Perhaps it’s not surprising that liberal Minneapolis prosecutor Julie Le, who went viral for telling a judge “this job sucks” in protest of immigration enforcement is looking for a new job. It’s also not surprising the new job she’s seeking is that of a lawmaker running on an anti-ICE platform.

What is surprising is who the Democrat is taking on: Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar, the left’s most obnoxious sacred cow.

As the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported Thursday, the former federal attorney who lashed out at a judge over ICE enforcement during Operation Metro Surge is gunning for the Democratic nomination for the U.S. House in Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District.

“Former Assistant Chief Counsel at the Department of Homeland Security and former Special Assistant United States Attorney at the United States Attorney’s Office, Julie T. Le has witnessed firsthand the failures of our broken immigration system,” her campaign website reads.

“Now she’s running for Congress to fight for real reform — and to fight for quality education and accessible healthcare for all families … Her vision is clear: Inspire Unity — a government that works for everyone, bringing people together to solve our greatest challenges through comprehensive immigration reform, education funding, and accessible healthcare for all families.”

“Julie’s campaign is centered on immigration reform that balances border security with a fair pathway to citizenship for those who contribute to society,” a media release from Le’s campaign said, according to Minnesota Public Radio.

Of course, this whole run wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for the fact that Le effectively crashed out of public service during a Feb. 3 hearing in which she had what could charitably be described as an — ahem — episode.

Telling the judge that she had “stupidly” accepted the assignment with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Minnesota, she all but begged the judge to penalize her so she could get a mental health day:

“Sometime I wish you would just hold me in contempt, your honor, so that I can have full 24 hours of sleep,” she said.

“What do you want me to do? The system sucks. This job sucks,” she added.

Le was quickly removed from the detail, according to the New York Post.

“The individual was a probationary attorney. This conduct is unprofessional and unbecoming of an ICE attorney in abandoning her obligation to act with commitment, dedication, and zeal to the interests of the United States Government,” said then-Department of Homeland Security assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.

Unprofessional and unbecoming? Well, the next step was clearly Congress, where that’s not only acceptable, but encouraged on the left.

And what’s more, she looks positively reasonable compared to the woman who currently holds the seat.

Le told The New York Times that “she would be a more moderate lawmaker than Ms. Omar, who has called for abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement.”

Of course, anyone to the right of the corpse of Fidel Castro could be perceived as more moderate than Omar, a virulent anti-Semite and firebrand who also happens to appear corrupt as all get-out and has been plausibly accused of committing immigration fraud by entering into a marriage of convenience with a man sources have claimed is her brother.

And while Omar has the advantage of fundraising and the support of the Somali community in the district, it’s worth noting that she’s faced other tough challenges since she was first elected in 2018.

A 2022 Democratic primary against small-fry state politician Don Samuels ended in a narrow victory for the incumbent “squad” member, 50.3 to 48.2 percent.

Omar’s penchant for rhetorical bomb-throwing and self-promoting, in other words, makes her a thorn in the side of Democrats — and a boon for Republicans, who have bought more than a few lunches off of her gaffes and solecisms.

So, yes, Le has an uphill battle, but she’s got two things on her side. First, the primary isn’t until August. Second, even Democrats are tiring of having to explain Ilhan Omar’s antics to America. Of course, it’s not exactly the best substitute in the world, what with it being a prosecutor who thought her job “sucks” because she has to enforce immigration law. It says a lot when we can be pretty certain she’d still be better than Omar.

Nearly a dozen Indian nationals face charges after they were accused of taking part in a visa fraud scheme that included fake robberies.

The convenience store robberies were staged so that clerks could falsely claim on immigration applications that they were crime victims, according to a Department of Justice news release.

Six defendants live in Massachusetts, two live in Ohio, one lives in Mississippi, and one lives in Kentucky. Another who lived in Massachusetts has already been deported.

All were charged with one count of conspiracy to commit visa fraud:

The release said that the fake robberies began in 2023.

The alleged purpose of the staged robberies “was to allow the clerks present to claim falsely that they were victims of a violent crime on an application for U non-immigration status (U Visa),” the release said.

“A U Visa is available to victims of certain crimes who have suffered mental or physical abuse and who have been helpful to law enforcement in the investigation or prosecution of criminal activity,” the release added.

The fake robber would allegedly threaten a clerk with what appeared to be a gun before taking cash from a register and fleeing — with store video recording the entire staged incident.

After five minutes, the supposed victims would call police.

The release said that those charged participated in the scheme by working with the scheme’s organizer or paying for a fake robbery to take place.

In August, Rambhai Patel, 38, was sentenced to 20 months and eight days in prison, followed by two years of supervised release and eventual deportation for his role in the scheme, according to a Department of Justice news release.

The release said Patel was paid by the clerks so that he could participate in the scheme.

Patel was alleged to be the fake robber.

The August release said that “one purported victim paid $20,000 to participate as a victim in one of the staged armed robberies.”

Patel then paid store owners to allow the scheme to take place.

