Dries Van Langenhove talks to the press after ‘hate speech’ court conviction via X

A controversial court ruling in Belgium is igniting outrage across Europe, after nationalist activist Dries Van Langenhove was convicted for delivering a lecture that cited crime statistics and criticized the impact of mass immigration—raising fresh concerns about the future of free speech on the continent.

The 33-year-old former member of parliament was found guilty by a Leuven court of “incitement to hatred” and “dissemination of ideas,” following a speech at KU Leuven in early 2024. Critics say the ruling sends a chilling message: even fact-based arguments can now be criminalized if they challenge the prevailing narrative.

Van Langenhove was fined €4,000 (approximately $4,300), adding to a growing list of legal penalties he has faced in recent years. He had previously been sentenced over content posted by others in a private group chat—an outcome his supporters say underscores a broader crackdown on dissent.

At the center of the case was a two-hour lecture that moved beyond its original topic to address migration, crime, and societal change. The speech touched on issues that millions of Europeans are increasingly concerned about—but which are often treated as taboo in official discourse.

Van Langenhove argued that mass immigration is linked to rising crime, housing shortages, and growing strain on public services. These claims, backed by statistics, formed the basis of the charges against him.

He also challenged the dominant explanation of inequality. Rather than accepting structural racism as the sole cause, he argued that differences between groups play a role—an argument widely debated but increasingly restricted in public forums.

“People are not equal, animals are not equal, plants are not equal,” he said during the lecture. The statement was seized upon by the court as evidence of wrongdoing.
Judges acknowledged that his statements were based on data and statistics. However, they ruled that presenting such facts in a way that could create a “hostile atmosphere” was sufficient to justify a conviction.

Crucially, the court made clear that direct incitement to violence was not required. It was enough, they argued, that speech could lead to a general sense of “intolerance.”

That standard, for critics, effectively dismantles meaningful free speech. It allows authorities to punish opinions based not on their truth, but on how they are perceived.

The ruling has reignited comparisons with the United States. Under the First Amendment, even controversial or offensive speech is protected unless it directly incites violence.

The U.S. Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy, Sarah B. Rogers, chimed in on the ruling, warning that policymakers worried about the rise of the so-called “far right” should stop criminalizing accurate, data-driven political speech about mass migration — as the Belgian court’s ruling against Dries Van Langenhove explicitly does. She argued that such prosecutions simply hand a monopoly on these issues to people willing to be labeled “racist,” giving them sole ownership of arguments that large segments of the public see as important and true.

In Europe, however, the legal framework is increasingly restrictive. Laws intended to combat discrimination are now being used, critics argue, to silence debate on migration and identity.

Van Langenhove responded forcefully. He insisted that everything in his lecture was factual and supported by evidence.

He also accused the judiciary of failing to present any real argument. According to him, the case was built entirely on subjective interpretations rather than objective proof.

“The only argument they present is that I created a ‘hostile atmosphere,’” he wrote. He dismissed the charge as vague and politically motivated.

The activist drew a clear distinction between people and policy. His criticism, he said, was aimed at the system enabling mass migration—not individuals themselves. “My enemy is not the migrants themselves but those orchestrating the mass migration,” he wrote. That framing reflects a broader call among nationalist movements for policy change rather than personal animosity.

Supporters argue the case is about more than one man. They see it as part of a wider effort to shut down discussion on remigration, national identity, and the consequences of open-border policies.

Across Europe, migration remains one of the defining issues of the time. Rising crime rates, housing shortages, and pressure on welfare systems are driving political change.

Many voters are demanding stricter policies, including remigration measures. Yet discussing these ideas openly is becoming increasingly difficult in some countries.

Critics say this creates a dangerous disconnect. The concerns of ordinary citizens are being pushed out of the public square.

At the same time, political elites continue to promote policies that many voters reject. This tension is reshaping European politics.

The Van Langenhove case reflects that broader struggle. It highlights the growing gap between institutional frameworks and public sentiment.

In countries like France, Germany, and the Netherlands, similar debates are intensifying. Nationalist movements are gaining ground, while establishment parties struggle to maintain control.

Some analysts warn that suppressing debate will only strengthen these movements. When mainstream platforms are closed off, alternative channels emerge.

Others point to the long-term risks. Restricting speech on fundamental issues may erode trust in democratic institutions.

The financial burden of the case also underscores the stakes. Van Langenhove has reportedly spent more than €420,000 (around $455,000) defending himself.

He is expected to face further legal proceedings in the coming months. His civil rights have already been restricted, limiting his political participation.

For many observers, the implications go far beyond Belgium. The case raises fundamental questions about who gets to define acceptable speech in modern Europe.

It also raises a broader issue: whether Western democracies can sustain open debate on the most pressing challenges they face.

