While no one who experienced 9/11 will ever forget that day, those who lost loved ones shoulder a special burden and sadness.

Don Arias, a former New York firefighter and Air Force Veteran, lost his brother Adam in the terrorist attack.

Adam, 37,  worked on the 84th floor of the South Tower (World Trade Center 2) for an international trading/brokerage firm. After the North Tower was hit, Don, then an Air Force officer, called Adam and told him to “go home.”

Instead, Adam helped evacuate coworkers and stayed to assist people and first responders on the ground. He was killed when the South Tower collapsed.

Don is speaking out after people he claims hold extreme beliefs are being embraced by Democrats and winning elections.

Arias told Fox News, “When it comes to terrorist sympathizers, I don’t really suffer fools kindly, and this guy is beyond the pale,” he said of Dr. Adam Hamawy, now the Democratic nominee for Congress in New Jersey’s blue-leaning 12th Congressional District.

In particular, Don raised Hamawy’s cozy relationship with terrorist Omar Abdel-Rahman, aka the “Blind Sheikh,” who was the mastermind of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

Hamawy testified in his defense at the largest terrorism trial in American history, and volunteered with an organization the U.S. Treasury Department and the 9/11 Commission identified as part of Osama bin Laden’s covert financial network.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Hamawy won in the district where Todd Beamer is buried.

You may remember Todd Beamer as the airline passenger on Flight 93 who famously said “Let’s roll” as his last known words, referring to other passengers as they prepared to retake control of the plane, which crashed into a field in rural Pennsylvania instead of somewhere in DC.

Don spoke with Fox News Digital:

“But when he’s pals with the Blind Sheikh, and he’s his translator for several years, when he testifies for him in court saying what a great guy is, when he spends that kind of time with this guy, and then says that he’s never heard him say anything about jihad, I have to question his veracity. I mean, that just doesn’t ring true,” Arias told Fox News Digital.

“Show me who your friends are, and I’ll tell you who you are,” he continued.

“And if this guy Hamawy is going to try and forget all about that — he wants it to go down the memory hole and say, ‘oh, I was a veteran, you know, I did good stuff’ — I’m not going to forget, and I don’t think people should forget.“

Speaking at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s 2026 Policy Conference in Washington, D.C., on Friday, President Trump called communism the “most serious threat to our Country since its existence 250 years ago,” warning that “ruthless Communists will attack all Religions but, in particular, Christianity. They always do. All Communist Countries attack Religions violently.”

From Moscow to Beijing to Phnom Penh, every communist government that has come to power has moved against religion as a matter of doctrine.

Opening his remarks, Trump declared that both America and religion are “back like never before,” citing the creation of the White House Faith Office. He traced America’s faith tradition from the Jamestown settlers, who “got off their ship, raised up a cross, and bowed down to the Lord in prayer,” through the Minutemen at Lexington and Concord.

Trump described the prior administration as having carried out “a reign of persecution and repression against Christians,” citing the FBI targeting of Catholics, the jailing of pro-life activists for praying, and the discharge of military members over religious beliefs.

He pointed to the recent U.S. strike on Nigeria as evidence of his administration protecting Christians abroad, saying “I am saving Christians throughout the World, even though we are not in those various Countries, by hitting these Terrorists violently and hard.”

On communism, he characterized the Zohran Mamdani-backed winners in this week’s New York City elections not as socialists but as “hardcore, godless communists” and warned that communism, while easy to sell with promises of free rent, food, and housing, ends in squalor, collapse, and death, “Third World in every way.”

Trump is correct that Communism hates Jesus. To understand why communism targets Christianity specifically, the conflict must be understood as structural. Communism requires the state to be the supreme authority in all aspects of life, economic, social, moral, and ideological. Christianity directly contradicts that by placing God above the state.

The first point of conflict is party supremacy. In both Russia and China, a constitution exists on paper, but the Party is paramount over the constitution itself. By that same logic, the Party cannot accept citizens who place Jesus, or any God, above the Party.

