“Queer Booksellers” Owned Bookstore in San Francisco Bans Harry Potter and Other Books by J.K. Rowling

Booksmith, a San Francisco bookstore owned by self-described “queer booksellers”, recently announced it is banning books by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling over Rowling’s pro-woman group.

The British author Rowling has taken a strong stand in the transgender battle, opposing men pretending to be women invading women’s and girls’ spaces and establishing the United Kingdom based private fund, J.K. Rowling Women’s Fund, “A legal fighting fund for women protecting their sex-based rights” for women in the UK and Ireland.

The Booksmith owners were triggered by Rowling’s statement last month she was self-funding the women’s group she founded and was not accepting donations, “I looked into all options and a private fund is the most efficient, streamlined way for me to do this. Lots of people are offering to contribute, which I truly appreciate, but there are many other women’s rights orgs that could do with the money, so donate away, just not to me!”

Wizards, but not That Wizard

In May of 2025, author JK Rowling publicly committed to using her private wealth from the Harry Potter series to develop the “JK Rowling Women’s Fund,” an organization dedicated to removing transgender rights “in the workplace, in public life, and in protected female spaces.”

With this announcement, we’ve decided to stop carrying her books. We don’t know exactly what her her “women’s fund” will entail, but we know that we aren’t going to be a part of it.

As a group of queer booksellers, we also had our adolescence shaped by wizards and elves. Look at us, it’s obvious. If you or someone you love wants to dive into the world of Harry Potter, we suggest doing so by buying used copies of these books.

Or, even better, please find below a list of bookseller-curated suggestions for books we genuinely love that also might fit the HP brief for you and yours. Many are series; some are standalone. Books for the younger folks are listed first, switching to teen/YA about halfway through (the book Wise Child is the first in the YA section).

Rowling Women’s Fund (JKRWF) offers legal funding support to individuals and organisations fighting to retain women’s sex-based rights in the workplace, in public life, and in protected female spaces. It provides women with the means and confidence to bring to justice cases that make legal precedents, force policy change, and make positive contributions to women’s lives in the future.

What we fund
We fund legal representation for women and organisations who:

Have lost their livelihoods or are facing tribunals because of their expressed beliefs
Are being forced to comply with unreasonable inclusion policies regarding single sex spaces and services, or female-only clubs and events
Are challenging legislation which takes away the freedoms or protections women are entitled to
Don’t have adequate means to bring actions to court or to defend themselves
The JKRWF does not hire a lawyer on your behalf, so you must already have sought legal representation, and have a clear desired outcome to your case.

How to apply
If this sounds like you, fill out one of the eligibility checklists below – there’s one for individuals and one for organisations. If the answer to any of the questions is no, then the Fund is not for you. If it’s a yes to all of them, you can proceed to the online application form.

After initial screening, applications go through a rigorous assessment by the JKRWF board. Awards are at the discretion of the board, and limited to closely defined legal actions with a clear goal and timespan. Please note the JKRWF is a private fund, not a charity or a trust, and does not accept donations.

On the same front page of their website announcing their ban of Harry Potter and other J.K. Rowling books, Booksmith features an announcement it is participating in a “Books Not Bans” campaign to send “queer, affirmative” books to people in areas of the U.S. that have ‘banned books’:

On Thursday evening, GOP Senator Eric Schmitt (MO) demanded access to sealed Biden autopen records after Neera Tanden admitted she controlled the autopen for more than a year and a half.

Ex-Biden official Neera Tanden admitted under oath to the House Oversight Committee during a closed-door testimony on Tuesday that she controlled Joe Biden’s autopen.

House Oversight Chairman James Comer recently identified five Biden aides who were involved in the cover-up of Joe Biden’s mental decline and autopen scandal.

Director of Domestic Policy Council Neera Tanden was brought before the Committee on Tuesday and admitted she was authorized to use Joe Biden’s autopen between October 2021 to May 2023.

According to the Washington Examiner, Neera Tanden testified that she was also authorized to direct the autopen; however, she denied manipulation or abuse.

Additionally, Neera Tanden admitted she would utilize the autopen without actually verifying from Joe Biden himself that it was an authorized action.

Earlier this year, the Oversight Project revealed six criminals were pardoned by Biden’s autopen on December 30, 2022, while Joe Biden was vacationing and golfing in St. Croix.

Based on Neera Tanden’s Tuesday testimony, she was likely behind the Biden autopen pardons while Joe Biden was golfing in the US Virgin Islands.

When asked if there was a cover up of Joe Biden health decline, Neera Tanden said, “absolutely not.”

Senator Schmitt said he is now demanding to obtain sealed Biden autopen records.

“It may blow this whole thing open,” Senator Schmitt said.

