Most polls in Texas closed at 8 pm ET.

In Denton County, 62% of the vote totals were released at the top of the hour, showing Paxton winning 62.4% to Cornyn’s 37.6%.

Vice President JD Vance hosts anti-fraud roundtable with state Attorneys General – May 26, 2026

Vice President JD Vance on Tuesday spoke at an anti-fraud roundtable with state attorneys general and White House officials, where he told reporters that his team has identified staggering amounts of fraud totaling tens of billions of dollars.

Vance, the Chairman of the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, and Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson, the Task Force Vice Chair, held a roundtable on Tuesday with over a dozen State Attorneys General to discuss the Trump Administration’s nationwide crackdown on federal benefits fraud.

After brief remarks from Vance, Ferguson, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, and Assistant Attorney General for the National Fraud Division Collin McDonald, they held a private meeting with the attorneys general.

Vance opened his remarks by highlighting the work his team has accomplished to date.

“We exposed billions of dollars in benefits that had been stolen from the American people,” he said, revealing the following:

  • Over $22 billion in fraudulent small business loans
  • More than $1.3 billion in fraudulent Medicaid reimbursements
  • $6.3 billion in suspected fraudulent government contracts
  • $60 million in student aid fraud

He further told reporters that $135 billion has been stolen since the aftermath of the COVID pandemic.

WATCH:

Vance: One of the things we’ve realized in combating fraud is that the resources of the federal government, while vast, can be supplemented and aided by a lot of the people who know best what’s happening in their states, which is the attorneys general represented here today, and they have a lot of legal resources, they have a lot of prosecutorial resources, and of course they have the desire to prevent fraud as much as we do, and so I appreciate these leaders for being here because we’re going to work together, state and federal government, to try to combat fraud.

I am particularly gratified here that this is not a partisan effort. I believe we have a couple of representatives from the Attorney Generals in Connecticut and Oregon, and as I have said repeatedly, this does not need to be, this should not be a partisan effort. Everybody should care about fraud, everybody should care about rooting out fraud. Everybody should care about saving the American taxpayers money, and importantly, everybody should care about actually protecting the programs that only work and are only properly funded if it’s not— if the money funding those programs isn’t being stolen by fraudsters.

So, let me just recap, for the benefit of our friends in the media, in just two months, we exposed billions of dollars in benefits that had been stolen from the American people. We referred over $22 billion in fraudulent small business loans back to the Treasury for collection. We deferred more than $1.3 billion in fraudulent Medicaid reimbursements that were coming from various states, particularly California. We put a six month hold on enrollments for new hospice and home health care providers because so many of the newer hospice providers were not actually providing hospice services, but were just focused on fraud. So, we’re going to cut that out for a little bit and try to get to a place where we can actually certify that the people providing hospice services are actually providing those very necessary and important services.

We’ve recover taxpayer funds from the $135 billion stolen after the floodgates were open in the immediate aftermath of COVID. We have found $6.3 billion in suspected fraudulent government contracts, which were mostly awarded during the last administration, and that has stopped. And finally, we blocked $60 million in student aid fraud that should have gone to young people trying to get an education, but instead we’re going to fraudsters. And I think the theme here of the anti-fraud task force up to this point has really been that we’re protecting two classes of victims here. We’re protecting the American taxpayers, who shouldn’t have their money stolen by fraudsters, and of course we’re protecting the people who need these services. Fraud is not a victimless crime.

This is not somebody who gets to make some money for violating the law, and otherwise it’s not a big deal. This is people who rely on critical services, students who rely on student loan services, sick people who rely on hospice care, a number of small businesses who rely on the availability of these loans, so that they can grow their business and hire people. All of these people, all of our fellow Americans, have been taken advantage by fraudsters, and the task force is here to stop it.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Vance went on to tell a horrifying story about how a fraudster effectively killed a man, neglecting his duties as a Medicaid-reimbursed caretaker while getting rich off the reimbursements. The victim “lived his final moments on this earth neglected, while a fraudster got rich by providing services that he never actually provided,” Vance said.

SHOWDOWN IN LONE STAR STATE: Cornyn Calls on Support from Democrats — Paxton Leading Big in Prediction Polls – Voting Ends at 8 Central
May 26, 2026

Two Texas politicians speaking at an event, with one in a dark suit and pink tie, and the other in a striped suit, both engaged in a serious discussion.

The Showdown in the Lone Star State, the Texas Senate primary runoff election, is today. The polls close at 8 Central.

This brutal runoff became necessary after neither candidate crossed the 50% threshold during the March primary. But what a difference a few weeks makes. The entire landscape of this race shattered just days ago when President Donald J. Trump officially threw his massive weight behind Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

On Sunday, President Trump put the final nail in the coffin of the establishment’s desperate campaign, blasting the ultimate RINO Senator, John Cornyn, as “VERY disloyal.” Trump urged a massive turnout for the America First champion, Ken Paxton, to purge the Senate of another backstabbing establishment hack.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, President Trump shifted the entire tectonic plates of Texas politics when he broke his neutrality to officially endorse Paxton last week. The MAGA faithful immediately responded to the call.

