White House advisor Stephen Miller blasted the Supreme Court justices after the high court struck down President Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship for babies born to illegal aliens on US soil.

The US Supreme Court on Tuesday struck down President Trump’s executive order on birthright citizenship in a 5-4 decision.

Chief Justice Roberts wrote the majority opinion.

“Children born in the United States to parents unlawfully or temporarily present are “subject to the jurisdiction” of the United States and are citizens at birth under the Fourteenth Amendment’s Citizenship Clause,” Roberts wrote.

Roberts was joined by Amy Coney Barrett, Kagan, Sotomayor and Jackson.

Conservative Supreme Court Justices Alito and Clarence Thomas fumed over the birthright citizenship ruling in blistering dissents.

“Blacks were entitled to citizenship because they were Americans. They had no other homeland, owed no allegiance to any foreign power, and were subject to no other authority. They “fought and bled in the same battles,” “gained and gloried in the same victories,” and were “liable to be called upon to defend [America] in time of war” alongside every other citizen,” Justice Thomas wrote.

Justice Thomas rightfully said that the reconstruction amendments after the Civil War – specifically the 14th Amendment — were to ensure that the children of black slaves would be given citizenship.

“In doing so, the Court adds to the sad history of the Fourteenth Amendment, which was designed and understood to secure equal rights for the freed blacks but has instead been repurposed for political projects that the Reconstruction Congress did not support,” Thomas added.

Stephen Miller went off on the Supreme Court on Tuesday evening.

“We have people from all over the world, from third world nations, nations that on their own would have never invented the wheel, let alone modern technology, let alone medicine, let alone air travel. And they can just come into the country, have a baby at a hospital paid for it by you and me and then that baby is automatically a citizen?!” Stephen Miller said to Fox News anchor Jesse Watters.

“And then that baby is automatically a citizen that baby can sit on a jury when he turns 18 and sit in judgment of you and sit in judgment of me and sit in judgment of our loved ones can decide who our mayors are, our governors are, our presidents are,” Miller said.

“Citizenship means nothing if it is open to everyone!” he added.

“The idea that you can have a cruise ship filled with foreigners and they just dock at a port for an hour and someone has a baby – Jesse, the baby is an American citizen!” Miller said.

“They can vote in every election for the rest of their lives. They can be living in a foreign country and cashing welfare checks from American citizens,” he said.

“Some of the justices think they’re so intelligent! There is no possible reading of the 14th Amendment that applies to foreigners with foreign loyalties, foreign citizenship, foreign obligations, foreign everything!”

“Here’s a pretty good clue your constitutional interpretation is wrong. If your ruling requires you to suicide your civilization, your reading of the Constitution is wrong!” Miller added.

A federal judge on Tuesday issued a preliminary injunction blocking the Pentagon’s policy requiring escorts for reporters.

US District Judge Paul Friedman, a Clinton appointee, sided with the New York Times and blocked the Pentagon from enforcing its policy requiring the reporters to be accompanied by an official escort.

The judge’s injunction only applies to reporters with the New York Times.

Politico reported:

A federal district court judge on Tuesday blocked the Defense Department from requiring journalists to be accompanied by an official escort in the Pentagon, siding with The New York Times in its latest legal fight with the administration over press access.

The Times sued the Pentagon to halt its escort mandate in May, arguing that the policy contravened “reporters’ ability to report on the Department and the U.S. military quickly, accurately, and comprehensively.”

Judge Paul Friedman, a Clinton appointee, issued a preliminary injunction against the policy on Tuesday, writing that by “singling out journalists, the escort policy ‘undercut[s] the basic assumption of our political system that the press will often serve as an important restraint on government.’” Friedman’s order applies to those affiliated with The Times and not the broader Pentagon press corps.

The Pentagon did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The ruling marks the latest legal setback in the Defense Department’s yearlong effort to crack down on press freedom on the Pentagon’s campus.

Last year, Pentagon reporters turned in their badges after they refused to sign Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s new security rule.

“Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth demanded that reporters agree by 5 p.m. Tuesday to a new policy, under which they would need to pledge to not obtain or use any unauthorized material, even if the information is unclassified — or hand over their press badges in the next 24 hours,” The Hill previously reported.

