Jeopardy Super Champ Blasts ICE During Victory Media Tour After Historic 31-Game Winning Streak Ends

Smiling contestant wearing glasses and a gray sweater stands at a game show podium with blue lighting in the background.

Jeopardy super-champion Jamie Ding wrapped up his record-breaking 31-game winning streak on Monday, and then the 33-year-old New Jersey law student used his post-show media tour to launch a political attack on President Donald Trump’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations.

Ding is a Princeton University graduate and the son of Chinese immigrants from Beijing.

Speaking to People Magazine after his big win, Ding said that his appearance as an immigrant and person of color on the iconic game show was especially meaningful because “as an immigrant and a person of color, I was able to become part of the history of an American institution.”

“Jeopardy! really is an institution, and America’s turning 250 years old, and the federal government is going after immigrants in a way unlike anything that we’ve seen in the recent past,” Ding told the magazine.

Ding added, “So I hope that immigrants can be seen in a positive light too.”

The woke champion’s streak ended when Philadelphia chess master Greg Shahade defeated him in a 13,990-point runaway victory.

Ding still secured a spot in the next Tournament of Champions and signed off in Final Jeopardy with the message “TTFN” (ta ta for now).

His 31 consecutive wins rank him fifth all-time behind Ken Jennings (74), Amy Schneider (40), Matt Amodio (38), and James Holzhauer (32), People noted.

During his run, Ding collected $882,605 in regular-season winnings, placing him among the show’s top earners.

Ding was raised in Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan. He is the son of Yuchuan Ding, a neuroscience professor at Wayne State University, and Ning Yan, a retired mathematics teacher.

Ding was born in Australia, but is a naturalized U.S. citizen.

His family has publicly celebrated his run because of how it benefits immigrant families.

Jessie Ding, the champ’s sister, told the Detroit Free Press:

“What that means for us and for immigrant families, it’s really cool to see, like, the idea that my parents can immigrate here from China and then their son can go on, and this is a very American show, and he can go on and carve out a piece of history for himself.”

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche with newly confirmed ATF Director Robert Cekada (DOJ)

In a HUGE victory for the Second Amendment and law-abiding Americans everywhere, the Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives announced this week they are unleashing 34 notices of final and proposed rulemaking to slash the mountain of Biden-era red tape strangling gun owners and Federal Firearms Licensees.

The move follows a top-to-bottom review of ATF regulations ordered by President Trump’s Executive Order 14206, “Protecting Second Amendment Rights.”

After years of the Biden ATF acting as an unaccountable attack dog against honest gun shops and citizens, the agency is finally being forced to listen to industry experts, FFLs, and everyday Americans who just want to exercise their God-given constitutional rights without the federal government breathing down their necks.

This is the first wave of reforms. More are coming. The Trump administration is keeping its promise to dismantle the deep-state gun-control apparatus piece by piece.

“The Second Amendment is not a second-class right,” said U.S. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche. “This Department of Justice is ending the weaponization of federal authority against law-abiding gun owners. We will continue to vigorously defend their rights as the Constitution demands.”

Below are the summary of the 34 proposed and final regulatory changes affecting firearms, explosives, importation, federal firearms licensees (FFLs), and ATF procedures.

  1. Modernize
Updating recordkeeping and business practices, such as:
  • Electronic records for gun dealers
  • Changes to Form 4473
  • Defined retention periods for records
  • License verification updates
  1. Reduce Burden
Removing or simplifying requirements seen as costly or unnecessary for lawful gun owners and businesses, such as:
  • Interstate transport procedures
  • Spousal registration for NFA firearms
  • Removing some notification requirements
  1. Clarify
Providing clearer definitions and standards, including:
  • Straw purchase language
  • Mental health-related prohibitions
  • Biological sex designation on ATF forms
  • Business premises definitions
  1. Align
Updating regulations to match court rulings, statutes, and partner agencies.
  2. Repeal
    Rescinding prior controversial rules, including:
  • 2023 Stabilizing Brace Rule
  • 2024 Engaged-in-the-Business Rule
  • Revising machine gun definitions after Garland v. Cargill

Flashback: Jake Tapper Defends Kimmel’s ‘Jokes,’ but Melted Down When Aaron Rodgers Linked ABC Host to Epstein
April 30, 2026

Jokes that implicitly call for violence aren’t calling for violence, to hear Jake Tapper tell it. At least, not if they’re told by Jimmy Kimmel.

If they’re told about Jimmy Kimmel, even if they don’t implicitly call for violence, they’re “false, defamatory, wildly irresponsible and not funny.” At least if they’re told by Aaron Rodgers.

