Paul Ehrlich died last week. I doubt he would have minded, considering he thought there should have been a lot fewer people on earth. Really, if he wanted to put his money where his rhetoric was, he should have checked out a bit earlier.

Ehrlich, who passed away at the age of 93 on Friday, was a Stanford University biologist best known for his 1968 book “The Population Bomb.” The thesis was effectively in the title — overpopulation would kill us all.

“The battle to feed all of humanity is over. In the 1970s and 1980s hundreds of millions of people will starve to death in spite of any crash programs embarked upon now,” he wrote in the book, predicting that four billion humans would die.

Well, this didn’t work out as planned. In his obituary, The New York Times did put an “austere religious scholar” twist on his legacy, noting in the subtitle that “he faced criticism when his predictions proved premature.”

I guess they figured that was defensible because there are over eight billion people on the planet now and they’ll all die eventually, if not writhing from hunger due to that pesky population bomb that never happened.

There are plenty of reasons to loathe both Ehrlich himself and the legacy he leaves behind, but this clip from 1970 making the rounds should neatly demonstrate why we oughtn’t lament the loss.

Ehrlich was being asked what the government should do to control the population. He said he was “against government interference in our lives” to start with, which turned out to be just as much of a lie as the rest of his life’s work.

“The very first thing the government should do is try and take the pressure off to reproduce,” Ehrlich said. “There’s a lot of pressure in our society now to reproduce.”

“If you’re single, people try and push you into getting married,” he added. “The idea is that nobody should escape. So there’s pressure to get married.”

“Young couples, if they don’t have children, people say, gee, they must be sterile,” he continued. “They never say, gee, maybe they like good wine and going to the theater and so on. They prefer that to scraping diapers. So there’s pressure to have children.”

At least in that respect, Ehrlich has succeeded, although not through government intervention: We’ve convinced an entire generation that they should care about fleeting pleasures more than the greatest joys in life, although we’ve made them feel guilty about that, too. (Wine has a carbon footprint, after all!)

However, Ehrlich wanted more — he wanted White House intervention.

“The president ought to say, from now, here on out, no intelligent, patriotic American family ought to have more than two children, preferably one, if you’re starting a family now,” Ehrlich said. “Not any law, but just say this is what responsible people do.”

And then he said there should be a law — of the most ridiculous sort.

“He ought to make the FCC see to it that large families are always treated in a negative light on television, wherever they appear,” Ehrlich continued. “There ought to be a tremendous amount of television time devoted to spot commercials, the sort we’ve had against smoking. But ones in the middle, say, in the middle of ‘The Beverly Hillbillies,’ you get a scene which shows Los Angeles in the smog and it just says, ‘This city has a fatal disease. It’s called overpopulation.’ So long.”

I don’t know whether that suggestion would be silly if it weren’t so dangerous, or dangerous if it weren’t so silly. Can’t you picture the theme song, revised? “Come and listen to a story ’bout a man named Jed / poor mountaineer barely kept his family fed / and rightly so, because he didn’t abort his kids and get sterilized / don’t be like Jed, or else we’ll all be dead / you filthy breeders.”

But that was Ehrlich in a nutshell, sadly: a man whose predictions and solutions were, usually in the same breath, both fatuous and fatal.

No, that “population bomb” he predicted never materialized — nor did any of his other doomsday prophecies, of which there are too many to catalogue here. However, he was taken seriously by enough people to make life for those on this earth — especially the poorest and the unborn — unimaginably worse.

By the end, he seemed to be pushing austerity for austerity’s sake, still warning of a “sixth mass extinction” — an event which would kill off 75 percent of the species on the planet — as late as 2023.

And, when people pointed out that he’d been wrong about literally everything else he’d built his life’s work on, his response was: “Sure I’ve made some mistakes, but no basic ones.”

Yeah, except for that prediction that four billion people would die of hunger in the 1970s and 1980s, or any of his other major predictions, no “basic” mistakes whatsoever.

It’s bad form to actively wish death upon people. But then again, that’s pretty much what Paul Ehrlich spent his career doing, all supposedly in the name of making the world more livable. The nicest thing I can say regarding his passing is that 93 years into his tenure upon this earth, he finally succeeded, quite accidentally, in addition by existential subtraction, albeit at the smallest possible scale.

In 2023, Colorado parents sued Poudre School District after discovering sixth-graders were being recruited to a secret after-school “art” club that turned out to be a gender and sexuality awareness club.

In Lee v. Poudre School District R-1, two families, Jonathan and Erin Lee, and Nicolas and Linnaea Jurich, sued the district, alleging it groomed their daughters into the LGBTQ cult through secretive Gender and Sexualities Alliance (GSA) meetings.

