Vice-President JD Vance’s presumptive 2028 run for the presidency may not be so inevitable after all, based on comments he made yesterday.

As Fox News reported, Vance faced several questions from Michigan voters during a town hall event in Flat Rock, Michigan. This event comes as the Wolverine state faces a close Senate race between Republican Mike Rogers and Islamist Democrat Abdul El-Sayed. This contest could determine the balance of power in the chamber.

The town hall was hosted by Tony Dokoupil of CBS News and covered a wide range of topics. These included gas prices, Vance’s immigration rhetoric, Iran, and El-Sayed’s many outrageous remarks.

But Vance also made news regarding his own political future. At one point, Dokoupil seemingly tried to get Vance to announce his bid for the White House.

“You mentioned a couple of minutes ago that you might be out of a job,” Dokoupil said. “Even in the structure of the sentence, that suggests you would be running for a continued job.”

But Vance instead insisted that he is undecided.

“Not necessarily,” Vance replied.

“Is there a chance you don’t run for president in 2028?” Dokoupil asked.

Vance then revealed why he may not run after all, and the reason is quite understandable.

“Of course, there’s a chance,” Vance said. “We’ve got four little kids.”

“My wife has never loved politics,” he continued. “But people ask me this question all the time because they assume I’m going to run in 2028.”

“The way that I think about life, big life decisions — my wife will tell you this — is I’m a procrastinator. I hate thinking about it.”

While the smart money remains on Vance ultimately declaring his intention to run for president, the fact that he not only has a young family but also has a wife who is not enamored with being a political spouse does raise some doubts.

Should Vance pass on a run, all eyes will then turn to Secretary of State Marco Rubio. As of right now, Rubio says he has no plans to run, but that would likely change considering the lack of depth of the Republican bench.

Greta was not there to bring peace. Just kidding.

All the movements now need to be united, whether it is students’ movements, workers’ movements, migrants’ rights movements, climate movements. We all need to stand united because we are facing the same enemy, which is this extremely destructive system which is not working to our benefit and which is incompatible, I would say, with human rights and humanity as a whole. The police are extremely violently protecting our already extremely violent businesses. Just shows everything about them and who they are really protecting. They are supposed to be protecting young people. They are supposed to be protecting their human rights.”

A jobless Massachusetts man stands accused of brutally murdering his own mother following a nasty fight over her pets and then bragging to his cousin about his horrific crime.

As CBS Boston reported, prosecutors allege 49-year-old Andria Hanafin was shot and killed by her 22-year-old son, Ryan, the night of October 7 in their Reading home.

He then fled to Vermont, where he was arrested the next day.

Prosecutors say Matthew Hanafin, Ryan’s father, called 911 after arriving home from work around 12:30 a.m. on Oct. 8 and found his wife’s body in the kitchen of their home.

Their 13-year-old son was also inside the home, but was thankfully unharmed.

CBS Boston notes that Ryan Hanafin had an ongoing dispute with Andria Hanafin over the 84 foster cats she kept in the home. On the day of her death, Matthew and Andria spoke during a phone call at around 6:51 p.m., where she told him that she wanted him to move out of the house.

Matthew Hanafin also revealed that he had told his son to “get a job and do something” with his life on the morning before the murder.

The Boston Globe reported that Ryan Hanafin was most recently employed at a gun shop six months ago.

Per CBS Boston, the cats are now in the care of the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA).

After killing his mother, prosecutors say Ryan Hanafin sent text messages via Snapchat to his cousin. One read that he “blew madre to pieces.”

The second message he allegedly sent said that he “blew her s**t smooth off.”

Prosecutors revealed that Andria Hanafin had expressed to another friend that she was scared of her son because he had access to firearms.

Investigators later discovered 19 firearms in Ryan Hanafin’s room, including a ghost gun, which led to an untraceable firearm charge.

Ryan Hanafin has been charged with first-degree murder and entered a not-guilty plea on Thursday.

He also faces additional charges for improperly storing firearms near a minor and receiving an untraceable firearm.

The young man is being held without bail for the murder charge.

A liberal guest on MSNOW referred to Americans who vote Republican as ‘fascist Americans’ during a recent appearance.

Host Ali Velshi did nothing to correct him or to suggest that this was an inappropriate way to refer to his fellow Americans, he just nodded along.

This is apparently what passes for a normal conversation on the far left network.

ALI VELSHI: So, Ezra, this is a tricky one because I don’t want to tell people that you don’t have a right in your state to vote on the very last day, at the very last hour, while you’re still in line and not have a passport or a citizenship card with you. That is your right. But there are people working to take that away from you.

So, it just would be better if you didn’t drop your ballot in the mailbox on the last day. And if you did, if you could vote earlier. It’s your right to vote. And there will be people there to help you protect your right. But boy, it will be easier if everybody voted on time and in great numbers to make it too big to be rigged.

EZRA LEVIN: That’s exactly right. This is a tricky issue to cover, Ali. You’re covering something real here because we want to be realistic about the threat—

VELSHI: Right.

LEVIN: —but we don’t want to send the message that Trump is all powerful and that the democracy is a sham. And you shouldn’t even show up because he’s going to rig the whole thing. That is not true. He succeeds by spreading fear and chaos. We need to be confident, take serious the threat. But there are more of us than there are the fascist Americans in this country. That’s just true.

America’s abortion industry players long have used sanitized language to promote their financial interests in the wanton destruction of the unborn.

It’s “health care.” It’s a woman’s own body. It’s just a clump of cells. It’s just “choice.” And the like.

But now one pro-abortion scheme has abandoned that, and may have, deliberately or not, revealed the truth behind the agenda.

Its new slogans include:

“I’ll still love abortion in hell.”