Got that?

Well, we really don’t, either, but Tapper is a man who can keep a straight face through his inconsistencies. Heck, he can even sound Very Serious, as if he’s some sort of Walter Cronkite, when he’s 1) defending a late-night host who called the first lady an “expectant widow” just days before her husband faced his third credible assassination attempt in two years and 2) calling for NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers to be taken off the air for joking about Jimmy Kimmel being linked to Jeffrey Epstein.

So, in case you missed it, here’s the joke Kimmel made during his fake White House Correspondents’ Association dinner monologue on his show, before Trump was almost killed at the real dinner:

Kimmel himself has excused this as a joke about Trump’s age, which totally makes sense when you consider all of those “expectant widow” jokes about Jill Biden, which total, um, zero. But anyway, people calling for ABC to take some sort of action against Kimmel need to get their priorities in check, so sayeth Tapper.

“It is a big problem of calls for violence and dehumanization, and it’s getting worse. But it is not a problem to be wielded like a cudgel to try to stop journalism or jokes,” he said Monday.

“Journalism and jokes are not calls for violence, calls for violence are calls for violence, and far too many Americans in positions of power and influence are too blasé and too glib about those who make them.”

However, when those jokes are being made about Kimmel, Tapper flips. Back in 2024, during one of his appearances on “The Pat McAfee Show” on ESPN, Rodgers made a joke as the so-called Epstein list was about to be unsealed by a judge.

“There’s a lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel, who are really hoping that doesn’t come out,” he quipped.

Kimmel didn’t find jokes about him funny, threatening to sue, according to Mediaite. And you know who else didn’t find it funny? Tapper.

“This is child sex trafficking we’re talking about,” said an incensed Tapper. “That’s not funny!”

No, certainly not like “expectant widow” is funny. Instead, he said this was “false, defamatory, wildly irresponsible, and not funny.”

And get this: He also thought that since ESPN was a property of ABC’s parent company, Disney, it was time for them to get Rodgers off the air.

“Why is Disney even allowing this to happen?” Tapper asked Deadspin’s Julie DiCaro. “Does [CEO Bob Iger] allow ESPN and this nitwit … to continue to have this forum, even when they are smearing someone who has been working for ABC for more than 20 years now?”

What about those “jokes,” Jake? C’mon. Using Epstein as a cudgel to stop a jocund reference to Kimmel seems a little less problematic than “expectant widow,” especially since nobody seriously thinks Jimmy Kimmel was on the list. But we all know that Kimmel would never joke about Epstein, especially as it relates to Trump.

Oh.

In other words, this is yet another case of no standards but double standards. And as for journalistic objectivity, it’s worth noting that Kimmel and Tapper are friends, which is probably one of the explanations for this. At least we have the receipts to prove the hypocrisy — and just how recently it happened.

Trump Hits Back at Germany’s Merz for Suggesting that Iran ‘Is Humiliating the US’, as Foreign Minister Wadephul Tries To Walk Back the Absurd Comments by Failing Chancellor

False ally Merz has a big mouth, and now his government is trying to undo the damage.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is a failing head of government with dismal poll numbers, leading a country with a stagnant economy and a fractured society.

In April, only 18% of German citizens are satisfied with Merz’s work – a record low number, while as much as 80% think he is doing a bad job.

But as a typical Globalist ‘leader’, he feels entitled to criticize actual world leaders and pontificate about what they should or should not do.

As we reported earlier here in TGP, Merz made an incredibly offensive comment about the US being ‘humiliated’ by Iran, and having no strategy.

But as we know, US President Donald J. Trump is not one to forgive or forget a slight or an offense.

Donald Trump criticizes German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's stance on Iran's nuclear weapons and discusses his actions regarding Iran and Germany's economic situation.

“The Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz, thinks it’s OK for Iran to have a Nuclear Weapon. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about! If Iran had a Nuclear Weapon, the whole World would be held hostage. I am doing something with Iran, right now, that other Nations, or Presidents, should have done long ago. No wonder Germany is doing so poorly, both Economically, and otherwise! President DONALD J. TRUMP”

Reuters reported:

“Merz said on Monday that Iran’s leadership was humiliating the ‌United States and getting U.S. officials to travel to Pakistan and then leave without results, in an unusually pointed rebuke over the conflict.

Merz also said he did not see what exit strategy the U.S. was pursuing in the Iran war – comments that underlined deep divisions between Washington and its European NATO allies, which had already been festering over Ukraine and other issues.”

And after the repercussion of Merz’s criticism, the German government is trying to walk back the comments and undo the damage.