“I previewed this action this morning. The Biden mental decline coverup was one of the most damning scandals in U.S. history,” Senator Schmitt said.

“A key priority of mine is to make sure that something like this will never happen again. The only way to do that is to figure out what went wrong and who was running the country. With the requested documents, the subcommittee can begin work on crafting a solution,” he said.

“This is a bigger scandal than Watergate,” Senator Schmitt said on Fox Business.

“The “special access request” is a provision of the Presidential Records Act that authorizes a congressional subcommittee to obtain past presidential records necessary for the conduct of its business, even if those records are not yet available to the general public,” Senator Schmitt said.

“Given Biden’s profound mental decline, there are serious questions about the validity of orders signed by autopen in his name,” Schmitt said.

“Accordingly, I have requested for the subcommittee access to all Biden White House memoranda concerning autopen procedures and authorization,” he added.

“I have also requested Biden White House documents about specific uses of the autopen, as well as about pardons made in the final months of his term, Biden’s “Equal Rights Amendment” declaration, and any discussion of the 25th amendment,” Senator Schmitt said.

“We can never again allow our country to be run by nameless, faceless staffers. We can never again question who is running the country or if the acts of our President are legitimate. We can never again be ruled by the autopen,” he said.

President Trump participates in One Big Beautiful Bill Event at the White House

President Trump roasted Democrat Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on Thursday while delivering remarks on the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. 

While speaking about the transgender insanity that his administration is working to end and the radical Democrats who support men taking over women’s sports, the President noted that it’s “guys like Schumer, our great Palestinian senator,” who support this crap.

“He used to like Jewish people. Now he’s totally against Jewish people,” the President said of the highest-ranking Jewish lawmaker.

This is not the first time Trump has called Schumer, who recently endorsed radical communist and jihadist Zohran Mamdani for mayor of New York City, a Palestinian. The President used this nickname for Schumer in a statement slamming Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and rumors that she may run for Schumer’s Senate seat after she called for his impeachment.

“She better start worrying about her own Primary, before she thinks about beating our Great Palestinian Senator, Cryin’ Chuck Schumer, whose career is definitely on very thin ice! She and her Democrat friends have just hit the Lowest Poll Numbers in Congressional History, so go ahead and try Impeaching me, again, MAKE MY DAY!” he said on Truth Social earlier this week.

Trump: And he entered the race, and he beat the champion woman by five hours and 14 seconds. Five hours, that’s a lot. Think of it. You’re waiting five hours for your beautiful daughter to come in. “Come on, baby, let’s go. You can do it.” He won by five hours and 14 seconds. It is crazy, and it’s so demeaning, and they don’t want to change.

I see it the other day, guys like Schumer, our great Palestinian senator. This guy— no, he’s changed. He used to like Jewish people. Now he’s totally against Jewish people.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, the President participated in a One Big Beautiful Bill event in the White House East Room on Thursday to whip up support for his landmark legislation to cut taxes for the working class, secure the border, and fulfill many other campaign promises.

President Trump has demanded Republicans send the bill to his desk so that he can fulfill his second-term agenda, including tax cuts and border security.

White Hosue Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters earlier that she is confident Republicans will deliver by July 4, and she expects a bill signing ceremony for the Act “next week!”

The unelected Senate Parliamentarian has once again proven the D.C. swamp is alive and well.

Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough—first appointed by Democrat swamp king Harry Reid and known for advising Al Gore during the 2000 election debacle—has just gutted key America First reforms from President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” (OBBB).

However, Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) has flatly refused to overrule MacDonough’s rulings.

MacDonough’s controversial rulings stripped out major reforms Republicans had promised voters—ranging from bans on abortion funding, illegal immigrant benefits, and taxpayer-subsidized sex-change operations for minors.

She also struck down measures to end “silver loading” under Obamacare, a policy that has ballooned health insurance premiums and handed more taxpayer cash to insurance companies.

While millions of voters supported President Trump’s legislative agenda, MacDonough shredded those promises using the opaque and unaccountable “Byrd Rule,” a Senate procedure that’s increasingly being wielded like a sword by unelected bureaucrats and weaponized to dismantle the conservative agenda.

GOP lawmakers didn’t hold back. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene blasted MacDonough in a scorched-earth statement:

“The UN-ELECTED Senate Parliamentarian just ruled against throwing illegal aliens off of American taxpayer funded Medicare and Medicaid AND STOPPING MEDICAID AND CHIP FROM FUNDING SEX CHANGES ON CHILDREN!!!

We are trying to undo the America LAST insanity from the Democrats by kicking illegals off of Medicare and Medicaid and stopping taxpayer subsidies from being used for genital mutilation of children!!

But the UN-ELECTED Senate Parliamentarian used the Byrd Rule, meaning these Trump agenda priorities, that deliver our campaign promises, need to be stripped out of the One Big Beautiful Bill.

