Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Approves an ILLEGAL POWER GRAB Over Early Voting.

America First Legal addressed an unlawful act by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors to set up early voting drop boxes.

Arizona law is crystal clear.

A.R.S. § 16-542(A):

“The county recorder may establish… early voting locations… the recorder deems necessary.”

ONLY the recorder. NOT the board.

Setting up unauthorized drop boxes is a class 5 felony under A.R.S. § 16-1005(E).

Collecting early ballots without the Recorder’s authority is a class 6 felony under A.R.S. § 16-1005(H).

The law does not let the board create its own ballot drop-off system during early voting.

If Maricopa County officials want early-voting drop boxes, they must be established through the county recorder — the official Arizona law entrusts with that authority.

This isn’t a technicality — it’s a direct assault on the separation of powers and voter trust.

The board cannot seize power Arizona law gives to the recorder.

AFL has put the board’s lawyers on notice.

Note that the Board did approve the drop boxes in the meeting on May 20.  According to Grok:

The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved Vote Centers and 12 monitored Drop Box locations for the July 21, 2026 Primary Election during their formal meeting on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 (not May 22).

  • This included 237 Vote Centers for Election Day and 12 monitored Drop Boxes for early ballots.
  • The vote followed a dispute with County Recorder Justin Heap, whose attorney sent a letter challenging the Board’s authority and warning of potential criminal liability (e.g., ballot harvesting) for using “unauthorized” drop boxes. The Board proceeded anyway, calling the threats inappropriate.
  • Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes later sided with the Board, rejecting Heap’s interpretation.

It’s good to know someone is standing up for the rule of law and the people of Maricopa County.

MSNOW spent Saturday doing what the left has done for years: taking a normal political fight and trying to turn it into a racial crisis.

The topic was redistricting in South Carolina, where Republicans have advanced a congressional map aimed at unseating Rep. James Clyburn, the powerful Democrat who has represented the state’s 6th Congressional District since 1993.

The South Carolina House approved the GOP-backed map, which still faces the state Senate, and the proposal would also delay the state’s congressional primaries from June to August.

Clyburn is South Carolina’s only Democrat in Congress and the state’s only black member of Congress. That fact became the entire basis of MSNOW’s argument.

The network framed the Republican map as an attack on black voting power, a threat to democracy, and part of some broader racial scheme. But the basic reality is much simpler: Republicans are targeting Clyburn because he is a Democrat, not because he is black.

Political redistricting may be aggressive. It may be self-interested. It may even be bad policy in some cases. But calling every partisan move racist is exactly how Democrats have destroyed the meaning of racism in American politics.

Race is not the motivation every time a Republican tries to defeat a Democrat. Sometimes politics is just politics.

Democrats constantly claim they are the party trying to end redistricting abuse. Every time Republicans redraw congressional maps, the left immediately calls it a threat to democracy, an attack on minority voters, and proof that the GOP cannot win without manipulating district lines.

But when Democrats actually put their own redistricting proposal on paper, the claim falls apart.

The Redistricting Reform Act of 2024 does not end political manipulation in redistricting. It simply changes the language used to justify it. The bill bans mid-decade redistricting unless a court or certain laws require another map, and it says states cannot draw congressional districts that materially favor or disfavor a political party.

On the surface, that sounds like a serious effort to limit partisan gerrymandering. In reality, the bill builds in a major loophole by making race-based redistricting one of the highest priorities in the entire process.

The text requires districts to comply with the Voting Rights Act, but then goes much further. It directs states to create districts where two or more protected groups can work together to elect their preferred candidates.

It also says mapmakers must protect a racial or ethnic group’s “practical ability” to nominate and elect preferred candidates, even when that group does not make up a majority of the district’s population, voting-age population, or citizen voting-age population.

The bill even tells mapmakers to consider whether a group is politically cohesive, whether there is racially polarized voting, and whether crossover support from other voters allows the group to function as an electoral majority.

In plain English, the bill allows officials to examine how racial groups vote, determine which candidates those groups prefer, and draw districts to protect that political result.

That is why MSNOW’s framing is so dishonest. The network’s guests argued that South Carolina Republicans were diluting black voting power because many black voters in Clyburn’s district support Democrats.

But correlation is not intent. If black voters overwhelmingly support Democrat candidates, then a map that weakens Democrat power may indirectly affect black Democrat voters.

There is a major difference between targeting a race and targeting a party.

The truth is that gerrymandering is an ugly feature of American politics, but both parties use it. A congressional district does not belong to one race. A seat in Congress does not belong to one party.

Voters should choose representatives based on ideas, values, and political beliefs, not on the assumption that every racial group must elect someone of the same race.

The latest episode of The Patriot Perspective turned attention to Cuba, arguing that the communist regime just 90 miles from Florida remains one of the most serious long-term threats in the Western Hemisphere.

The episode framed Cuba not as an isolated Cold War relic, but as part of a much larger geopolitical struggle involving China, Russia, Venezuela, and the future of American influence in the region.

The discussion made clear that Cuba’s communist system is deeply entrenched, meaning any potential transition would be far more complicated than replacing one leader.

The Cuban Communist Party’s bureaucracy and the powerful state-run military business network known as GAESA control massive portions of the country’s economy, including utilities, oil, military assets, and other key sectors.

Any serious U.S. strategy toward Cuba would have to account for that internal power structure.

