Peter Magyar Slams Ukraine for Including Hungary in ‘Carpathian Eight’ Forum Without Consulting Them, Says Budapest NOT a Part of New Group ‘for Good Reason’

Magyar is standing up to Kiev’s bullying.
When young Peter Magyar defeated conservative Viktor Orbán in the last Hungarian elections, many expected him to be another Globalist ruler, toeing the line of every policy emanating from Brussels.
But, while Magyar has been advancing some Globalist initiatives, like lifting the ban on gay pride parade in Budapest, and reverting the prohibition of gay couples adopting children – to name but a few – when it comes to Ukraine, the new prime minister has been surprisingly independent.
Yesterday, Magyar announced that Budapest will NOT join the ‘Ukrainian cooperation initiative’ known as the ‘Carpathian Eight’.
The group was to bring together Austria, Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Ukraine.
The idea is ‘to strengthen cooperation in the areas of energy, transport, industry, security, and the development of the Carpathian region’.
However, although initial information suggested Hungary’s participation, Magyar stated that his government did not accept the invitation.
Kyiv Post reported:
“Hungary’s Prime Minister Péter Magyar announced Budapest will not be joining Ukraine’s new Carpathian Eight (C8) cooperation initiative, designed to deepen regional security through joint initiatives and investments.
When the initiative was founded in Bukovel, in Ukraine’s western Ivano-Frankivisk region on Friday, Sept. 18, it was presented as comprising Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Ukraine. However, Hungarian outlet HVG reported that, despite first reports identifying Hungary as a member, Magyar said Budapest had received – but declined – an invitation to join.
‘They invited us, and for good reason we did not go’, Magyar said, ‘believe me, Hungary is not taking part in this’, he continued.”
As is often the case, Ukrainian officials came out badgering the Hungarian leader, unaccustomed as they are to having their will opposed.
We are surprised by the Hungarian Prime Minister’s unnecessarily confrontational statements toward Ukraine.

“Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Sybiha accused Magyar of echoing Orbán’s ‘obstructionism and isolationism’ after the Hungarian PM lambasted Kyiv for including Hungary in its new Carpathian Eight forum without consent.
Fresh tensions have flared between Hungary and Ukraine after Budapest accused Kyiv of including it in Volodymyr Zelensky’s new regional development forum without its consent.”

Ukraine’s regime is furious at Hungary after PM Péter Magyar refused to join Zelensky’s Carpathian Eight initiative.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha immediately attacked Hungary for refusing to follow Kyiv’s agenda comparing Péter Magyar to Viktor Orban.

And that is not all the trouble dividing the two countries. Magyar also announced that Hungary will not build an oil storage for Ukraine on its territory.

TASS reported:
“The Hungarian PM emphasized that the matter had not progressed beyond the signing of the memorandum of understanding and no other agreements had been signed.
[…] ‘The storage for which MOL signed the memorandum of understanding will not be built either on the Hungarian-Ukrainian border or anywhere else’.
‘If you read the recently published statement, it says that this is only a theoretical possibility. Even if it came to implementation, it will take years. But I want to state here and now: as long as the government of the Tisza party is in power, this will not happen’, Magyar told the Hungarian parliament.”
