October 11, 2026

President Trump on Sunday announced an energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.

“Effective immediately, there is an ENERGY CEASEFIRE in the War between Russia and Ukraine. Both parties have agreed. Do not break it! Thank you for your attention to this matter,” Trump said on Sunday.

Later Sunday morning, Zelensky responded and said Ukraine supports the ceasefire.

“I just spoke with Mark Carney, @alexstubb, and @SecGenNATO Mark Rutte. We discussed the energy ceasefire announced by President Trump,” Zelensky said.

“Ukraine supports the ceasefire, and it is important that Russia support it as well. We are awaiting details from the American side. For our part, Ukraine always FULLY supports steps toward de-escalation, the protection of lives, and the decisions needed to end the war and guarantee lasting peace. Thank you!” he said.

The energy ceasefire comes after President Trump announced a historic diesel deal with Russia.

Trump said the US will now be importing diesel fuel from Russia.

The President secured several million tons of Russian diesel ahead of the midterm elections in addition to his executive order to slash prices.

Trump went off on Zelensky after announcing a deal with Russia to sell diesel to the US.

While speaking to reporters on Friday, Trump blasted the Ukrainian President’s refusal to make peace and blamed him for the continuation of the war with Russia after Ukraine’s latest attack on a Russian oil export hub.

“I think it’s time for Ukraine to get a new president,” Trump said, blaming Zelensky for high oil and diesel prices.