“You’re going to have to basically force their hand into certain policy changes like opening up the markets, stopping cooperation with Russia and China, and allowing for some sort of free elections,” one of the hosts said.

The episode also focused on Cuba’s leadership, including Raúl Castro’s remaining influence and the role of Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel.

The discussion described Díaz-Canel as ideologically committed to communism and unlikely to accept reforms that would fundamentally shift Cuba away from its current alignment.

The show suggested that the United States may eventually need to identify more pragmatic figures inside the Cuban system who could be willing to compromise. That strategy would aim to prevent total chaos while still weakening the hardline communist leadership.

The discussion compared the potential situation in Cuba to Venezuela, where the Trump administration took a much tougher approach toward the Maduro regime.

The argument was that regime pressure must be handled carefully so hostile governments do not collapse into instability while still remaining dangerous to the United States.

“The main purpose behind that is to ensure that that regime doesn’t spiral out of control,” one host said, comparing the concern to Libya, where the collapse of government authority helped create years of instability and suffering.

The episode made clear that Cuba’s geographic location makes the issue especially urgent.

A hostile communist regime aligned with America’s foreign adversaries cannot be treated as a distant problem.

The hosts warned that if Cuba were ever to acquire significant military resources from Russia or China, including drones, the threat could reach Florida, Louisiana, Texas, Puerto Rico, and other nearby regions.

“That is a nightmare scenario,” one host said, arguing that the United States must stop such a threat before it grows.

The episode closed by arguing that American leadership must take both Venezuela and Cuba seriously.

Under a Republican administration, pressure on hostile regimes in the Western Hemisphere could protect American interests. Under a future Democrat administration, the hosts warned, those gains could be reversed.

The episode made one point clear: Cuba is not simply a humanitarian tragedy or a relic of communist history. It is a strategic threat sitting at America’s doorstep, and Washington cannot afford to ignore it.

Medea Benjamin and Hasan Piker.

As you may have heard, back in March, Medea Benjamin of Code Pink, far left influencer Hasan Piker and others, traveled to Cuba. It was basically a political operation. They claimed they were there to show solidarity with the people of Cuba, but they were really just celebrating communism, which they think is great for some reason.

Now they are facing federal scrutiny over the trip and have been served subpoenas. It’s all fun and games until you’re the target of a federal investigation, right?

They will naturally, paint themselves as victims here, but no one forced them to make this journey.

FOX News reports:

Feds subpoena Hasan Piker, Medea Benjamin over Cuba trips

Federal officials have served subpoenas to Marxist political influencer Hasan Piker and CodePink cofounder Susan Medea Benjamin as part of a wider investigation into whether U.S. organizations and leaders violated U.S. laws and sanctions in supporting Cuba’s communist regime, Fox News Digital has learned.

Piker and Benjamin are among those caught in a federal inquiry into whether activists who traveled to Cuba in March violated U.S. sanctions laws through the financing, coordination or delivery of goods to Cuba, including potential contacts with Cuban government personnel or entities on the island. The administrative subpoenas were sent to the pair by the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control

The administrative subpoenas — called “Requests for Information,” or RFI — seek financial, logistical and communications information revolving around trips the two widely bragged about making to the island nation in March with delegations of the “Nuestra América Convoy,” or “Our America Convoy,” from a global network of communist sympathizers, activists and influencers who brought supplies to the country’s ruling Communist Party of Cuba, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The investigation is part of a broader effort by officials at Treasury, State and Justice departments to curb malign foreign influence operations inside the United States, particularly activities tied to support for political violence, extremist movements or acts the U.S. government classifies as terrorism.

Piker has already responded to this news on Twitter/X.

So has Medea Benjamin.

They are clearly not seeing how serious this is. Time to lawyer up.

WINNING: U.S. Army Meets 2026 Recruiting Goals Four Months Ahead of Schedule

Do you recall how the U.S. Military struggled to meet recruitment goals un Joe Biden? Those days are clearly over.

On Pete Hegseth’s watch, under President Trump, the armed forces are having no trouble at all getting new recruits to sign up. The Army just met its goals four months ahead of schedule.

It’s so funny to think back to the hissy fit that was thrown by Democrats and the media when Trump announced he wanted Pete Hegseth for the War Department. They acted like it was the end of the world.

FOX News reports:

US Army hits 2026 recruiting goals four months early, Pete Hegseth announces at West Point commencement

The United States Army reached its recruiting goals for 2026 four months early, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth revealed during a commencement speech Saturday at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York.

“Recruitments are up across the joint force, and I’m pleased to announce that, just two days ago, the U.S. Army met its 2026 recruiting goals four months early,” Hegseth said.

“A second record year in a row. That means you’re about to train this group right here and lead 61,500 new soldiers. And next year, when we grow the size of the army, it will be even more when you’re out there in your formations as platoon leaders at the tip of the spear. You will be at the tip of the spear of their snapback.”

In 2025, the Army set a goal of 61,000 and exceeded it with 62,050, according to the Pentagon.

“The men and women who chose to serve our nation are actively showing their commitment to something larger than themselves,” Command Sgt. Maj. Danny Basham, United States Army Recruiting Division command sergeant major, said in a statement. “The nation depends on their strength, character and commitment.”

This is fantastic news.

Congratulations to Pete Hegseth, the Trump administration, and the U.S. Army!