Loyalty compounds the problem. Christianity demands a higher allegiance than any earthly government. “Render unto Caesar” explicitly limits Caesar’s authority, and communist states cannot tolerate that limit. Moral authority follows from the same root. The Church provides an independent framework for right and wrong that the Party did not create and cannot control. If people derive their understanding of truth from Scripture rather than the state, the Party loses its monopoly on defining reality.

Churches also organize people outside state structures. Any independent organization, even a prayer group, is a potential node of resistance, which is why communist states move to absorb or destroy all independent institutions. Karl Marx called religion the opium of the people precisely because it gives the poor meaning and consolation independent of material conditions, making them harder to mobilize through class struggle alone.

Faith, by definition, is hope, and hope prevents people from being defeated. Communism seeks to destroy the individual and replace him with the collective, but Christians who believe they are made in God’s image and possess an immortal soul know the individual cannot be dissolved into the collective. They draw their strength from God, not the Party, which makes them permanently resistant to the total psychological domination communism requires.

Finally, in Russia, China, Vietnam, and elsewhere, the Church predated the communist state by centuries and carried deep cultural authority. That authority had to be broken before the Party could fill the vacuum.

The Russian Communist Party formalized its anti-religious policy at its Eighth Congress in 1920. What followed in the Soviet Union was systematic persecution. During the first five years of Soviet rule, the Bolsheviks executed 28 Russian Orthodox bishops and more than 1,200 priests. By the end of 1923, some 2,700 priests, 3,400 nuns, and 2,000 monks had been killed.

The campaign escalated under Stalin. Between 1927 and 1940, the number of Orthodox churches in the Russian Republic fell from 29,584 to fewer than 500, a 98 percent decline caused by systematic demolition. By 1941, only one-twelfth of the church’s priests remained active in their parishes. Across the Eastern Bloc after World War II, Christian churches, Jewish synagogues, and Islamic mosques were forcibly converted into museums of atheism.

In the People’s Republic of China, Red Guards destroyed religious objects, texts, temples, and other places of worship during the Cultural Revolution as part of the campaign against the “Four Olds.” The persecution adapted rather than ended after Mao. Since Xi Jinping took power in 2012, authorities have intensified restrictions, leading to an overall increase in religious persecution.

Thousands of churches have been demolished, while crosses have been removed from many of those permitted to remain. Thousands of Christians and clergy have been imprisoned. At least half a million predominantly Muslim Uyghurs, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, and other Turkic minorities remain imprisoned or held in internment facilities in Xinjiang. Authorities have also cracked down on Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, disappeared and imprisoned monks who honored the Dalai Lama, and intensified the targeting of independent Protestant leaders and house church congregations.

In 1999, the CCP banned Falun Gong, which by that point had at least 70 million practitioners, more than the Communist Party’s own membership of 63 million. In September 2019, the UN Human Rights Council was told that the Chinese government “is harvesting and selling organs from persecuted religious and ethnic minorities on an industrial scale.”

In Cambodia, the Khmer Rouge seized power in 1975 and modeled its revolution on Mao’s China. Religion was banned outright along with music and radio. Christian, Buddhist, and Muslim citizens were all specifically targeted. The Cham Muslim population suffered the most: as many as 500,000 people, or 70 percent of the total Cham population, were exterminated. Between 1975 and 1979, the Khmer Rouge killed between 1.5 and 3 million people, nearly a quarter of Cambodia’s population.

In Vietnam, after the communist victory in 1975, schools, hospitals, and institutions run by religious organizations were seized, land was confiscated, religious leaders were sent to reeducation camps, and proselytizing was severely restricted. In November 1975, 12 Buddhist monks and nuns immolated themselves in Cần Thơ in protest.

