Fox News anchor Trace Gallagher could hardly believe the numbers he was reading on air as early returns from California’s gubernatorial primary came in Tuesday night.

In deep blue Los Angeles County — one of the most reliably Democrat strongholds in the entire country — Republican candidate Steve Hilton is overperforming in a MAJOR way.

GALLAGHER: “This is the statewide numbers but in L.A. County, we have 51% of the vote is in and Xavier Becerra has 29.2% of the vote, Steve Hilton has what again, Alec?” [Pauses] “22.6%, and 22.4% for Tom Steyer.”

GALLAGHER: “This is just in Los Angeles County. In DEEP blue Los Angeles County.”

GALLAGHER: “You see the blue right there? Well the deep blue area, Steve Hilton with 51% of the vote in is at 22.6%.”

GALLAGHER: “He’s ahead of Tom Steyer and he is behind Xavier Becerra, but holy cow, Kevin! That to me is very telling about this election.”

At the time of this writing, the numbers became even more remarkable as additional votes were counted.

According to live election returns from Los Angeles County with 61.7% of the vote reporting, Xavier Becerra led the field with 29.3% of the vote (338,092 votes), while Republican Steve Hilton surged to 22.7% (262,273 votes), narrowly edging out billionaire Democrat Tom Steyer, who received 22.3% (257,141 votes).

The updated results show Hilton not only holding his own in one of the most Democrat-dominated counties in America, but actually outperforming several prominent Democrat candidates in the race.

This stunning showing comes just hours after The Gateway Pundit reported that Steve Hilton has taken the lead in the statewide race as ballots continue to pour in.

Former reality TV star Spencer Pratt will advance into the November general election runoff for Los Angeles mayor.

With roughly 50 percent of the expected vote counted early Wednesday morning, Bass led with approximately 36-37 percent while Pratt pulled in a strong 29.2 percent.

Progressive City Councilmember Nithya Raman trailed far behind in third at 21.4 percent.

Under California’s top-two primary system, Bass and Pratt will face off in November, giving Pratt five more months to campaign.

Pratt decided to run on cleaning up the city after becoming fed up with rampant crime, homelessness, and losing his home in the devastating 2025 wildfires, which he, and many others, largely blame on incumbent Mayor Karen Bass’ extreme failures.

Though the election is non-partisan, with no listed parties, Pratt is personally a registered Republican.

The Hills star’s Pacific Palisades home was destroyed in last year’s wildfires. He announced his bid on the one-year anniversary of the destruction, positioning himself as the candidate who lost everything to government incompetence and is now fighting to fix it.

Pratt campaigned on aggressive homeless sweeps, tougher policing, business revival, and accountability for the Bass administration’s handling of disasters and street disorder.

Around 10:20 p.m. Tuesday night at his watch party at Don Antonio’s Mexican restaurant, Pratt stepped outside to address reporters after early results showed him advancing.

In a fiery statement to the gathered press, Pratt declared, “I didn’t know I’d be here tonight, but this is obviously God’s plan, and I’m going to go all the way, and I’m going to show everybody that I’m their mayor.”

Pratt also declared, “The Communists already lost.”

Clips of his statement quickly went viral across social media.

Earlier on election day, Pratt released a hard-hitting video blasting city leadership on affordability and economic growth, emphasizing his focus on boosting commerce and local prosperity.

California Republican gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton took the lead late Tuesday evening, a few hours after the polls closed.

President Trump endorsed Steve Hilton this week.

“CALIFORNIA: Vote today for Steve Hilton for Governor. He will work with me and the Federal Government, the money will flow because I have confidence in him (but not any of the others!), and we will MAKE CALIFORNIA GREAT AGAIN. Steve Hilton will NEVER let you down. VOTE NOW!” Trump said on Monday evening ahead of the primary.

Democrat Xavier Becerra is currently in second position as ballots continue to pour in.

