Florida’s GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis urged state residents who are in the path of Hurricane Isaias to evacuate as it continues to build in the Gulf of America.

“You have final hours to be able to exercise your plan for preparation. If you have been given instructions to evacuate … please heed those instructions,” he said during a Friday news conference at the Escambia County Emergency Operations Center in Pensacola.

“You do not have to evacuate hundreds of miles. You don’t have to evacuate so that you have no impact from the storm at all,” DeSantis added,

“The shelters will be able to withstand the hurricane-force winds. Other places that are not in low-lying areas will be able to get through the storm without being inundated by storm surge. So you can evacuate tens of miles … You do what you think is best.”

Evacuation zones along the Florida Panhandle and Big Bend are most at risk, as the Category 3 hurricane is set to make landfall, WEAR-TV reported.

The governor also said that Isaias had sustained winds around 120 mph and warned that in addition to storm surge, flooding, and tornadoes, major power issues should be expected.

“Hide from the wind, but you run from the water,” DeSantis declared, calling storm surge the biggest threat to human life.

The state has prepared millions of meals, 1,000 generators, 500,000 gallons of gasoline, one million gallons of diesel, and over one million bottles of water in anticipation of the storm.

The Associated Press reported that Isaias has “strengthened into a major hurricane and carved a path toward the Alabama-Florida line.”

It was expected to hit land by Friday evening.

The National Hurricane Center’s website described storm surge as posing a “danger of life-threatening inundation, from rising water moving inland from the coastline.”

It also added that the “combination of a dangerous storm surge and the tide will cause normally dry areas near the coast to be flooded by rising waters moving inland from the shoreline.”

Additionally, the hurricane is expected to disrupt U.S. crude oil production, according to CNBC.

It could end up limiting 2 percent of the country’s oil refining capabilities, with fuel markets already in turmoil over the Iran War.

The hurricane did, however, seem to be heading away from the U.S. refining region in southern Louisiana.

Heavy rainfall in the region of Santiago, Chile is causing massive flash floods that are engulfing streets and sending cars floating along with the stream as if they were pool toys.

It is so easy to forget how powerful water can be until you are in a situation like this. The water arrives with a force that is unstoppable.

Thanks to social media, there are lots of videos of the flooding and many of them are going viral.

The Associated Press provides some background:

Heavy rains drenched Chile’s capital and the surrounding region Thursday, triggering mudslides that swept cars through streets, flooded homes, forced residents to evacuate and injured at least six people, authorities said.

President José Antonio Kast declared a state of emergency for Las Condes, a wealthy suburb east of Santiago, giving government agencies more power to respond as torrential rains turned key roads into impassable waterways. The district’s mayor, Catalina San Martín, said 14.4 centimeters (5.7 inches) of rain had fallen in recent days — about nine times the average October rainfall — leaving the area “totally saturated.”

The Mapocho River, which runs through Santiago, overflowed, prompting evacuation orders. Chile’s disaster-response agency put 10 other districts on high alert for more landslides and ordered schools to close Friday. Rain storms earlier this week had already damaged a few dozen homes across central Chile and left nearly 12,000 customers in Santiago without power, officials said. The downpours were expected to ease Friday.

No deaths were reported Thursday. The injured included a 1-year-old child with broken bones, officials said. Firefighters said they’d rescued or evacuated more than 1,000 people.

Karen Whitsett is a Democrat State Representative in Michigan. Tonight, she appeared on the Laura Ingraham show and predicted that far left Democrat Abdul El-Sayed will lose the election in November.

For her own reasons for opposing El-Sayed, Whitsett brought up healthcare, and more specifically health insurance, which she fears she would lose under the ‘Medicare for All’ policy being pushed by El-Sayed.

Whitsett also explained that there is an ongoing tension between the black and Arab communities in Michigan, which she suggests is driven by racism in the Arab community.

During a recent episode of his podcast, Adam Carolla took aim at Hollywood liberals like Mark Ruffalo for wanting to keep Democrats in power, despite the horrible state of Hollywood and California in general.

Carolla pointed out that Democrats have been in control for years and that jobs in the entertainment industry have dried up as a result of left wing governance.

Of course, Carolla is using logic here and Hollywood liberals have shown repeatedly that they are resistant to that.

Alonzo Lunsford was one of the victims of the 2009 shooting by Nidal Hasan who lived and he is preparing to attend Hasan’s execution by firing squad.

This man really does not need to explain to anyone why he is attending the execution, but that’s just what he did today during an appearance on FOX News.

Lunsford was quite eloquent in his reasoning, and said that this is about closing a chapter.

More than 15 years after surviving several gunshot wounds during a terrorist attack at Fort Hood, retired Staff Sgt. Alonzo Lunsford is preparing to watch the man who shot him be executed.

Speaking on “America’s Newsroom,” Lunsford explained why he wants to attend the execution, which President Donald Trump recently approved to be carried out by firing squad.

“You live by the sword, you die by the sword,” Lunsford said. “And the way that he went about doing his deed was a coward’s way because we didn’t have any way to defend ourselves that day.”…

Standing at 6-foot-9, Lunsford was shot several times, including once in the head. He believes attending the execution could bring closure to survivors and grieving families.

“It’s for two reasons. One is to give the families of the deceased a chance to close a chapter and also the survivors to close a chapter,” Lunsford said of the execution.

“And it sends a clear message that we will not stand for this activity in any of our armed services or in the United States,” he added.

Lunsford said that for him and others affected by the attack, even holidays are not the same, adding that families of the deceased will “never get a chance to cherish a Christmas, a Thanksgiving, an Easter” with their loved ones again.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin fired back Friday at New York City Zohran Mamdani after Mamdani frothed over an incident in which U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents shot an illegal immigrant in the Bronx.

Oscar Belgal, an illegal immigrant from the Dominican Republic, was the aggressor in the incident,  ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Executive Associate Director Marcos Charles said, according to Fox News.

Belgal “refused lawful orders to exit his vehicle,” Charles said. “He then accelerated his vehicle, smashing into two of our government ICE vehicles and then weaponized his vehicle and proceeded to accelerate going towards other officers.”

He “evaded law enforcement before when we attempted to arrest him in September,” Charles noted.

Mamdani claimed ICE has “killed far more of our neighbors than they could ever have claimed to save,” amid calls to abolish ICE.

“Well, Mayor, if you abolish ICE,” Mullin asked, who will then “take criminals off the streets of your own town?”

Mullin said that state and local officials should take the blame for what took place.

“If sanctuary politicians refuse to take care of their own streets, President Trump has made it very clear we will.”

DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin slams New York’s sanctuary policies after ICE agents shot 28-year-old Oscar Belgal during an attempted arrest in Manhattan’s Marble Hill neighborhood.

Mullin says Belgal was on probation, had an immigration detainer and was suspected of having direct or indirect knowledge of a gang-related shooting involving a CBP officer last year.

Mullin says Belgal attempted to flee during the operation, adding that agents “had to use force” because of his alleged escalation.

“Sanctuary politicians, they create an environment for criminal activity to thrive,” Mullin said in a post on X.

“President Trump, he made it very clear he was going to restore law and order in our cities and our towns and our states, despite what happens with career politicians that put criminals in front of law-abiding citizens,” Mullin said.