As migration, identity, and sovereignty continue to dominate political discourse, cases like this are likely to become flashpoints.

The outcome may shape not only legal precedent, but the future of free speech in Europe itself.

President Trump holds a cabinet meeting at the White House – May 27, 2026

President Trump responded to the anti-ICE rioters at the Delaney Hall Detention Center in Newark, New Jersey, during a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, calling the demonstrations “fake” and “paid for.”

“It’s all paid-for protesters. You can see by the signs,” Trump said, shrugging off the lawlessness. “These aren’t protesters. These people are fake. They’re all paid for.”

DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin further responded to the Democratic lawmakers and New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill, who showed up to support the insurrection on Memorial Day, as well as reports that the illegal alien detainees at the ICE facility are holding a hunger strike.

Mullin slammed the Democrats for spending their Memorial Day with Antifa terrorists and advocating for rapists, child predators, murderers, and drug dealers. He further responded to Senator Andy Kim, complaining that he was exposed to nonlethal chemical irritants, used to disperse the lawless rioters. “I’m sorry. You probably shouldn’t have been there,” Mullin said.

Of the protests by aliens inside the facility, Mullin suggested that the hunger strike is only a “handful of individuals” who want to eat their ethnic foods, adding, “Well, they can go back to their country and get whatever food they want.”

WATCH:

Reporter: What’s your message to the New Jersey leaders pushing back against ICE operations at Delaney Hall?

Trump: Are you talking about ICE or about “NICE,” as I call it? NICE, the NICE facility. I’d love to change the name, call it NICE. They do a great job, and it’s all paid-for protesters. You can see by the signs! The signs are all made by the same beautiful factory. It’s a printing plant. In fact, I’m thinking about using it. They do such a nice job. These aren’t protesters. These people are fake. They’re all paid for. And I will tell you, Tom Homan, and that whole group, and now Markwayne is so incredible. Markwayne, you want to just respond to that?

We run the finest facilities anywhere in the world of their type, but we have some horrible killers. We have killers, we have guys that have murdered numerous people in there, and these are the people they’re trying to protect. There’s nobody that runs a facility like we do.

Mullin: Yeah, It shows that this radical left Democrats’ priorities when they decide to go out and protest a detention center, where we’re housing rapists, child predators, murderers, drug dealers, and they choose Memorial Day of all the days? Of all the time to go to go protest something that they say that they’re, that it’s because they’re on a hunger strike when there was only a handful of individuals that was refusing to eat because they want their ethnic group, or their ethnic right food? Well, they can go back to their country and get whatever food they want.

The fact is, we’re giving them the calories they want. This isn’t Holiday Inn. We’re giving sanitation, but for the Democrats and the Governor, like Governor Sherrill and Senator Kim and Senator Booker, to go out and do something like this of all the days is very frustrating. And we see Antifa signs are literally out there, the local police refusing, literally refusing to respond. They barricade it, not allowing our employees to come in and out, ICE has to go out there and remove the barricade, and then you have one of the senators complain because he got splattered with a, you know, a pepper ball. I’m sorry. You probably shouldn’t have been there.

All of the people funding and participating in the resistance, including the Democrats showing up and encouraging the violence, should be arrested on sedition charges. Unfortunately, all we get is strong words and warnings.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, rioters occupied the New Jersey ICE facility this week and were seen setting up barricades to block vehicles leaving the facility.

Instead of spending Memorial Day honoring our fallen troops, New Jersey Senator Andy Kim joined the rioters attacking law enforcement alongside New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill, and Reps. Rob Menendez, LaMonica McIver and Nellie Pou.

Senator Kim apparently came into contact with a chemical irritant deployed by ICE to disperse the crowds, and he was seen washing his eyes out during the chaos.

Portrait of a military officer in uniform beside a casual photo of the same person, showcasing a transition from formal to informal appearance.

As previously reported, a retired U.S. Air Force major general with ties to some of the military’s most sensitive aerospace programs disappeared without a trace in February.

Authorities say Retired Air Force Maj. Gen. William Neil McCasland, 68, vanished from his Albuquerque home on February 27 under circumstances that have raised serious questions, especially given his history with advanced military research and longstanding UFO speculation surrounding one of America’s most secretive bases.

On Wednesday, Law & Crime released bodycam audio of a woman telling law enforcement that McCasland had dinner with Space Force members just hours before he disappeared.

The woman told law enforcement that McCasland wasn’t his usual self at dinner.

“He was the head of Air Force Research Lab, to the point the man’s names are in the UFO documents that are fixed to be released so he has a very high security clearance,” a woman said in the audio obtained by Law & Crime.

“I work with Mr. McCasland on the Kirtland Partnership. He’s a board member,” she said.

