Activist speaking into a microphone at a rally, surrounded by supporters holding signs, advocating for social justice and community issues.

Somali Activists with Neighbors United demanded reparations after the recent ICE raids.

Neighbors United is a far-left organization started by the Somali community in Minnesota.

The Somali activists gathered together for a press conference on Friday to demand “relief from the damages of ICE terror.”

The Department of Homeland Security arrested more than 4,000 dangerous criminal aliens, including sex offenders, gang members and terrorists in Operation Metro Surge.

“Despite coordinated attacks of violence against our law enforcement, our officers have made more than 4,000 arrests of illegal aliens including murderers, pedophiles, rapists, gang members, and terrorists in Minnesota since Operation Metro Surge began,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.

“We need sanctuary politicians to cooperate with us by notifying us before releasing public safety threats back onto the streets to commit more crimes and create more victims. We will not back down from our mission to remove criminal illegal aliens from American neighborhoods,” she added.

The Somalis spoke broken English as they made outrageous demands which included direct grants to immigrant, black and brown small businesses making less than $200,000 per year.

“We believe programs fit into our criteria. For Somali –small business owners, not those who make $200,000 and above,” the Somali said.

“We don’t make that much amount. We have been suffering since the crisis of ICE. We also demand an immediate help to evictions so families are not pushed to homelessness during the crisis,” she said.

“Our community deserves accountability. Our community deserves safety. We need also justice for those who lost their lives defending the community,” she said.

President Trump on Friday slammed House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and other members of Congress following a Supreme Court ruling that found the President lacked authority to impose tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).

Jeffries was quick to applaud the ruling, calling the President a “wannabe King” on X:

The Supreme Court decision striking down the harmful Trump Tariffs is a big victory for the American people.

And another crushing defeat for the wannabe King.

Trump was asked about his comments and other criticisms on Friday, and he responded, “I would call him a low IQ.”

“I watched him the other day interview. The guy doesn’t even know what a tariff is,” Trump added.

The president further defended his tariffs when pressed by a reporter on attempts by Congress to block his tariff authority, stating, “I have the right to do tariffs, and I’ve always had the right to do tariffs. And it’s all been approved by Congress, so there’s no reason to do it.” He further said the Republicans opposed to his tariffs are “not good Republicans” and that the Democrats are “destroying our country.”

Trump also said during the press conference that his non-IEEPA tariffs will remain in effect and that the SCOTUS decision actually reaffirms his tariff authority.

Transcript:

Reporter: Several of Republicans in Congress have supported this decision by the Supreme Court, and Hakeem Jeffries, the Democratic leader, has called you a wannabe King. Why wouldn’t—

Trump: I would call him a low IQ. He doesn’t even know, and I watched him the other day interview. The guy doesn’t even know what a tariff is.

Reporter: But there’s been bipartisan criticism of the tariffs.

Trump: No, not bipartisan. Excuse me, a few people—

Reporter: There’s several Republicans who have said that.

Trump: Yeah, a few people.

Reporter: But why wouldn’t you just work with Congress to come up with a plan to push tariffs through?

Trump: I don’t have to. I have the right to do tariffs, and I’ve always had the right to do tariffs. And it’s all been approved by Congress, so there’s no reason to do it. All we’re doing is we’re going through a little bit more complicated process, not complicated very much, but a little more complicated than what we had. We’ll be able to take in tariffs, more tariffs, and the Congresspeople—

Reporter: The House just voted down the Canadian tariffs last week. There’s been votes in the Senate against it.

Trump: Yeah, because we lost two Republicans or three Republicans because they’re not good Republicans. What you don’t say, so you don’t say that we had, that we got 215 votes–

Reporter: You need 218 for something to pass.

Trump: Sure, we do. We might have lost three votes, and we got, what was the score on the Republican side? 215, to three, right? But you don’t say that. We have great unity. There’s great unity in the Republican Party. And I hope everyone’s going to vote Republican because, otherwise, you won’t have a country left because these people have been destroying— they are destroying our country.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Trump on Friday said he will invoke global tariffs of 10% Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974 allows the President to impose tariffs of 15% for 150 days with few limitations.

“YOU’RE GOING TO FIND OUT” — Trump Drops Ominous Warning After Reporter Presses Him for Evidence of Foreign Influence Over SCOTUS Tariff Ruling
February 20, 2026

Donald Trump speaks at a press conference in the White House, flanked by American flags and advisors, addressing key issues of the day.

