Truth Social post, the president threatened to withdraw his endorsement of her in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District.

Trump’s post came after Boebert joined Massie for campaign events in Kentucky on Saturday.

In the message, Trump called Boebert a “Carpetbagger” for switching districts, labeled her “weak-minded,” and described Massie as the “Worst ‘Republican’ Congressman in the History of our Country.”

Trump explicitly warned that he might pull his previous endorsement and back a primary challenger against her if a strong alternative steps forward.

The post read in full:

“Is anyone interested in running against Weak Minded Lauren Boebert in Colorado’s Fourth Congressional District? You remember Lauren moved to the District when it became obvious that she couldn’t win in her original Congressional District (The Third!) — A Carpetbagger, indeed! Boebert is campaigning for the Worst ‘Republican’ Congressman in the History of our Country, Thomas Massie, of the Great Commonwealth of Kentucky, and anybody who can be that dumb deserves a good Primary fight! Even though I long ago endorsed Boebert, if the right person came along, it would be my Honor to withdraw that Endorsement, and endorse a good and proper alternative. Boebert addressed the attack directly on X, while reaffirming her commitment to the MAGA movement.

The official filing deadline for major-party candidates to appear on the June 30 primary ballot was March 18.

That deadline has already passed by nearly two months.

Massie’s primary is this Tuesday.

House Speaker Mike Johnson was on “Fox News Sunday” with host Shannon Bream to talk about Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy’s primary loss.

The June 27th run-off between Rep Julia Letlow and State Treasurer John Fleming will determine who goes to the general election.

“Clearly, the President has the bully pulpit, and he made his wishes known, and now we go to a runoff,” Bream said.

“We do. I was there to vote yesterday, and I can tell you all my friends in Louisiana had a difficult choice. We had great candidates on the ballot. This morning, congratulated my two close friends, Julia Letlow and John Fleming,” Johnson said.

“It’s true that President Trump has a huge influence in our state, as he does still across the country, and you see that over and over in all these elections. It’s the most powerful endorsement in the history of politics, and it continues to be shown,” Johnson continued.

“One of the headlines this morning said that this win and the ousting of Senator Cassidy show that there is no room for dissent within the GOP. What do you make of that?” Bream asked.

“Well, I don’t know. You see dissent here every day. I mean, I deal with it all day long with the smallest margin in US history,” Johnson said.

“This is a vibrant party. It’s a strong party. We are in a great position to win the midterms, defy history, and win the midterms, and we are excited about that. Working every day to make sure that happens, so we can keep this agenda going to bring America back,” Johnson said.

“You know that generally the incumbent is punished in the midterms, and people are feeling very uncertain about how they are doing personally. How do you campaign against that?” Bream asked.

“Well, this relates to the last segment. We were talking about the Strait of Hormuz. Really, all points lead back to that. Gas prices are too high because of that, and that has an effect on how goods are transported to the grocery store and all the rest,” Johnson said.

“As soon as we get that straightened out, we will get back to the kitchen table issues, the economic issues that we’ve put in place to make the economy grow,” Johnson explained.

Speaker Johnson also talked about the Rededicate 250: A National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise & Thanksgiving event in Washington DC today. He defended America’s history and dedication to God, which is what made our country great. He will also be speaking at the event.

“This is a recognition of the deeply embedded history and religious and moral tradition of the country. This is an appropriate thing for us to do on the 250th anniversary, and the people who are upset about it oppose that. They want to erase the history of America and pretend as if we are not a nation that was dedicated originally to God,” Johnson explained.

“John Adams, the second President said, ‘our Constitution is made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other,’” Johnson said.

Rep Byron Donalds was on “Sunday Morning Futures” with host Maria Bartiromo to talk about his campaign for Governor of Florida. He also explained that he has President Donald Trump’s endorsement.

During the interview, Donalds discussed why so many Americans are leaving blue states because of high taxes.

Florida’s policies create a pro-business, lower-tax environment, which gives its residents greater economic freedom.

“Assess your campaign. How are things going?” Bartiromo asked.

“The campaign is going very well, Maria. Look, we are honored to have the complete and total endorsement of President Trump,” Donalds said.

“We have support all across Florida. All the metrics are right. Our polling advantages are large, but we take nothing for granted,” Donalds continued.

“We are around the State of Florida every single day that I’m not in Washington DC making sure that we are talking to the voters of Florida to earn their support,” Donalds continued.

“We do have some major opportunities in front of us to expand Florida’s economic footprint. Make sure we have high-paying jobs for the people of our state, while also tackling the major affordability issues,” Donalds said.

“How do you pay for everything when you don’t have all of those taxes?” Bartiromo asked.

“The first thing, Maria, is that you spend your money efficiently and smartly. We don’t waste many resources in Florida. We don’t get bogged down in a lot of bureaucratic mess the way California, New York, and Illinois do,” Donalds explained.

“And then the second thing is making sure that you prioritize a quality business environment with low regulation, low taxes, and allowing people to be free,” Donalds continued.

“Have you noticed the influx of wealth in Florida?” Bartiromo asked.

“Oh, absolutely. You travel this state, you’re seeing people from New York, from California, from Illinois. Starting to get some from Washington state,” Donalds said.

“At the end of the day, what people want is a state, they want a society that is free, that respects property rights, that respects economic liberty, and respects individual liberty. And that sums up Florida,” Donalds said.