“We had dinner Thursday evening at Cervantes off of Gibson, at six o’clock with Space Force. And what I noticed, I was shocked this morning when I saw the alert because what I noticed Thursday evening is he wasn’t his usual self. He was kind of spacey and quiet and you know that that happens with people,” she said.

Neil McCasland disappeared on February 27, 206.

“McCasland held senior roles in space research and acquisition, including leadership positions at the Air Force Research Laboratory and the National Reconnaissance Office, according to the Air Force. He held senior roles at the Pentagon and commanded the Phillips Research Site of the Air Force Research Laboratory at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico, and the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, according to the Air Force,” Fox News reported.

Monica Jacinto Reza: Disappeared June 22, 2025 while hiking with a friend in the Angeles National Forest.

“Reza, an aerospace engineer, was the co-creator of Mondaloy, a nickel-based alloy capable of withstanding the extreme heat of rocket engines. At the time of her disappearance, she was the Director of Materials Processing at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL),” Fox News reported.

Steven Garcia: Disappeared Aug. 28, 2025 and was last seen at his home in Albuquerque and captured on surveillance video carrying a handgun.

“Garcia was a government contractor tied to the Kansas City National Security Campus, a key facility responsible for producing the vast majority of non-nuclear components used in the U.S. nuclear weapons arsenal. His role reportedly gave him high-level security clearance and oversight of sensitive assets,” Fox News reported.

Carl Grillmair: Killed Feb. 16, 2026. He was shot and killed outside of his home in California.

“Grillmair had spent decades working on major NASA-backed missions, including the Hubble and Spitzer space telescopes, contributing to research on galactic structure, dark matter and the search for habitable planets,” Fox News reported.

Nuno Loureiro: Killed Dec. 15, 2025. He was shot at his home in Brookline, Massachusetts.

“Loureiro was a leading figure in fusion energy research, studying plasma physics and working on technologies aimed at harnessing near-limitless clean energy.”

New census projections are intensifying political debate in the United States, as data confirms the country is undergoing a rapid and historically unprecedented demographic shift—one that is increasingly shaping the national debate.

According to the latest figures, reported by the New York Post, the U.S. is on track to become a “majority-minority” nation by around 2050, marking a fundamental turning point in the country’s demographic makeup.

The scale of the transformation is stark. In 1980, roughly 80 percent of Americans identified as white; by mid-century, that figure is projected to fall to 47 percent, with further declines expected in the decades that follow.

What sets this shift apart is not just its magnitude, but its speed. Within the span of just a few generations, the demographic balance of the country is being reshaped in ways rarely seen in modern history.

At the state level, the impact is even more visible. By 2050, major states such as New York, New Jersey, and Florida are expected to see their white populations fall well below 50 percent.

In total, at least 16 states are projected to cross that threshold within the next two decades. By 2060, nearly half the country could be at or near that point.

The drivers behind the shift are well understood. Sustained immigration, combined with internal migration patterns and declining birth rates among native-born populations, are accelerating the pace of change.

For many Americans, the issue is no longer abstract. It is visible in local communities, schools, and housing markets, where rapid population change is already having tangible effects.

Critics argue that this transformation is not simply demographic—it is the direct result of decades of policy choices. They point to immigration levels, economic priorities, and a lack of long-term planning.

In their view, the pace of change has outstripped the ability of institutions to adapt. The result is growing pressure on infrastructure, public services, and social cohesion.

Supporters of current policies often describe the shift as a continuation of America’s historical openness. They argue that demographic change reflects the country’s identity as a nation of immigrants.

But that argument is increasingly contested. Opponents counter that scale and speed matter—and that rapid, unmanaged change can carry real economic and cultural consequences.

The debate is not happening in isolation. Across Europe, similar trends are unfolding, often with even sharper political fallout.

Countries such as Britain, France, Germany, and Sweden have experienced significant demographic shifts in recent years, largely driven by migration.

In many cases, these changes have coincided with rising political polarization. National identity, border control, and integration policies have become defining issues amid the rise of conservative-nationalist parties.

These right-wing political movements—all emphasizing sovereignty and stricter immigration controls—have gained massive traction during the last decade. At the same time, establishment parties have struggled to maintain public trust.

The United States is now entering a comparable phase. Demographic projections are becoming a central factor in political calculations and long-term strategy.

Analysts have long warned that rapid population shifts can strain housing markets, labor systems, and education infrastructure. These pressures are already visible in major metropolitan areas.

Furthermore, there is also a broader cultural dimension. Debates over national identity, shared values, and the direction of society are becoming increasingly widespread.

The uneven pace of change across states adds another layer of complexity. Some regions are transforming rapidly, while others remain relatively stable.

This creates a fragmented national picture, with different communities experiencing very different realities. It also complicates efforts to craft unified policy responses.