Later that day, Pentagon reporters turned in their badges.

At the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s “Road to Majority” Policy Conference at the Washington Hilton on June 26, 2026, President Trump repeated the “one nation under God” framing that has been at the center of a conflict between Republicans and Democrats and attempts by the liberal left to claim that the U.S. was not founded as a Christian country.

In his remarks, Trump framed the political left in explicitly anti-communist and religious terms, telling the audience the Democratic Party “is becoming a communist party,” adding that “these are not social Dumocrats, these are hardcore, God-less communists.” He called this the most serious threat “to our country since its existence,” and argued that communists attack all religions, “but in particular, Christianity,” asserting they target Christianity “more than any other religion.”

Tying this to the nation’s identity, Trump declared the United States will always remain “one nation under God: We’re not changing. And we always have been and we always will be. We’re not going to let him take it away.”

He also referenced the approaching 250th anniversary of American independence, saying that the country’s enemies “would have loved nothing more than to mark America’s 250th anniversary by driving God from our public square once and for all,” and accused the prior administration of having carried out a reign “of persecution and repression against Christians and people of faith like America has never seen before.”

That same day, the Justice Department’s Religious Liberty Commission delivered its final report to the president, building on the broader religious-liberty push his administration has pursued.

Despite liberal claims to the contrary, American founding documents support the idea that the U.S. was founded on religious principles.

The term “one nation under God” was never adopted as the national motto. That distinction belongs to the separate phrase “In God We Trust,” officially declared by Congress in 1956, though the phrase had already appeared on U.S. coins since the Civil War era.

“One nation under God” instead entered American life through the Pledge of Allegiance, signed into law by President Eisenhower on Flag Day, June 14, 1954. The phrase itself, however, predates that insertion, appearing well before 1954 in American political language, most famously through Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address.

The Pledge into which it was inserted was written in 1892 by Francis Bellamy, a Baptist minister, and contained no reference to God; Congress officially recognized its wording in 1942. The campaign to add “under God” began with the Knights of Columbus, the world’s largest Catholic fraternal organization, which on April 30, 1951, adopted a resolution to add the words after “one nation” in the Pledge as recited at its own meetings. The practice spread through Knights of Columbus chapters nationwide, and on August 21, 1952, the Supreme Council formally urged the change be made universal.

Representative Louis C. Rabaut (D-MI), a devout Catholic, sponsored a resolution in 1953, one of seventeen introduced in the House for the same purpose. The decisive push came in February 1954, when President Eisenhower attended a sermon by Reverend George Docherty, who argued that omitting “under God” meant omitting the definitive factor in the American way of life.

Congress passed the joint resolution amending the Flag Code, and Eisenhower signed it into law, stating the change reaffirmed “the transcendence of religious faith” in America’s heritage and future. The addition came amid the Cold War, intended to distinguish the United States from the atheistic ideology promoted by the Soviet Union.

Seventy-two years later, at the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s Road to Majority Conference, Trump invoked the same battle line, warning that today’s Democratic Party is becoming a communist party that “doesn’t believe in God.” The current political moment, he argued, is a continuation of a similar fight against atheistic ideology that drove the 1954 amendment.

“In God We Trust” survived a 1970 Ninth Circuit challenge ruling that references to God in the motto were ceremonial and patriotic rather than religious. While the Pledge phrase was not the direct subject of those early lawsuits, the Supreme Court repeatedly defended it in passing. In cases like Abington v. Schempp (1963), Marsh v. Chambers (1983), and Wallace v. Jaffree (1985), various justices noted in their opinions that “under God” was a permissible form of patriotic, ceremonial expression rather than a violation of the Establishment Clause.

The phrase faced its first direct, major threat when the Ninth Circuit declared it unconstitutional on June 26, 2002. That ruling was stayed amid public backlash, declined for review in April 2003, and ultimately overturned by the Supreme Court on Flag Day, June 14, 2004, on standing grounds rather than the merits.

In 2002, President George W. Bush signed Public Law 107-293, which reaffirmed both the Pledge’s “under God” language and the 1956 “In God We Trust” motto in the same act, likely the source of confusion between the two phrases.