The lawsuit was dismissed, and on April 22, 2025, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld that dismissal.

When the lawsuit was initially filed, Lee told Fox News’ Harris Faulkner,”The art teacher had invited in an outside presenter into the classroom that day, and this woman did absolutely unthinkable things with the kids.”

The presenter also told students they could describe themselves as “queer” if they had not yet figured out their sexuality.

“She talked to them about polyamory. She told them that these new labels that they had just adopted made them more likely to commit suicide and talked to them extensively about suicide,” she continued.

The presenter also allegedly discussed puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, warning those in attendance that their parents may not be “safe” people to turn to as they struggle with certain identities.

“She [the speaker] runs an organization called ‘Skittles’ for kids five to eleven to discuss gender and sexuality,” Lee said, noting that her daughter’s art teacher pulled her aside and told her “you don’t have to tell your parents.”

Lee joined Grant Stinchfield on Real America’s Voice to share her family’s journey.

Grant Stinchfield: Erin, it’s a pleasure and thank you for the fight that you’re putting up. I’ve been watching you now over the last few days and I apologize, not longer than that, but man, oh man, you are fighting for children in Colorado and beyond. Can you tell me briefly the story of your daughter, what happened and why that sparked such a fight in you, Erin?

Erin Lee: Yeah, it’s been almost 5 years now that my daughter had just turned 12 and was lured into this secret gender and sexuality club disguised as an art club where an outside organization called ‘Skittles’ told her, if you’re not comfortable if you’re uncomfortable in your body, that means you’re transgender.

And if you don’t know who you’re attracted to, that means you’re queer.

And they glitter bombed her with toys and celebration, taught her explicit concepts like polyamory, and it can— like, told her over and over, do not tell your parents about this meeting. So repeatedly emphasize, your parents might not be safe, you don’t have to tell them.

And when she came home and told us, we were vilified. So the school district actually sent in a mandated reporter for a well-child check on our family because we weren’t instantly affirming of her trans identity that they put on her in this secret meeting we weren’t even supposed to know about.

Grant Stinchfield: So it’s stunning to me because you would think common sense tells you that any changes in a child you would want to have discussed with the parents. I don’t know if your child was showing any changes or not, but it was the exact opposite that happened. They tried to do something without your knowledge, and then vilified you for it all. What is the outcome of all this? I know your case had gone to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court refused to take it up, so you really have not had any justice with this yet?

Erin Lee: Yeah, and our daughter wasn’t showing signs. She was just a normal girl in the midst of COVID starting puberty, of course she was uncomfortable in her 12-year-old body, and they just completely took advantage of her vulnerability.

And so we did— we— when we went public, there were so many other families that came forward that there are multiple families on our lawsuit that Pam Bondi took and went all the way to the Supreme Court. They didn’t take it up, but I want to believe that we put a crack in the dam for the families behind us.

There are two other cases that sit before SCOTUS from Massachusetts and Florida, very similar nature, secret school transitions. And so they did— three justices led by Alito put out a decision that they didn’t take the case, but they recognized this was troubling and tragic and that it had to be addressed by the lower courts, that this was an issue being dodged and of great national importance. So this, unfortunately, is such a ubiquitous issue. What happened to my family is not uncommon. It’s almost like it’s the rule, not the exception, that parents are left in the dark, our kids are being sexually sexualized.

And if they show any signs of being uncomfortable in their body, then they’re automatically labeled as transgender, and we’re left out of the equation. So we have not had justice for our school district.

Grant Stinchfield: You mentioned Justice Alito and his writings here. Let me put that up on the screen. Cut 7. He says, quote, “I remain concerned that some federal courts are tempted to avoid confronting a particularly contentious constitutional question: whether a school district violates parents’ fundamental rights when, without parental knowledge or consent, it encourages a student to transition to a new gender or assist in that process.”

He goes on to say, “The troubling and tragic allegations in this case underscore the great and growing national importance of the question that these parent petitioners present.”

Now, he says he remains concerned. Concerned is an understatement, Erin, because if you are correct that— and I believe you are, by the way— that this is going on still in states across this country, something has to be done to protect these children, Erin.

Erin Lee: Yes. And these are our fundamental rights. I’m glad they addressed it that way. Yes, they’re constitutionally protected. I believe our Founding Fathers are rolling in their grave at the thought that this would even need to be explicitly written into the Constitution, that parents parent their children, not the government.

But that’s what’s happening on so many levels: parents are being left in the dark, the government thinks they know what’s best for our kids, and if we’re not willing to go along with it, we’re the enemy.

