INFURIATING UPDATE: Illegal Alien Responsible for Beheading Beloved Iwo Jima Statue – Trump Admin. Responds

An infuriating update has emerged regarding the individual reportedly responsible for beheading the Iwo Jima statue in Quantico, Virginia.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Prince William County police officers busted a thug who has since been identified as 27-year-old Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano. At the time of his arrest, Maldonado Soriano was living in Stafford.

Police say he was actively damaging the structure using a sledgehammer.

Police later noted extensive destruction to the monument, including the removal of one of the soldiers’ heads. All told, the damage to the monument is estimated in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The statue in question stands near one entrance to Marine Base Quantico and is a short walk from the National Museum of the Marine Corps. It was carved out of limestone by Felix de Weldon in 1945.

The Quantico statue is one of several smaller-scale statues Weldon created of the scene.

Now, it has been revealed the Maldonado Soriano had no business being in America to begin with.

Sources revealed to Fox News that Maldonado Soriano is a Mexican illegal alien and former Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipient who lost his status this year.

Per Fox News, Maldonado Soriano crossed the border in December 1999, which was during the Clinton Administration.

In 2014, Maldonado Soriano received DACA under the Obama regime and was allowed to stay in America. His time in our country was then extended by the Biden regime in 2024.

But Maldonado Soriano lost his DACA status in August 2026 after the Trump administration declined to renew it.

Trump White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers issued the following statement to Fox News:

This criminal illegal alien’s dream is over: Maldonado Soriano disrespected our brave service members and defaced a beautiful monument that honored their sacrifice.

President Trump has secured our border and is deporting illegal criminals who hate our country and our values. The socialist Democrats want to go back to open borders and flood our communities with dangerous criminal illegal aliens.
