Police Bodycam Footage Shows Moment Daredevil Couple Who Scaled Empire State Building Taken Into Custody (VIDEO)

The NYPD on Wednesday afternoon released police bodycam footage of their arrest of a masked couple who climbed the Empire State Building’s spire and unfurled a banner.

The banner read: “When the power of love beats the love of power, the world knows peace.”

A Russian daredevil couple scaled the Empire State Building as a marriage proposal stunt.

The masked couple reportedly accessed the spire by sneaking through a tiny hatch on the 102nd floor.

The couple was identified as Ivan Kuznetsov, 32, and Angelina Nikolau, 33.

Kuznetsov got down on one knee and proposed to Nikolau and now the two are spending the first hours of their engagement in custody.

“They have each been charged with burglary, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, violation of local law, possession of burglar’s tools, criminal tampering, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct, according to sources,” CBS News reported.

“The two have a history of conducting similar stunts, climbing tall buildings without ropes or other safety equipment,” CBS said.

“They were previously featured in a documentary about climbing Malaysia’s Merdeka 118 Tower, which is 2,227 feet tall,” the outlet reported.

Police rushed in to take the couple into custody.

The couple did not resist arrest.