The broader Western context suggests that this is not a temporary issue. Demographic change—change that nobody voted for, and if given a choice, the public has shown they would vote against—is reshaping societies across multiple continents at the same time.

For many voters, the issue is increasingly tied to questions of governance and accountability. Who sets policy, and how those decisions are made, is becoming a central concern.

As the projections move closer to reality, the debate is expected to intensify. The data is no longer speculative—it is a roadmap of where current trends are heading. What remains uncertain is how governments will respond.

Former Boston Globe and Los Angeles Times Reporter Claims She Was Attacked with ‘Direct Energy Weapons’ at Her Home Over Epstein Reporting
May 27, 2026

Aerial view of a large luxury home with landscaped grounds, featuring a woman’s portrait in the foreground.

A veteran journalist who has spent months covering Jeffrey Epstein’s sprawling Zorro Ranch compound in New Mexico says she is permanently leaving the United States after suffering what she describes as two “direct energy weapon” attacks inside her home office in New Mexico.

Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez, a former Boston Globe and Los Angeles Times reporter turned bestselling novelist and independent investigator, announced her plan to flee the country in a post on her Substack last week.

The reporter claims the attacks left her with symptoms matching “Havana syndrome” and forced her to abandon her New Mexico residence immediately.

“Okay, folks. It appears my home has been located by, well, whomever is unhappy about my reporting about Zorro Ranch and the local cover up here and the military intelligence roots of the child sex trafficking operation Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell were running here in New Mexico,” Valdes-Rodriguez wrote.

The post continued, “This morning, I was hit in my home office by two episodes of what I later learned were likely Direct Energy Weapon attacks. Look up Havana Syndrome. My symptoms are consistent with such attacks, and entirely new. We wasted no time in leaving the house, for good. We will be staying in safe houses while we finish plans to permanently relocate abroad.”

“The hardest part will be transporting our pets. It is very expensive. I am going to set up a gofundme to help cover that expense and a security detail until we are out of the USA. Yes, it has come to this. We kind of figured it might,” the post concluded.

The U.S. Department of Defense defines DEWs as systems that use concentrated electromagnetic energy, rather than kinetic energy, to “incapacitate, damage, disable, or destroy enemy equipment, facilities, or personnel.”

The U.S. has researched DEWs since the 1960s, with billions invested. The first operational U.S. DE weapon was a 30 kW laser installed on the USS Ponce in 2014.

Other nations, including China, Russia, and Israel, are also actively developing DEWs.

Valdes-Rodriguez wrote in a later post that the attacks may have involved a “backpack-sized” device placed on or near her roof by “private military contractors” and a second incident from “the back of a large semi truck that parked across from my house.”

“These are the most cowardly weapons ever created. They attack you at your most vulnerable and trusting, in your home, in bed, and do not kill right away,” Valdes-Rodriguez wrote.

No police report or independent verification of the attacks has been made public.

Valdes-Rodriguez was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and built a respected career in mainstream journalism before transitioning to fiction and, more recently, independent investigative work.

Earlier this year, after the Department of Justice released millions of pages of previously unseen Epstein files, Valdes-Rodriguez began systematically combing through the documents with a laser focus on Epstein’s 7,500-acre Zorro Ranch, now renamed Rancho de San Rafael, located roughly 30 miles outside Santa Fe.

Key elements of her Zorro Ranch investigations include claims that Epstein hired Bradbury Stamm Construction, New Mexico’s largest industrial contractor, known for building facilities at the state’s nuclear weapons labs to construct the remote ranch.

The firm’s phone number appeared in Epstein’s personal contacts.

Valdes-Rodriguez linked this to Ghislaine Maxwell’s father, Robert Maxwell, and alleged Israeli intelligence penetration of U.S. nuclear programs in the 1980s.

Additionally, she reported on a still-active private microwave communications license at the property and its strategic location forming a near-perfect triangle with the two top-secret nuclear labs. She has alleged the ranch may have been used for surveillance operations.

Drawing on FBI tips and DOJ files, she has reported on allegations of buried victims, “two foreign girls,” young girls allegedly raped at the ranch, and possible disappearances of American scientists tied to the area.

Valdes-Rodriguez also reported that former U.S. Attorney for New Mexico John J. Kelly served as Epstein’s personal power of attorney for the 1993 purchase of the ranch from then-Governor Bruce King.

Kelly has denied any knowledge of Epstein’s crimes and called the insinuations “categorically false.”

She also highlighted the Zorro Trust’s $85 million Oklahoma Lottery win shortly after Epstein’s 2008 prison stint.

The New York Post, which reported on her claims, noted there is “no known public evidence supporting her allegations” and reached out for comment, with none received as of publication. However, Valdes-Rodriguez responded to the report on her Substack, accusing the writer of being an Israeli operative.

The Gateway Pundit will continue following this story and provide additional information as it becomes available.