According to the latest SoCal Strategies poll conducted between May 20 and 21, just days after the bombshell Trump endorsement, Ken Paxton is completely dominating with a massive 21-point lead over Cornyn.

Even more devastating for the Cornyn campaign: Paxton is absolutely dominating in prediction markets and betting odds, with markets giving him a crushing 96%+ chance of victory.

Now, Cornyn is reportedly begging Democrats and left-wing moderates to cross over and sabotage the Republican primary runoff.

There’s no doubt that John Cornyn is reaching out to those who did not vote in the Republican primary or the Democratic primary, and he’s trying to reach out to Democrats, encouraging them to come vote for him.

One of the reasons he likes having open primaries—which I oppose—is that I believe we should have closed primaries, where only Republicans who have registered as Republicans can vote in the Republican primary, so Democrats cannot influence Republican primaries. John is reaching out to Democrats to try to get them to vote for him because he knows they are more sympathetic to him.”

Texas Officials Find 20 Illegal Aliens Hiding Inside Semi-Truck (VIDEO)
May 26, 2026

Law enforcement officers apprehend individuals near a large truck, highlighting issues of human trafficking and border security.

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) found 20 illegal aliens hiding inside a semi-truck in Laredo.

According to Texas DPS, the driver, an illegal alien from Mexico, attempted to flee on foot during the traffic stop.

The driver was charged with evading arrest and smuggling of persons.

The illegal aliens were turned over to Border Patrol.

Statement from Texas DPS spokesman Chris Olivarez:

On Monday, May 18, 2026, just after 6:00 p.m., a DPS Trooper conducted a traffic stop on a white Volvo truck tractor on IH-35 near mile marker 28.

During the stop, the driver attempted to flee on foot but was immediately arrested. A search of the Volvo revealed 20 illegal immigrants concealed in the truck tractor’s sleeping area.

The driver, Miguel Angel Velazquez Chavez, 25, a Mexican national, was charged with evading arrest and smuggling of persons.

He was booked into the Webb Co. Jail. The 20 illegal immigrants, including four minors, from Mexico and Guatemala, were referred to the United States Border Patrol.

DPS’ Criminal Investigations Division (CID) continues to investigate the case.

Vice President JD Vance hosts anti-fraud roundtable with state Attorneys General – May 26, 2026

Vice President JD Vance on Tuesday told a horrifying story about how fraud affects the most vulnerable among us while speaking at an anti-fraud roundtable, revealing that an elderly man was killed due to a Medicaid fraudster’s neglect.

After brief remarks from the White House officials, they held a private meeting with the Attorneys General.

Before closing his public remarks, Vance emphasized that the fraud schemes “are not victimless crimes,” reminding the country of what consequences fraud victims could face, including death.

In a recent indictment in Minnesota, Vance said, a man who was being reimbursed by the Medicaid program to provide services to elderly patients, “was providing nothing, no services, no help, no check-ins.”

Because of this, one of his patients under his watch died “after months of being neglected by the caretaker who was getting reimbursed by the American people.”

Still, one day before the man died, the fraudster submitted another reimbursement for “services he never provided for a man he never cared for.”

“That man lived his final moments on this earth neglected, while a fraudster got rich by providing services that he never actually provided. That’s what we’re trying to stop, ladies and gentlemen. That’s what we have to fight back against,” Vance told reporters.

WATCH:

Vance: These are not victimless crimes. Sometimes, the most vulnerable people in our community are the ones who suffer when we don’t take fraud seriously. One of the cases that was part of Collin’s series of indictments last week in Minnesota stood out to me and I think highlights how particularly egregious some of these fraudsters can be. And it’s a man who was supposed to be providing services to allow elderly people to live full and independent lives.

And what happened instead is that the man who was supposed to provide these services, reimbursed by the Medicaid program, was providing nothing, no services, no help, no check-ins. And the very man, the vulnerable elderly man that he was supposed to be protecting and looking after, was reimbursed by the taxpayer in order to do exactly that, that man died. And one day before he died, after months of being neglected by the caretaker who was getting reimbursed by the American people, one day before he died, he submitted his final reimbursement for services he never provided for a man he never cared for.

And that man lived his final moments on this earth neglected, while a fraudster got rich by providing services that he never actually provided. That’s what we’re trying to stop, ladies and gentlemen. That’s what we have to fight back against. It’s a shame that anything like that happens, but if it does happen, the only way to protect those people and the only way to protect the American taxpayer is to ensure that the fraudsters go to prison and that they stop this ridiculous scam on the American people.

Such fraud schemes across the nation are responsible for billions of dollars in stolen tax dollars through fraudulent loans, reimbursement claims, and payments.

President Trump tasked the Vice President in March with leading the White House’s Fraud Task Force and investigations into the various schemes to defraud the federal government.
