California woke billionaire and gubernatorial candidate Tom Steyer used a recent appearance on Jennifer Welch’s “I’ve Had It” podcast to forcefully back the inclusion of so called transgender athletes in high school sports. In the episode, which was released as part of Welch’s IHIP News feed, Steyer said, “I’m totally in favor of trans athletes in high school,” leaving no ambiguity about his position.

Steyer attempted to frame the issue primarily as a matter of protecting vulnerable teenagers, stupidly arguing that excluding so called transgender students from school sports would intensify the emotional and mental health struggles many already endure. He told Welch that when people “understand the vulnerability, the stress, the danger of being a trans kid,” and hear that “almost half of them try to commit suicide,” it is wrong to “punish those kids” by cutting them off from team sports.

Steyer added that, in his view, allowing so called transgender youth to play on school teams is a basic question of dignity and acceptance rather than a threat to competitive fairness. On the podcast and in follow-up comments to CBS Los Angeles, he dismissed the idea that transgender participation in youth sports represents a widespread crisis, saying, “To be clear, this is not some huge epidemic.”

Instead, he characterized the political firestorm over the issue as a “right-wing attempt to victimize and villainize already vulnerable and desperate people.” Steyer said his “heart completely goes out” to so called trans youth who, he argued, feel so rejected and unaccepted that many contemplate or attempt suicide. His remarks on Welch’s show came as he campaigns in a crowded field for governor of California, where debates over so called transgender rights and school sports have become a flashpoint in state politics.

By staking out an unequivocal stance in favor of including so called trans athletes, Steyer is aligning his gubernatorial bid with progressive activists who say school sports should be open to all students consistent with their gender identity as the majority of the nation has already rejected this sick and twisted position after the 2024 election.

Radical California Governor Gavin Newsom has vowed to impose a 100 percent tax on any payouts that California residents receive from President Donald Trump’s new $1.776 billion Anti-Weaponization Fund.

The fund, established by the Department of Justice as part of the settlement in Trump’s massive lawsuit against the IRS over the unlawful leaking of his tax returns, exists to compensate Americans who were targeted, harassed, and abused through lawfare and government weaponization.

Newsom doesn’t care. He wants every dime clawed back by the state.

During a press conference Wednesday, Newsom declared: “Anyone from California that receives any of those funds, we want to tax 100 percent of those proceeds.” He dismissed the entire effort as a “slush fund.”

On social media, he framed it even more crudely, calling it “Trump’s January 6 slush fund” and claiming people who assault cops don’t deserve a taxpayer-funded payday.

Newsom wrote:

States cannot selectively confiscate or tax federal compensation payments in this discriminatory manner simply because they dislike the policy or the recipients. This is raw political retaliation dressed up as tax policy.

Newsom is openly coordinating with other Democrat-run states.

Similar 100 percent tax bills are moving in New York and New Jersey. It is a coordinated blue-state effort to obstruct justice and protect the architects of past lawfare, according to Politico.

Texas authorities have captured six Chinese nationals wearing full camouflage as they attempted to illegally cross the southern border and evade detection on a private ranch in Maverick County near Eagle Pass.

U.S. Border Patrol agents, working with Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and K-9 units under Operation Lone Star, apprehended the group Tuesday night. The six Chinese nationals were part of a larger group of 12 illegal immigrants caught trying to slip through on private property.

Texas DPS Lt. Chris Olivarez posted the details on X on Wednesday:

“In a second apprehension later that night, U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended 12 illegal immigrants on a private ranch in Maverick County, including six Special Interest Aliens (SIAs) from China, all dressed in camouflage.”

Texas Governor Greg Abbott also weighed in on the incident Wednesday, highlighting the arrests as part of the state’s ongoing border crackdown operation.

Abbott wrote on X:

“Operation Lone Star continues nonstop to arrest illegal immigrants along our border.

Last night, Texas DPS helped track and apprehend Special Interest Aliens from China who were attempting to evade capture on private ranches in Maverick County.”