NBC’s Steve Kornacki said the Democrats would need a flood of ballots to lift up Democrat candidates Xavier Becerra and Tom Steyer.

“They’d need a flood of ballots coming in the wee hours of the morning to lift both Dems above Steve Hilton,” Steve Kornacki said.

Steve Hilton appeared optimistic at his election night watch party in Huntington Beach, California.

“It looks very much as if Californians really will have the chance to vote for change in November…and take our state in a new direction — a fresh start for our state — which is long overdue,” Hilton said.

“Whether you voted for me or not, I am here for you,” he said.

Highly popular reality TV star-turned-mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt appears to be on track to advance past the open primary for Los Angeles Mayor to face Incumbent Mayor Karen Bass in the November runoff election. 

That is, if they don’t rig the election with fraudulent late mail-in ballots.

Pratt is currently leading Democrat LA City Councilwoman Nithya Raman and trailing Karen Bass by a slim margin.

The two top vote-getters will advance to a runoff if no candidate receives over 50% of the vote.

NBC’s Steve Kornacki is reporting live on the results tonight.

Roughly 40% of the vote totals were released at approximately 11:20 pm ET, showing Spencer Pratt in second place, trailing incumbent Mayor Karen Bass by just 10 points in the three-way race. He further led Nithya Raman by nearly eight points, putting Pratt in a position to force a runoff between himself and Bass.

Kornacki reports that the in-person vote is expected to swing heavily away from Bass and in favor of Pratt. “If Pratt does do well there, as we’ve seen with Independent and non-Democratic candidates in the past in LA, he could narrow that margin with Bass, and I think more critically for him, he could add to that pad between himself and Raman,” Kornacki said.

Still, the late-arriving mail-in votes, which are expected to be roughly a third of the total vote, could take days to arrive under California’s lawless vote-by-mail system.

At 11:45 pm ET, after in-person mail-in ballot drop-offs, Pratt had closed in on Bass and extended his lead over Raman with 30.3% of the roughly 310,000 votes counted. Additional vote totals are expected to be released throughout the night at 12 am ET and 1 am ET.

Pratt is expected to force a runoff election, according to the polls.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, a new poll conducted between May 26 and May 28 showed Pratt actually leading Bass in deep-blue Los Angeles.

The most reasonable member of the Democrat party strikes again.

Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania was asked about Graham Platner, the Democratic Socialist (communist) running for U.S. Senate in Maine on CNN and called him a ‘creep.’

That’s actually a very good word to describe Platner, who is now embroiled in a sexting scandal, in addition to his many other controversies.

Sen. John Fetterman issued a scathing takedown of Graham Platner as the leading Democratic candidate in Maine’s Senate race has become embroiled in a scandal over reports that he sent sexual text messages to women who were not his wife.

In an interview with CNN Tuesday, the Pennsylvania Democrat also laid into Platner over past social media posts that have haunted Platner’s campaign for months. Fetterman likened Platner to a “Nazi sympathizer” over a now-infamous tattoo resembling a Nazi symbol. Platner has apologized for the past posts and has pleaded ignorance over the meaning of the tattoo, which he has since covered.

“When I was growing up, if someone had a clear Nazi tattoo on them, you probably could conclude that they’re a Nazi sympathizer,” Fetterman said, before rattling off some of Platner’s more incendiary posts. “Are you going to continue to defend that or dismiss that?”

The sharp criticism comes as many Senate Democrats have been reluctant to criticize their party’s top candidate in Maine’s highly competitive Senate race after reports have circulated about Platner’s wife flagging his sexual texts with other women to his campaign…

“Oh, phustle,” Fetterman said of Platner. “What kind of a creep? What kind of a creeper has been on … a platform like Kik, and send a dozen explicit kinds of messages and who knows what else?”

John Fetterman has more courage and clarity than Chuck Schumer, who is steadfastly standing by Platner, despite everything that has been learned about him.

If Democrats lose this election in Maine, it will be easy to see why.