Co-conspirator Brandon Singh pleaded guilty in May, according to a Department of Justice news release.

Officials said Singh served as Patel’s getaway driver.

Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett’s security officer was fatally shot by Dallas SWAT officers this week.

The security officer, Mike King, was a fugitive after impersonating a law enforcement officer.

King was killed in his garage during a standoff with Dallas SWAT officers on Wednesday night.

CBS reported:

A man shot and killed by Dallas police earlier this week was a familiar figure in North Texas law enforcement – and part of the security detail for U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett, sources told CBS News Texas.

Multiple law enforcement sources tell CBS News Texas the man, known publicly as Mike King, had been using aliases while running a business that placed officers in off‑duty jobs.

King was killed Wednesday night after a standoff with Dallas police SWAT officers. Police say he fled into a hospital parking garage, barricaded himself inside a vehicle, and was forced out by tear gas before pulling a gun on officers.

Sources say he was wanted for impersonating a law enforcement officer and had claimed to be one while operating Off Duty Police Services, an online platform connecting North Texas officers with off‑duty work. Authorities have not released his real name.

Will the Gulf states turn on Iran?

It does seem at this point that the first attack by an Arab nation against the Iranian mullahs has already happened.

The New York Times reported (behind a paywall) that they were able to verify video showing ballistic missiles launched from Bahrain toward Iran.

“A video verified by The New York Times shows ballistic missiles being launched from Bahrain in the direction of Iran, in what appears to be the first confirmed instance of an attack on the Islamic Republic originating from a Persian Gulf country since the war began.”

By hosting the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet, Bahrain has been accused by Iran of enabling US military operations.

The footage was originally shared on X by a user calling himself Egypt’s Intel Observer (@EGYOSINT), and was geolocated to northern Bahrain, near the airport.

NYT’s Experts identified the launcher for at least one missile as a U.S.-made M142 HIMARS truck.

“That launcher is a U.S.-made M142 HIMARS truck, according to Wes J. Bryant, a national security analyst who served in the U.S. Air Force, and Fabian Hoffmann, a missile specialist at the University of Oslo.”

Bahrain purchased this equipment in 2025, but as of now, it’s unclear if U.S. or Bahraini forces were operating it.

The Gulf nations – and even Bahrain – have denied allowing missile launches from their territory – to avoid Iranian retaliation.

The NYT heard experts suggesting that US personnel may be operating the systems, given their presence and Bahrain’s limited capabilities.

A young man who was in the United States illegally has made stunning remarks during an interview that have set the standard for personal responsibility and maturity.

Earlier this week, “Ted,” sat down with The Telegraph to detail his experience of being deported from America back to his nation of birth, the United Kingdom. Per his request, The Telegraph changed his name to “Ted” for the interview. 

“Ted” is a British national, but his parents took him to America illegally when he was a child.

His first removal order was in 2013. He was just 12 years old at the time.

“Ted” revealed to The Telegraph that ICE detained him last year while on his way to the airport to go to a friend’s wedding. He was then taken to a county jail and held there for three weeks.

The man then revealed that he was loaded onto an American Airlines flight to London Heathrow Airport, where he was released.

Despite this inconvenience, Ted not only refused to make excuses for his actions but also defended Trump’s immigration policies, specifically pointing to the chaos in Minnesota.

“Any president who wants a lawfully ordered nation has the right and the duty and the obligation to enforce deportation,” “Ted” said.

At the end, “Ted” seemed to suggest that Trump was not going far enough in cracking down on illegals, saying the president should have sent the National Guard to Minnesota after withdrawing DHS forces.

TED: In the summer or early autumn of last year, I was arrested, detained, and deported by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Chicago.

I was actually on the way to the airport, heading to a friend’s wedding. I had just gotten into an Uber on the way to the airport from my apartment.

They had a specific warrant for me…They knew my work schedule. They had been monitoring me.

I was taken to a county jail, where I was detained in a cell with maybe 40 other detainees. I was there for three weeks, then loaded onto an American Airlines flight and taken to London Heathrow Airport, at which point I was released.

I’m not making excuses. I should have been deported.

There is an illegal immigration crisis in America, and any president who wants a lawfully ordered nation has the right and the duty and the obligation to enforce deportation.

And yet, with what just happened in Minnesota, you saw these leftist agitators that were impeding law enforcement. They were obstructing the enforcement of the law in (ICE’s) attempts to detain and deport illegal immigrants, especially criminal illegal immigrants.

And what Trump did is he pulled the Department of Homeland Security out of Minnesota. I think, if anything, if he were being consistent with his policies, he should have brought in the National Guard and doubled down.

How refreshing to see someone take responsibility, refuse to play the victim, and keep a level head. Almost all illegal immigrants immediately point the finger at anyone other than themselves.

For good measure, “Ted” also called Britain “a dump” compared to America. Considering the loss of basic freedoms, far-left policies, and appeasement of radical Islam in the U.K., it’s tough to argue with “Ted’s” assessment.