The Chinese nationals were designated Special Interest Aliens, a classification that triggers heightened security screening because of potential national security risks. The rest of the group included individuals from Mexico, Guatemala, India, Ecuador, and Cuba.

The Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) has arrested two Muslim women in Minnesota for defrauding American taxpayers of more than $21 million through a brazen scheme targeting the state’s autism services program.

Shamso Ahmed Hassan, 55, and Hanaan Mursal Yusuf, 25, both of Brooklyn Park, were taken into custody by HSI agents. Federal prosecutors say the pair submitted $46.6 million in fraudulent claims to Minnesota’s Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention (EIDBI) program — a Medicaid-funded service for children with autism — and pocketed approximately $21.1 million in taxpayer money for services that were never provided.

According to the DHS statement and indictment:

• Hassan was a beneficial owner of Smart Therapy Center LLC and Star Autism Center LLC but hid her ownership interests from Minnesota regulators as required.
• Yusuf worked as a provider and was heavily involved in operations and submitting claims.
• They paid illegal kickbacks to parents to enroll children.
• They billed for services that were never rendered, for children who didn’t qualify, and disguised the kickbacks by routing money through family members and employees — with some funds sent overseas.
• The scheme ran from at least May 2020 through December 2024.

“These Minnesota residents have been accused of stealing more than $21 million from the American taxpayer,” said Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis.

“They now face charges of conspiracy to commit health care fraud, EIGHT counts of health care fraud, and TWO counts of money laundering. Their Medicaid fraud scheme started during the COVID pandemic and lasted for four years. ICE continues to zero in on the rampant fraud in Minnesota. Under Secretary Mullin, we will end the defrauding of the American people.”

Both women are U.S. citizens (Hassan naturalized). They have pleaded not guilty and remain in federal custody.

As The Gateway Pundit has previously reported, the same Smart Therapy Center was at the center of an earlier massive fraud.

In late 2025, Asha Farhan Hassan (then 28), connected to the same operation, pleaded guilty to wire fraud after stealing $14 million from the exact same EIDBI autism program.

She was also tied to the infamous Feeding Our Future scandal, pocketing hundreds of thousands more in that $250+ million child nutrition fraud.

These cases are part of a much larger pattern of fraud by networks operating in Minnesota’s Somali community. The Gateway Pundit has reported how programs exploded under far-left Governor Tim Walz and Democrat policies, with little oversight, turning into personal piggy banks for fraudsters.

The Republican National Committee is celebrating a major victory for clean elections after a Wake County Superior Court judge ruled that North Carolina’s State Board of Elections violated the state constitution by letting people who have never lived in the Tar Heel State cast ballots in federal elections.

Special Superior Court Judge Hoyt Tessener sided with the RNC and North Carolina Republican Party this week, slamming the door on a loophole the previous Democrat-controlled elections board tried to keep open even after higher courts already shut it down for state races, according to Carolina Journal.

This is the latest in a string of wins for election integrity in North Carolina, and a direct rebuke to officials who thought they could quietly expand voting rights to non-residents.

Judge Tessener reaffirmed what the North Carolina Court of Appeals and Supreme Court had already made crystal clear: the state constitution requires residency to vote.

“Never residents” — U.S. citizens born abroad to parents or guardians who once lived in North Carolina but who themselves have never resided in the state — have no constitutional right to help pick North Carolina’s representatives in Congress or influence federal elections here.

The previous Democrat-led State Board of Elections had issued a directive allowing these never-residents to vote in both state and federal elections.

After the state Supreme Court struck down the practice for state and local races, the board stopped counting those ballots for state offices… but kept allowing them for federal contests.

The RNC and NCGOP, who brought the lawsuit, are rightly celebrating the ruling as a common-sense restoration of constitutional order.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) secured a legal victory after a North Carolina court ruled a state board of elections directive that a state law allowing certain individuals who have never resided in the state to register to vote was unconstitutional.

“This is a clear win for fair and lawful elections,” said RNC Chairman Joe Gruters. “The court upheld the North Carolina Constitution and made clear that only North Carolina residents can vote in the state. The RNC will keep fighting to ensure only eligible citizens can vote.”