In fact, there are over a dozen families here in Colorado, mostly dads, who have lost custody of their kids for not being willing to go by the transgender identity, who either lost full or partial custody of their children because they’re not willing to do what the government has done in secret with their kids. So I know it’s happening everywhere, and it’s happened in red and blue states alike.

Grant Stinchfield: You know, it’s such a shame because Colorado is such a great state, but they’ve gone off the deep end. No offense to you living there, but, you know, Real Americans Voice, our headquarters are in Denver. Colorado’s gone off the deep end, and it is such a shame that this is going on.

Last question real quick. Did anything happen to the teacher that tried to do this, that literally, I would say, tried to mentally kidnap your child?

Erin Lee: The teacher was celebrated and promoted.

I found through public record requests where they apologized to her for me going public that she had to suffer that kind of attention.

She’s now still in charge of this club five years later, and she’s also in charge of the student council overnights that happen at the facility where she’s alone with middle school children.

So she has been celebrated. The school district has doubled down on transitioning kids and lying to parents as young as 8. I found evidence of them transitioning an 8-year-old after parents objected. Encourage people to look into Laurel Elementary School. So it’s still common practice, and they celebrate the teachers who are doing it.

Grant Stinchfield: And your daughter’s doing great.

Erin Lee: She’s doing great. It’s been 5 years. Yep. She’s one of the lucky ones that came out on the other side.

President Trump responded to the resignation of the US’s top counterterrorism official in protest of the Iran war.

Joe Kent resigned on Tuesday and said the US started the war against Iran due to pressure from Israel.

“After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today,” Joe Kent said.

“I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran,” he said.

“Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby,” he said.

“As a veteran who deployed to combat 11 times and as a Gold Star husband who lost my beloved wife Shannon in a war manufactured by Israel, I cannot support sending the next generation off to fight and die in a war that serves no benefit to the American people nor justifies the cost of American lives,” he added.

According to Fox News’ White House Correspondent Jacqui Heinrich, Joe Kent was a “known leaker” and was cut out of President Trump’s intel briefings months ago.

This has not been confirmed by the White House.

President Trump was asked about Joe Kent’s resignation during an Oval Office meeting with the Taoiseach of Ireland, Micheál Martin.

“I always thought he was weak on security. Very weak on security,” Trump said.

“I didn’t know him well. But I thought he seemed like a pretty nice guy,” he said.

“But when I read his statement, I realized that it’s a good thing he’s out because he said Iran was not a threat,” Trump added.

Somali-born Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is lashing out at President Trump’s supporters and spreading falsehoods about him following politically incorrect comments he made on Monday about her and her place of birth.

As The Gateway Pundit’s Jordan Conradson reported, President Trump slammed the nation of Somalia and Omar while signing an executive order to establish the nation’s “first ever” task force to investigate fraud in federally administered housing, food, medical care, and cash assistance programs.

Trump did not mince words while addressing Omar’s homeland, explaining how it is the ultimate place of anarchy and poverty.

“Somalia’s a Third World, maybe a fourth world nation, one of the worst, one of the most dangerous,” Trump said. “They don’t have anything. They don’t have councils, they don’t have government, they don’t have police.

“They shoot each other all over the place.”

Trump then turned to Vice President JD Vance, suggesting that he look into Omar’s potential illegal status in America and also whether she married her brother.

“I hope this is part of it, but she married her brother, supposedly. I mean, there’s a lot of documentation, that means she’s here illegally, and she’s a congresswoman, and I hope you’re going to be looking at that, or somebody is all right?” he told Vance.

An angry Omar fired back on X, calling Trump and his supporters “stupid.” She also spread a vile lie about him, saying he was implicated in the “worst ped*phile corruption case.”

Omar, of course, was referring to the deceased Jeffrey Epstein. Trump cut ties with Epstein about 15 years before the ped*phile’s death in 2019.

“The most disturbing part of his unhinged comments is how comfortable he is in telling the world how stupid he and his followers are,” Omar wrote.

“But I guess it’s expected from a man who regularly and publicly fantasized about sleeping with his own daughter and is clearly implicated in the worst ped*phile cover-up case.”

The Gateway Pundit was the first to report on Omar’s marriage to her second husband and alleged brother, Ahmed N. Elmi.

In 2017, Omar swore under penalty of perjury while divorcing her husband (brother?) that she hadn’t seen Ahmed N. Elmi since 2011 and didn’t know anyone who could help her contact him.

But evidence emerged in September 2019 that Omar may have indeed married her brother, and that her real name may be Ilhan Nur Said.
