Judge Delays Comey’s Trump Assassination Threat Case Until 2027
September 25, 2026
Last week, embattled former FBI Director James Comey asked the court for a 4-month delay of the trial scheduled for next month in the Trump assassination threat case – and the judge granted his request.
A federal judge on Friday delayed James Comey’s Trump assassination threat case until early 2027.
The Justice Department did not oppose Comey’s request.
The seashells-based prosecution of former FBI Director James Comey has been delayed until early 2027, as a judge makes her way through a number of pending motions, including a request by Comey to dismiss the case on grounds that it was driven by President Donald Trump’s animus.
U.S. District Judge Louise Flanagan declined to set a trial date in the case against Comey, in which prosecutors say that a photo he posted on Instagram of seashells arranged to spell out “8647” amounted to a threat against the president. The term “86” is widely considered to be restaurant slang for running out of or canceling an item, and 47 is thought to be a reference to the 47th president.
Comey, who has not entered a plea yet in the case, had been set to be arraigned Wednesday at a federal courthouse in New Bern, North Carolina, but Flanagan pushed the arraignment until January.
Comey’s team had asked to delay the case.
Earlier this year, a grand jury from the Eastern District of North Carolina indicted Comey on two felony counts:
COUNT ONE: Knowingly and willfully make a threat to take the life of, and to inflict bodily harm upon, the President of the United States;
COUNT TWO: knowingly and willfully did transmit in interstate and foreign commerce a communication that contained a threat to kill the President, Donald J. Trump
James Comey posted his threatening ‘8647’ Instagram post in May 2025.
“Cool shell formation on my beach walk,” Comey said.
’86 47′ is a threat to ‘eliminate/kill’ the 47th president.

In a court filing earlier this year, Comey’s lawyers asked Judge Louise Flanagan, a George W. Bush appointee, to push back the trial date to October. They later asked for another delay.
The trial was previously tentatively scheduled for July 15.
Comey’s lead counsel, Patrick Fitzgerald, a former US Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, told the judge that Comey will file motions seeking dismissal of the indictment:
“Mr. Comey expects to file multiple motions on constitutional grounds seeking dismissal of the indictment. Some of these motions may be dependent upon the discovery to be produced by the Government, and may require extensive briefing,” Fitzgerald wrote.
“Discovery is still forthcoming from the Government. For that reason, Mr. Comey respectfully requests that the Court extend the current scheduling deadlines, and set the following schedule for motions and arraignment,” he added.
Big Hospitals Organize to Crush Opposition to Higher Health Care Costs in Michigan

Health insurance premiums are skyrocketing again. Families opening renewal notices this year are confronting some of the steepest increases in a decade. Marketplace insurers in Obamacare are seeking median hikes of about 14 percent for 2027 after earlier double-digit jumps, and employer plans are climbing with them.
Obamacare was sold as the answer to unaffordable coverage. In practice it became the genesis of a more consolidated market. Federal payment rules paid hospital systems more for the same office visit once they owned the clinic.
Those rules encouraged conglomerates to buy physician practices, reclassify them as outpatient departments, and tack on facility fees. Prices rose. Competition shrank.
A fight now unfolding in the Michigan Legislature is emblematic of how greedy hospital conglomerates defend the failed Obamacare model and work to keep costs high. Republican lawmakers are challenging one of the hidden charges driving those costs higher, but the special interests benefiting from the status quo are mobilizing aggressively to stop them.
Sources have told The Gateway Pundit that hospital lobbyists in Michigan warned them that there would be severe political consequences if they continued pursuing reforms to end secret facility fees. The message was hard to miss: back away from the issue or hospitals would spend heavily against Republican lawmakers. House Republicans refused to budge.
Now, hospital interests are spending millions of dollars targeting Republicans. The Big Hospital “nonprofit” money dump, Michigan Citizens for Better Health, has spent $142,851 in Michigan House District 27 to oppose incumbent State Rep. Rylee Linting. They have spent an incredible $487,319 against upstart State Rep. candidate Laura Perry in District 31 and $370,819 against incumbent State Rep. Steve Frisbee in District 44. They also spent $35,998 in District 46 to oppose incumbent State Rep. Kathy Schmaltz.
This is an effort to make lawmakers think twice before challenging a lucrative and deeply frustrating billing practice.
Facility fees are charges hospitals can add to a patient’s bill simply because a doctor’s office or outpatient clinic is owned by a hospital system. A patient may visit the same doctor, receive the same care and sit in the same examination room, only to face a higher bill after the practice changes ownership.
In some cases, patients receive one bill for the medical professional who treated them and another for the facility where the treatment occurred. These charges can appear even when the patient never sets foot inside a hospital.
Most patients do not know about the fee when they schedule an appointment. Many do not learn about it until the bill arrives.
That is why these fees deserve greater transparency and scrutiny. Families should know what they will be charged before receiving care. They should not be surprised by an additional bill bearing little relationship to the service they received.
Michigan House Speaker Matt Hall and elected Republicans have been willing to confront that system on behalf of Michigan families even if it means taking flak from the special interest machine to do so.
That takes political courage because lowering health care costs is easy to support in theory but much harder in practice. Every unnecessary charge is revenue for some well-connected insider. Every reform that saves patients money threatens an established financial interest.
When lawmakers try to change the system, those interests can hire lobbyists, finance advertising campaigns and apply enormous political pressure.
This is why meaningful health care reform so often stalls.
Politicians from both parties campaign on affordability. They promise to stand up for patients and bring down costs. But voters rarely see what happens after a serious proposal is introduced and the special interests begin working behind the scenes.