“Satan’s school of gay communism.”

“I don’t care if abortion is murder.”

It is the American Center for Law and Justice that uncovered the agenda of the group called Stand With Abortion Now, based in Florida.

The group even offers a scheme to fund a “micro-abortion,” by enrolling in a recurring $5 donation program. The promotion states, “Can’t fund a full abortion but have a need to kill?”

“At first glance, it reads like satire – something so grotesque and absurd that it cannot possibly be real. But it is real. In Central Florida, Stand With Abortion Now (“SWAN”) is selling merchandise that turns the intentional killing of unborn children into a joke, a fashion statement, and a fundraising opportunity,” the ACLJ reported.

SWAN is a “clinic-escort group” that promises to “protect and expand abortion ‘by all means necessary,’” the report explains.

It spends donations by “paying for abortions at its clinic and a sister clinic in Tampa, funding travel for out-of-state abortions, providing mutual aid, and bailing ‘comrades’ out of jail.”

Then, the report said, the organization said simply, “we just need yall to kill the babies.”

“Some of it is so vile that we cannot show or even describe it here,” the ACLJ said. “But the attempted mockery backfires. Rather than discrediting the pro-life position, these products draw attention to the very reality the abortion industry has spent decades hiding behind euphemisms like ‘choice,’ ‘healthcare,’ and ‘reproductive freedom.’

“They are declarations from people who treat abortion as a political weapon, a cultural identity, and Halloween-season entertainment. ‘Fetuses Fear Me’ and ‘I Don’t Care If Abortion Is Murder’ are not subtle. Neither is ‘kill the babies.’ The point is provocation – but the reality behind the provocation is the death of an unborn child,” the report confirmed.

“That interstate scheme is now at the center of major litigation. Louisiana, Arkansas, and Alabama have filed an original action in the U.S. Supreme Court challenging the ‘shield laws’ of New York, Massachusetts, and California – laws intended to protect abortion providers who prescribe and mail abortion drugs into states where that conduct is unlawful,” the report said.

“Abortion is not the healing of a disease or the restoration of a broken body. It intentionally ends one human life for the perceived benefit of another—it destroys and breaks. SWAN’s merchandise and social-media posts do not hide that reality. They mock it, market it, and monetize it.”

Further it is described as directing women to sources for abortion chemicals.

The People We Love and the Country We Leave Them

Today I read Jim Hoft’s tribute to his sister Lynne.

And one sentence stayed with me: “My older sister was proud of me.”

Jim remembered the sister who welcomed him into her home in Tuba City, Arizona, when he was young and needed help. He wrote about differences that had put distance between them, and the closeness they later found again. Beneath the public life and political disagreements was a brother who loved his sister. This week, he lost her.

To Jim, Joe, and the entire Hoft family: Please accept my heartfelt condolences on Lynne’s passing. May God comfort you in the quiet hours when her absence is hardest to bear. May the memories you share bring you warmth, and may you find strength in one another as you grieve. Grieving Is Such Quiet Sorrow…

A loss like this makes me think about the people we keep meaning to call. The sister whose familiar voice we expect to hear again. The friend whose message we put aside because the afternoon got busy. We go about our days with so much left to say, assuming there will be another opportunity.

And sometimes there isn’t…

So, please tell your loved ones that you love them. Tell your extended family, too. Say it on an ordinary afternoon, when nobody is leaving for a long journey and there is no special occasion. Let them hear it while they can still answer you.

“I Love You More Today Than Yesterday,

But Not as Much as Tomorrow.”

What a beautiful thing to give someone to carry through the day.

Jim’s account of finding his way back to his sister also reminds me that an estranged relationship may still have a future. If there is someone you hope to reconnect with, perhaps today is the day to reach out. We cannot know how a conversation will go. But we can always make room for one.

That same care for the people we love also gives me a reason to care deeply about our Country, and why we must vote to preserve it.

THIS IS OUR COUNTRY. We live here with its blessings and its troubles. Our children will make their lives here. The neighbors we wave to, the families we pray for, and the people we will never meet all need a Nation where they can live securely; and build a future.

I love God, and I love America. My faith calls me to consider how I treat people, especially when I am angry or afraid. My love for this Country calls me to take responsibility for the part of its future I can influence.

Both Deserve More Than a Place in Something I Write.

They Deserve a Place in How I Live.

There is enough political noise to fill every hour we have. We can become so absorbed in the latest insult that we lose sight of the lives behind the issues. A school-board decision reaches a child in a classroom. A question about public safety reaches a family coming home at night. Decisions made by people we elect become part of our daily lives.

That is why I keep asking you to VOTE!

So, when you sit down with your ballot:

• THINK ABOUT THE PEOPLE whose lives you hope will be better because you took the time.
• READ THE CHOICES before you.
• BRING YOUR CONSCIENCE and YOUR CONVICTIONS to the task.
• Then FOLLOW THROUGH and CAST THAT BALLOT.

Our voices belong in the decisions that shape our communities. Voting is one of the the ways we use them. It is a practical act of care for the country we share and for the generations who will inherit it.

I want our children and grandchildren to know that we cared enough to participate. When they ask what we did with the responsibilities handed to us, I want us to have an answer.

Tonight, call someone you love. You do not need a perfect speech. Tell them they matter to you. Listen to their voice. Give that conversation the time it deserves, and…

Help them make their plan TO VOTE.

And make your own plan TO VOTE, too.

To the Hoft family, my prayers are with you. Your love for Lynne, and hers for you, came through in Jim’s words. Thank you for sharing a little of her life with us.

May we remember to express our love for others, while it can still be heard; and to care for Our Country while its Future is Ours to Help Shape.