The Unified Buddhist Church of Vietnam refused to pledge allegiance to the communist regime and was banned. Christians formed 75 percent of the Vietnamese refugees who fled the country after 1975. The communist governments of Vietnam and Laos conducted state-sponsored campaigns to force ethnic Hmong Christians and Montagnards in the Central Highlands to renounce their faith.

In May, President Trump organized the Rededicate 250 event on the National Mall, rededicating the United States as one nation under God. In a video message to the crowd, Trump read from 2 Chronicles 7: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson delivered the formal rededication prayer, declaring: “Just as we in the beginning dedicated this land to your most holy name, today, here, Lord, in this 250th year of American independence, we hereby rededicate the United States of America as one nation under God.”

Biden marked Transgender Day of Visibility at the White House on Easter Sunday. Kamala Harris scolded Americans, saying, “How dare we say ‘Merry Christmas’?” The Fauci-Biden COVID policies kept people out of church and restricted the celebration of Christmas and Easter. This week, one of the three socialists elected in New York belongs to an organization that calls for the destruction of Western civilization. By contrast, Trump is encouraging Christian values while warning against communism.

In a significant move to restore the teachings of American heritage, the Republican-controlled Texas State Board of Education approved a new required reading list that mandates the inclusion of passages from the Bible for public school students across all grade levels.

The final vote passed 9-5 along party lines on Friday.

This makes Texas the first state in the nation to establish a statewide mandated literary program that includes specific Bible excerpts alongside classic works of literature.

There are more than five million public school students in the state.

The new requirements build directly on House Bill 1605, passed by the Texas Legislature in 2023.

That law directed the State Board of Education to identify at least one required literary work for every grade level as part of efforts to strengthen reading instruction and provide high-quality, transparent instructional materials.

The Board went further, creating a comprehensive list of roughly 200 texts that schools must assign to students.

Students are required to read these works in their entirety or as specified, with teachers able to add materials but not substitute for or remove the state-mandated ones.

Examples of the required biblical passages include Jonah and the Whale, David and Goliath, Daniel and the Lion’s Den for early elementary school students; The Necessity of Humility (Luke 14:7-11) and selections from Exodus including the Burning Bush and the Parting of the Red Sea for upper elementary students; Do Not Be Anxious (Matthew 6:25-34), The Shepherd’s Psalm (Psalm 23), The Eight Beatitudes (Matthew 5:1-12), To Everything There Is a Season (Ecclesiastes 3), and Lamentations Chapter 3 for middle schoolers; and The Parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15), extensive selections from the Book of Job, Adam and Eve (Genesis 2-3), and The Definition of Love (1 Corinthians 13) for high school students.

The passages will be included alongside classics such as Charlotte’s Web, Great Expectations, Pride and Prejudice, Shakespeare’s works, and important American historical documents.

The new requirements will be phased in beginning with the 2030-2031 school year for elementary students, with full rollout to middle and high school grades in subsequent years.

This timeline gives districts and educators ample time to prepare the curriculum, acquire materials, and train teachers.

Under existing Texas law, parents will be able to request alternative assignments if a required text conflicts with their family’s beliefs.

A disturbing video has gone viral showing a security guard at a popular North County San Diego bar and restaurant firing a Taser directly into the face of a shirtless patron at point-blank range during an altercation.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, June 24, 2026, outside Park 101, a busy rooftop sports bar in Carlsbad Village, during a packed watch party for the Mexico versus Czechia soccer match, according to TMZ.

The footage, originally posted by a witness on Instagram with the username @tannn.da.man, shows a young man standing near the entrance when a uniformed security guard suddenly raises what appears to be a conducted electrical weapon and discharges it from just inches away straight into the man’s face.

The victim immediately drops to the ground in obvious pain as bystanders rush in to assist him. Moments later in the clip, the same guard is seen in handcuffs being led away by Carlsbad police officers.

Carlsbad PD confirmed officers were flagged down by witnesses. After reviewing the video of the incident, they arrested 42-year-old David Marquez of San Marcos.