The pressure starts quietly. Lobbyists request meetings. Warnings are delivered.
Lawmakers are told that reform could threaten health care access or create unintended consequences. If those arguments do not stop the proposal, the political spending begins. Michigan is now seeing that process in public.
The hospital lobby’s campaign should not intimidate Republicans. It should strengthen their resolve. It should also encourage them to explain clearly why they are being targeted. Hospitals are not entitled to avoid scrutiny simply because they are powerful, politically connected or capable of spending millions of dollars.
Families are already struggling with the cost of groceries, housing, utilities and insurance. They should not have to decipher a confusing medical bill to determine why a routine appointment suddenly became much more expensive.
These Michigan Republicans deserve credit for recognizing that health care affordability requires more than speeches. It requires confronting the practices and special interests that make care more expensive. Leadership is not measured by how many powerful interests applaud. It is measured by whether elected officials are willing to withstand opposition in order to deliver results for the people they represent.
The campaign against House Republicans should therefore be seen for what it is: confirmation that their effort to expose secret facility fees threatens the Obamacare status quo that has empowered the hospital conglomerates while crushing the patients.
Zelensky Says Trump Decided To License Ukraine To Produce Patriot Interceptor Missiles
September 25, 2026
It’s the second time Zelensky announces the Patriot license
Once again, the ‘Patriot licenses’ hit the headlines.
Once again, Kiev regime leader Volodymyr Zelensky announces that US president Donald J. Trump will license Ukraine to produce Patriot interceptor missiles ‘domestically’.
This time, Zelensky guarantees, the decision is ‘final’.
BREAKING – Zelensky says Trump made ‘final decision’ to give Ukraine Patriot licencehttps://t.co/j4lHzYqt3T
Let’s suppose for a moment, for the sake of argument, that we believe in Zelensky: a series of questions arises.
In the foot of a post made by his social media team, he says that Ukraine ‘will receive licenses to produce Patriot missiles’. Not ‘has received licenses.’
So, it’s something to happen in the unspecified future – maybe even only after the war ends.
Besides that, to build a factory that builds missiles is a super complex task that is likely to take years, even if everything runs without a hitch.
But realistically, how can Ukraine build this factory in the present state of affairs?
Ukraine has had all its ports disrupted for the last 60 days, the power generation and energy grid hang by a thread, logistics centers destroyed, its steel industry ‘is no more’ according to top CEO, and in the last few days, a multitude of internet providers ‘are leaving the chat’ with jet-propelled Geran drone strikes.
“Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Friday that US President Donald Trump told him he would allow Ukraine to produce advanced Patriot air defense missiles, after a series of reversals on the issue.
[…] During his latest visit to the United States this week, Zelenskyy renewed calls for air defense support, and for the Patriots, which remain the only system reliably able to counter Russia’s powerful ballistic missiles.
‘At our last meeting, President Trump emphasized to me that yes, I have made a final decision. Ukraine will receive licenses for the production of Patriot missiles’, Zelenskyy said in a voice note to journalists.”
Vladimir Zelensky claimed that US President Donald Trump told him at their latest meeting that he has finally decided to grant Kiev a license to produce Patriot interceptors:https://t.co/S7UnJHMYCwpic.twitter.com/iTcUSVhFYK
“In July, Trump said it would be ‘pretty cool’ to grant Ukraine the licenses, before backtracking, saying the United States should be ‘very careful’ before granting Ukraine authorization. Even if the licenses are granted, establishing industrial capacity would require more than a year and would not meet Kiev’s immediate needs.”
BREAKING: New Jersey’s Democrat Lt. Governor Dale Caldwell Resigns
September 25, 2026
New Jersey Lieutenant Governor Dale Caldwell resigned on Friday after an investigation revealed he sexually harassed a woman.
New Jersey’s Democrat Governor Mikie Sherrill called on Caldwell to resign on Thursday evening.
“These violations substantiated in the investigation reflect a pattern of behavior that does not meet the standards of this Administration. The ethical lapses persisted despite multiple warnings and trainings. The substantiated finding of sexual harassment is extremely troubling. I’ve seen firsthand how a hostile culture can undermine everyone’s ability to succeed. It’s insidious and ruptures the trust within an organization,” Mikie Sherrill said on Thursday.
“Leaders have an obligation to make sure everyone in an organization is bought into the mission and able to succeed. I take that responsibility incredibly seriously. My goal as Governor is to empower our hardworking public servants, so they can remain focused on serving our state,” she said.
Today, I’m announcing the conclusion and findings of an independent investigation into allegations regarding Lieutenant Governor Dale Caldwell. The investigation found that the Lieutenant Governor engaged in serious, repeated violations of state policy and failed to uphold the…
The investigation into Caldwell was sparked by an anonymous letter sent in May.
According to a 61-page report, Caldwell repeatedly made romantic advances toward a female staffer’s friend and after he was rejected, he made sexually charged comments to the staffer.
The staffer was so frightened that she avoided Caldwell.
The investigators also found that Caldwell tried to secure a promotion for an employee with whom he was romantically involved without properly disclosing the relationship.
Caldwell also abused his position by bringing uninvited personal guests to events without paying or obtaining the proper ethical clearance.
Dale Caldwell denied the allegations but he resigned on Friday anyway.
“I’m not resigning because of the report,” Caldwell told the New York Times. “It’s false. I’m resigning because I don’t want to be a distraction to the administration.”
“I’m supportive of the Sherrill administration,” he said. “I want her to be as successful as possible.”