The UN-ELECTED Deep State bureaucrats, radical far left activist judges, and America LAST Democrats are doing everything they can to destroy President Trump and THE PEOPLE’S agenda!!!”

Rep. Keith Self wrote, “The rogue Senate Parliamentarian should be overruled, just like activist judges.”

Rep. Dan Crenshaw joined the chorus, demanding MacDonough’s immediate termination:

It is time to FIRE the Senate Parliamentarian, Elizabeth MacDonough. This is not about partisanship, it is about rule of law. She has failed to apply the rules of reconciliation accurately on multiple occasions. @LeaderJohnThune should fire her NOW.

There is precedent for this. The Senate Parlimentarian was fired in 2001 by then Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott.

I don’t state this lightly. This is a very serious matter. But the current parliamentarian has shown clear political bias, applying ideology and not the rules of the Senate.

There are many examples of this so far, but today was the final red line for me. She struck my provision that stops federal funding for gender transition procedures, claiming it doesn’t have budgetary impact and therefore is “out of order.”

The FACT is this provision absolutely has a direct budgetary impact. It amends Section 1903(i) of the Social Security Act, which governs federal payments under Medicaid. So MacDonough’s claim that it’s noncompliant on procedural grounds is absolutely wrong.

This is bigger than one provision. It’s about the sanctity of the rules and laws we follow, and the importance of the position of the Head Parliamentarian, who must be an objective non-partisan who applies the rules with consistency, not ideology.

Rep. Scott Perry wrote on X, “First, rogue judges. Now, the Senate parliamentarian’s allegedly off the rails, getting in the way of the “One BBB, ” and slashing the reforms / cuts that 77 million Americans voted for in November. Unelected bureaucrats need to stop meddling in America’s legislative process.”

Rep. Greg Steube urged Vice President J.D. Vance to disregard the parliamentarian’s ruling, arguing on X that he “should overrule the Parliamentarian and let the will of the people… determine the future of this country.”

The Vice President, as President of the Senate, can technically ignore the parliamentarian’s ruling.

“How is it that an unelected swamp bureaucrat, who was appointed by Harry Reid over a decade ago, gets to decide what can and cannot go in President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill?

The Senate Parliamentarian is not elected. She is not accountable to the American people. Yet she holds veto power over legislation supported by millions of voters.

It is time for our elected leaders to take back control. @JDVance should overrule the Parliamentarian and let the will of the people, not some staffer hiding behind Senate procedure, determine the future of this country.”

Sen. Tommy Tuberville torched the parliamentarian, reminding the public that she was appointed by Harry Reid and once advised Al Gore.

“The WOKE Senate Parliamentarian, who was appointed by Harry Reid and advised Al Gore, just STRUCK DOWN a provision BANNING illegals from stealing Medicaid from American citizens. This is a perfect example of why Americans hate THE SWAMP. Unelected bureaucrats think they know better than U.S. Congressmen who are elected BY THE PEOPLE. Her job is not to push a woke agenda. THE SENATE PARLIAMENTARIAN SHOULD BE FIRED ASAP.”

Sen. Jim Banks weighed in, stating, “We’re not going to let the parliamentarian, Democrats, or even squishy Republicans stop us from passing President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill to cut taxes for working families and fund mass deportations.”

Sen. Roger Marshall wrote on X, “In 2001 Leader Trent Lott fired the Senate Parliamentarian during reconciliation. It’s 2025 during reconciliation & we need to again fire the Senate Parliamentarian. My resolution to term limit the parliamentarian will settle this now & in the future.”

Despite the firestorm, Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) flatly refused to overrule the Parliamentarian.

Politico reported:

Senate Majority Leader John Thune said Thursday the Senate would not move to overrule its parliamentarian after she advised that including key provisions in the GOP’s domestic-policy megabill would expose it to a fatal Democratic filibuster.

After the decisions were publicized Thursday, multiple conservative Republicans called on the Senate to sideline Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough. But when asked by POLITICO about overruling her, Thune said, “No, that would not be a good option for getting a bill done.”

In a weak-kneed comment to CNN’s Ted Barrett, Thune mumbled, “I think you guys know I’ve made my position clear on that subject.”

If you want to rip down an American flag and replace it with a Palestinian flag, you are celebrated. If you rip up an LGBTQ flag, you get charged with a hate crime.

There is a manhunt underway for teenage boys who ripped up LGBTQ ‘pride’ flags in Atlanta, Georgia.

Four Atlanta teens are facing potential hate crime charges for cutting up pride flags.

The Atlanta Police Department is still looking for the two other teens.

Illegal alien invaders and far-left rioters can burn the American flag because it’s ‘free speech’ but minor teen boys who ripped up pride flags face potential hate crimes and prison time.
