Felix Rosenqvist of Sweden won the closest Indy 500 in history on Sunday afternoon.

He beat David Malukas by 0.0233 seconds.

The AP reported:

Felix Rosenqvist swung to the outside of David Malukas, then found a way past the Team Penske driver to win the closest Indianapolis 500 in history by a margin of 0.0233 seconds Sunday.

Malukas looked to be in position to win when he passed the race leader Marcus Armstrong off the final restart with one lap to go while Rosenqvist and Armstrong, teammates with Meyer Shank Racing, fought wheel to wheel down the back straightaway and through the fourth and final turn.

But Rosenqvist had just enough power to pull away from Armstrong and snake behind Malukas before making the decisive outside pass in the final 50 feet.

The closest previous finish came in 1992 when Al Unser Jr. beat Scott Goodyear across the yard of bricks by 0.043 seconds.

Felix Rosenqvist swung past David Malukas in the final turn and ended the race with a photo finish win.

Busch passed away on Thursday at the age of 41 due to complications of a sepsis infection.

The possibility that a plane will hit you as you paraglide is small – but never zero.

It was supposed to be a beautiful and relaxing day in the Austrian hills, but as Sabrina flew her paraglider, danger came flying.

Shocking footage has arisen showing the moment a small plane tore through her paraglider’s canopy midair, sending her spiraling through the sky, before a miraculous landing had her safely on the ground.

The New York Times reported:

“The paraglider, a 44-year-old woman named Sabrina, posted footage of her flying near the scenic Schmittenhöhe mountain in northern Austria Saturday afternoon when a small sightseeing plane suddenly plows right through her rig — just feet above her head.

She screams as she starts to spin out of control, desperately trying to deploy her emergency parachute, harrowing footage shows. The canopy appears to have been split in half after it was struck.”

The paraglider was able to pull her rescue parachute and land safely shortly after the incident on Saturday.

“She was somehow able to get untangled and deploy the emergency chute as she plummeted towards Earth.

Her camera captured her finally landing hard with a loud grunt.”

“’May 23, 2026 Happy 2nd Birthday to me’ — with congratulations on her own ‘second birthday’, the paraglider (44) who survived a mid-air collision with a Cessna in Salzburg on Saturday is now reaching out to the public. And that’s with just ‘a few nasty bruises’, as she herself writes in the caption to the video showing the entire incident from her perspective.

‘The day a Cessna 172 knocks you out of the sky while you’re paragliding… I still can’t believe I’m sitting here typing this and that, aside from a few nasty bruises and some general soreness, nothing really happened’.”

National Economic Council (NEC) Director Kevin Hassett was on “Sunday Morning Futures” with guest host Jackie DeAngelis to talk about the state of the economy in the US.

“The stock market is soaring. There is no doubt about that. There is optimism about AI, corporate earnings. Everything seems great but you’ve got the pesky problem of high oil prices, which translates at the pump for consumers,” DeAngelis said.

“The President is saying that a deal appears to be near finalization. How quickly can consumers expect to feel some relief?” DeAngelis asked.

“As soon as a deal is reached, then the straits are open and oil starts flowing again,” Hassett said.

“As people are getting ready to get their oil refineries going back to full capacity and everything, then there is just basically a gusher of oil that can come out,” Hassett commented.

Director Hassett explained that one of the signs showing that oil prices will soon drop is the way people are investing in the market. The expectation that prices will drop is evident in the spot market.

“We’ve already seen signs that people are a little bit wary about buying oil on the spot market right now because they expect the price to drop a lot sometime soon,” Hassett continued.

“As soon as we get energy prices going back down, you could actually be looking at negative inflation because of the energy price going down,” Hassett continued.

“I think you are right and I’ve been covering oil and gas for years, so I’ve seen these moves higher, and also these moves lower,” DeAngelis commented.

“We are heading into the peak of the Summer driving season, so would you caution consumers that the Summer could be a little bit bumpy as the details of this deal are finalized? They might feel a little more pain at the pump but maybe come fall they will feel some relief?” DeAngelis asked.

“Don’t forget that the people who are buying energy are then selling it over months and they know that prices are going down,” Hassett said.

“At the beginning the naysayers said that the oil price would be way above 150 if we shut the straits, and here we are you know, a little bit below 100,” Hassett continued.

“Don’t forget that US production has never been higher and so the US economy is actually not the economy that is most impacted by all this. It’s the Asian economy,” Hassett commented.

Racecar drivers honored Kyle Busch on Sunday on lap 18 of the Indy 500 in a nod to his number.

Two-time NASCAR champion Kyle Busch passed away on Thursday.

He was only 41 years old.

“The medical evaluation provided to the Busch Family concluded that severe pneumonia progressed into sepsis, resulting in rapid and overwhelming associated complications,” the Busch family said on Saturday.

The Associated Press reported that Kyle Busch was found unresponsive in a racing simulator in Concord, North Carolina, the day before he died.

The 911 call revealed Kyle Busch was coughing up blood before he passed away.

“I’ve got an individual that’s shortness of breath, very hot, thinks he’s going to pass out and is producing a little bit of blood — coughing up some blood,” the 911 caller said.

The Associated Press on Sunday afternoon reported that Felix Rosenqvist of Sweden won the closest Indianapolis 500 in history by a margin of 0.0233 seconds.

Senator Ron Johnson appeared on “Sunday Morning Futures” with guest host Jackie DeAngelis to discuss DHS funding.

Senator Johnson blasted the Democrats, particularly Senator Schumer, for his role in the last government shutdown.

Funding for ICE and Border Patrol is currently stalled in the Senate as lawmakers work to push through a reconciliation package.

“It is fair to say right now it feels like the party is a little fractured. How do you get unity back intact?” DeAngelis asked about Republicans.

“It is beyond galling to listen to Senator Schumer, who shut down the government for 42 days, who led his conference to defund ICE and CBP,” Senator Johnson said.

“After they opened the borders, created this enormous mess. They are sabotaging all Republican efforts to try and clean up that mess,” Johnson continued.

“They are the reason that we even have to do this reconciliation. I was always for a completely focused bill that only funded ICE, only funded CBP,” Johnson said.

“The timing of the weaponization fund was unfortunate, but I completely support it. Under the Biden administration, there was a massive amount of weaponization of government against ordinary citizens,” Johnson explained.

“I think this fund is needed. I think it’s only in fairness when you have such massive weaponization against ordinary citizens. Something should be there,” Johnson continued.

“Let’s move on to the ballroom because there is an issue about funding for security purposes,” DeAngelis said.

Senator Johnson explained the importance of having a ballroom at the White House for national security.

“I also support funding for that national security component of that. What’s going to be underneath that ballroom, again, I don’t want to talk further about it than that,” Johnson said.

“But there is certainly a national security component. And listen, I’m a big fiscal hawk. When government is going to spend money, I don’t mind them spending it on infrastructure that is going to be around for decades that also is involved in national security,” Johnson said.

“Let’s fund ICE. Let’s fund CBP. It’s Democrats that are preventing that from happening. They are the ones that want to defund law enforcement just in general,” Johnson said.