In a stunning blow to President Donald J. Trump’s signature America First economic agenda, six Supreme Court justices, including two he appointed, sided with globalist forces today to invalidate the President’s sweeping tariffs designed to stop foreign nations from bleeding America dry.

Shortly after the decision was handed down, Trump issued a blistering response, expressing outrage at what he described as a deeply flawed ruling that undermines America’s ability to respond to international economic threats.

During remarks following the decision, Trump went further, raising the specter of foreign influence affecting the outcome of the case.

Trump:It’s my opinion that the Court has been swayed by foreign interests and a political movement that is far smaller than people would ever think. It’s a small movement. I won by millions of votes. We won in a landslide.

With all the cheating that went on—there was a lot of it—we still won in a landslide. Too big to rig. But these people are obnoxious, ignorant, and loud. They’re very loud. And I think certain justices are afraid of that. They don’t want to do the right thing. They’re afraid of it.”

WATCH:

During a press exchange, the president was pressed directly on his earlier remarks suggesting that foreign interests may be exerting influence over the judiciary.

Reporter:
“Thank you, Mr. President. What will you say to foreign nations who seek to renegotiate their deals? And what did you mean a moment ago when you said that the Supreme Court has been swayed by foreign interests?”

Trump:
“Well, I think that foreign interests are represented by people that I believe have undue influence. They have a lot of influence over the Supreme Court, whether it’s through fear or respect or friendships. I don’t know, but I know some of the people that were involved on the other side, and I don’t like them. I think they’re real slime balls.

And kind of do what’s right for the country. You got to do what’s right for the Constitution. That’s why I respect so much Justice Thomas and Alito, Kavanaugh, because they not only dissented, their dissent is so strong. When you read their dissent, you know, a lot of times you read a dissent and it’s like, well, you don’t know, it could go either way. There’s no other way.

The good news is, it’s like Justice Kavanaugh said—very strongly said—you have other ways you can go. You don’t have to go that way. You can go either way. There are numerous other ways you can go. And frankly, this should have been done by presidents many years ago. They allowed our country to be eaten alive. We lost 50% of our car business. We used to make cars.”

WATCH:

Trump fired back when pressed for evidence.

Reporter: “You mentioned numerous times of foreign influence over SCOTUS. Do you have evidence of that? ”

Trump:Youre going to find out; you’re going to find out.

The radical left, globalist elites, and their sycophants in the mainstream media thought they had finally scored a fatal blow against President Donald Trump’s historic America First economic agenda.

Following a highly publicized Supreme Court ruling on presidential tariff authorities, the fake news complex immediately went into overdrive, falsely declaring that the highest court in the land had “dismantled” the Trump administration’s cornerstone trade policies.

They were wrong. And Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent just stepped up to the podium at the Economic Club of Dallas to completely vaporize their narrative.

Bessent:
I would also like to take a moment to address today’s Supreme Court ruling, and I would note that I did not change a single word in my speech post-ruling. President Trump will always put our national security and Americans first.

As I have said before, the president has multiple tools in his toolbox. Let’s be clear about what today’s ruling was and what it wasn’t.

Despite the misplaced gloating from Democrats, ill-informed media outlets, and the very people who gutted our industrial base, the Court did not rule against President Trump’s tariffs.

Six justices simply ruled that IEEPA authorities cannot be used to raise even $1 of revenue. This administration will invoke alternative legal authorities to replace the IEEPA tariffs.

We will be leveraging Section 232 and Section 301 tariff authorities that have been validated through thousands of legal challenges.

Treasury’s estimates show that the use of Section 122 authority, combined with potentially enhanced Section 232 and Section 301 tariffs, will result in virtually unchanged tariff revenue in 2026.

WATCH:

The ruling in Learning Resources, Inc. v. Trump determined that the 1977 sanctions law does not grant the executive branch authority to levy tariffs during peacetime emergencies.

However, critically:

  • The Court’s decision only impacts tariffs imposed under IEEPA
  • Tariffs issued under Section 232 national security authorities remain intact
  • Trade enforcement actions under Section 301 are unaffected

In fact, tariffs imposed under Section 232, including duties on steel and aluminum, were enacted under separate statutory authority and remain legally valid.

President Trump has already announced a temporary global tariff under Section 122, which allows duties of up to 15% for 150 days without procedural requirements in response to serious trade imbalances.

Meanwhile, the administration is launching new Section 301 investigations and revisiting Section 232 authorities to impose more targeted or expanded tariffs going forward.