The invocation of God in American governing documents predates the American Revolution by more than a century. The Mayflower Compact, signed November 11, 1620, is generally regarded as the first governing document of European settlement in what became the United States. Its text reads: “Having undertaken for the Glory of God, and Advancement of the Christian Faith, and the Honour of our King and Country, a Voyage to plant the first Colony in the northern Parts of Virginia; Do by these Presents, solemnly and mutually, in the Presence of God and one another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil Body Politick.”

The document opens “In the name of God, Amen,” and is dated “Anno Domini” 1620. It is described as “America’s first great experiment,” a precedent for self-government that influenced later colonial charters, holding that the people derived their right to govern from God.

The Fundamental Orders of Connecticut, adopted 1638–39 and often called the first written constitution in the colonies, state in their preamble that “the word of God requires that to maintain the peace and union of such a people there should be an orderly and decent Government established according to God.”

Unlike the Mayflower Compact, the Fundamental Orders recognized no earthly authority other than the free consent of the people, omitting any mention of the king or Crown. Magistrates swore an oath “by the great and dreadful name of the everliving God, to promote the public good and peace… according to the righteous rule of God’s word; so help me God.”

The same pattern recurred elsewhere in New England: justice in Massachusetts Bay, as in Connecticut, was to be administered “according to the laws established by the new government, and for want thereof according to the rule of the word of God,” and similar language appeared in the Rhode Island settlements of Providence and Portsmouth in the 1630s.

The Christian foundations of the United States began even before independence was declared. The official status of Christian language and references to God in government documents has continued to be reaffirmed by all three branches of government, executive, judicial, and legislative, throughout the 20th and into the 21st century. More than 400 years of written records support the Trump administration’s assertion that the United States is, and always has been, a Christian nation. To claim otherwise is to reject centuries of documented evidence.

Swift needs a little boost.

NASA is involved in a different type of space race, as the agency scrambles to save the aging Swift Observatory telescope from falling back to Earth.

The daring, $30 million salvage mission is expected to start this week, with the launch of a ‘robotic lifesaver’.

The launch of the mission to boost Swift was initially scheduled for today (30), but was scrubbed due to weather.

The next launch attempt is targeted for tomorrow, July 1, at 5:43 a.m. EDT.

The Katalyst spacecraft will be launched on Northrop Grumman’s Pegasus XL rocket from Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.

“NASA hired startup Katalyst Space Technologies to boost the Swift Observatory to a higher orbit where it can continue hunting for some of the universe’s biggest explosions. A three-armed spacecraft built by Katalyst will chase after Swift once it takes off from an atoll in the Pacific’s Marshall Islands aboard an airplane-launched Pegasus rocket. Liftoff could occur as early as Tuesday.

Scanning the cosmos since its launch in 2004, Swift has been sinking faster and faster because of recent intense solar activity. It needs to get to a higher, more stable orbit as soon as possible to survive.”

“’This is the first American space robot to go up and do anything like this’, [Katalyst Space CEO Ghonhee] Lee told The Associated Press. ‘NASA has all these big senior observatories … all of them can benefit from a service like this. So, what we’re proving with this mission is this is a new play in the playbook that’s available’.

It will take Katalyst’s autonomous spacecraft, named Link, about a month to rendezvous with Swift and catch it, and another couple of months to raise its orbit from the current 224 miles (360 kilometers) to the desired 373 miles (600 kilometers).

The 1.6-ton (1.4-metric ton) gamma ray observatory must be above 185 miles (300 kilometers) for the rescue to work. It’s expected to reach that point of no return in October, according to the latest estimates.”

President Trump on Tuesday hosted former Mesa County, Colorado, Election Clerk Tina Peters at the White House after she was released from prison earlier this month, more than four years after her arrest in March 2022. 

“’FREE TINA!’ became the rallying cry of the Republican Party over the past two years,” the President said, announcing her visit.

Peters was sentenced to nine years in prison in October 2024 after she was accused of breaching the Mesa County election systems and leaking Dominion voting machine passwords.

But Peters contends that her office had the Dominion machine passwords, which is what Maricopa County successfully argued when they were subpoenaed for Dominion passwords during the Arizona Election audit in 2021.

Tina Peters also posted a photo of herself in front of the Presidential Walk of Fame in the Rose Garden, writing, “Greatest President Ever!”