He was booked into Vista County Jail on two felony counts: assault with a deadly weapon and assault with a stun gun.

The victim was evaluated at the scene by Carlsbad Fire Department personnel and transported to a local hospital for treatment. His identity and current medical condition have not been publicly released.

The restaurant reportedly terminated Marquez and ended its contract with the security vendor.

Park 101 co-owner Peter Cich told San Diegoville in a statement:

“The video is deeply disturbing, and what it shows does not reflect Park 101 or any of our establishments. The safety of our guests has always been our highest priority.

Park 101 is, first and foremost, a family restaurant, and we rarely utilize security personnel of this kind. Due to the increased crowds associated with the World Cup matches, we retained additional event security through a third-party company specifically to help keep guests safe during an unusually busy period. That makes what occurred even more difficult to process, as it is the exact opposite of why those personnel were brought in.

The individual involved is no longer working at our property, and we are terminating our relationship with that security vendor. We are cooperating fully with the Carlsbad Police Department and conducting our own internal review of how event security is selected, vetted, staffed, and trained.

Right now, our focus is on the wellbeing of our guests. We are committed to learning from this incident and taking the necessary steps to ensure something like this does not happen again.”

At the time of this writing, it is still unclear what the cause of the altercation was.

Federal authorities have launched a major investigation into a rowhouse in Philadelphia’s Olney neighborhood after the arrest of 44-year-old Eugene Albert Horsch, a convicted felon found with a fake DEA badge, multiple firearms with obliterated serial numbers, crack cocaine, and a basement that police described as a makeshift laboratory filled with dangerous chemicals.

The case began on June 19, 2026, when a U.S. Park Ranger spotted a black BMW parked near a fire hydrant along the 600 block of Market Street near Independence Mall, according to FOX29.

Extra officers were deployed in the area due to the World Cup match in South Philly.

The ranger approached the vehicle after hearing a disturbance. A woman inside reportedly yelled, “You’re going to hurt me.”

When officers searched Horsch, they found:

• A switchblade knife in his pocket
• Fake DEA credentials identifying him as a federal agent
• Two loaded guns with obliterated serial numbers hidden under the floorboards
• A glass drug pipe and other paraphernalia
• Horsch admitted to possessing crack cocaine

The woman with him was carrying identification bearing her photo, but the name of a woman reported missing since 2023.

Horsch, a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms, was taken into custody on weapons and drug charges.

Deputy Philadelphia Police Commissioner Frank Vanore stated that some of the chemical materials could have been explosive if combined, according to KYW Newsradio.

“From what I have been told, if some of those chemical materials were to be put together, they would have been explosive,” Vanore said. He added, “We just don’t know what he’s doing, if he’s producing something, making something, irrigating something, we just don’t know.”

Cops and federal agents have described the basement setup as one of the strangest they’ve seen.

The FBI’s Major Case Team from Quantico has been brought in to catalog and analyze the chemicals. The bureau is now leading aspects of the ongoing investigation.

Horsch has a lengthy criminal record, including multiple prior drug charges. Earlier this year, he was arrested and charged with stabbing a man in the stomach. Those charges were later withdrawn by the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office after a witness failed to appear.

This is the same Soros-backed DA’s office that The Gateway Pundit has extensively documented for its soft-on-crime policies, repeated clashes with federal immigration enforcement, and failure to hold violent offenders accountable in a city already plagued by brazen daylight heists, carjackings, and drug-fueled violence.

As we have reported previously, Philadelphia continues to suffer under progressive leadership that prioritizes criminals over law-abiding citizens.

Horsch’s attorney has claimed that many of the chemicals belonged to his late father and will ultimately be deemed harmless. Investigators are not taking that at face value.

For now, Horsch remains in custody on gun and drug charges with bail set at $500,000. The FBI investigation is active and expanding.
