This latest attack is the second in just four days.
In the game of ‘proxy groups in the Middle East’, Iran arms and equips the Yemeni Houthis, who in turn arm and equip the Somali pirates.
This has transformed the crude attacks of a decade ago into much more dangerous affairs, with pirates much better armed and reportedly using satellite tracking intel to chase their prey.

It sounds like news from the Middle Ages, but it isn’t. Pirates seized the tanker Sibu 1 in the Gulf of Aden with 20 people on board, including 16 Indian nationals, Hindustan Times reports.
“Six armed pirates hijacked the Eritrean-flagged M.T. Sibu 1 on Thursday about 136 nautical miles (252 kilometers) east of al-Mukalla, Yemen, and took it toward Somalia’s Puntland coast.
[…] The Sibu 1, managed by the UAE-based Qatrat Alnada Almasi Ship Management, was sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury Department last year for allegedly belonging to an Iranian ‘shadow fleet’ used to transport petroleum products seeking to evade U.S. sanctions.”

“The tanker had 20 crew members aboard: 16 Indians, one Syrian, one Sudanese, and one Iraqi. The nationality of one crew member was not immediately known. The vessel’s previous port of departure and intended destination remained unclear.
The hijacking came three days after pirates seized the Lutuf, a Cameroon-flagged general cargo vessel, off Somalia’s coast. The vessel had 10 crew aboard, including six Indians, a Turkish national, a Georgian national and two Serbian security guards, according to maritime tracking reports.”
“Years after a global naval campaign largely curbed the scourge of piracy, experts worry that the conflict in Iran — along with other factors, like regional rivalries and economic difficulties for local fishermen — is setting the stage for a comeback.
In the first five months of the year, more than 17 piracy-related incidents were documented across Somali waters and the Gulf of Aden, including the hijacking of at least three commercial ships and five dhow boats, according to the Center for Maritime Security.
Mr. Hashi, the local ports official, said that six ships are currently being held by Somali pirates, including the two seized this week. Across those ships, he added, more than 100 crew members are being held hostage.”

Fulani herdsmen attacked Bin Per, a remote Christian village in Kumbun District, Mangu LGA, Plateau State, roughly 45 kilometers northeast of Jos, on the night of August 18, 2026. Attackers came on foot, breaking into homes and shooting villagers as they slept. At least 24 people were killed, most of them women and children. The Nigerian Army, when called, did not arrive until after the attackers had already left the area.
Shadrach Ayuba, a village watchman and member of the Cochin Church Binter Regional Church Council in Boi, was on vigilante duty between 11 p.m. and midnight when gunfire broke out. He said he heard the attackers speaking the Fulani language as he tried to flee.
Ayuba had little choice but to flee because the security forces defending Christian villages are armed with either homemade muskets or sticks. Although the Fulani came on foot in this particular attack, they often arrive on motorcycles in numbers as large as 200, armed with AK-47s, leaving village watchmen no match for them.
Currently, there is a bill in the Nigerian National Assembly that would allow state governments to create their own police forces to defend Christian villages. It has passed both the House of Representatives and the Senate and is awaiting ratification by state legislatures. But as of right now, the watchmen are unarmed. The best they can do is observe the attackers and then try to race back to the village to alert others to escape to the jungle and hide.
A bullet struck him in the leg as he ran, but he continued on foot, applying pressure to the wound as he made his way toward a bridge crossing a stream between Binter and Afer village. Hearing footsteps behind him, he hid in a cornfield and then in thick bush before swimming across the river to reach Afer, where residents put him on a motorcycle to a clinic.
During the attack, gunmen entered Ayuba’s house, where his wife and four children were sleeping. His daughter escaped, but his three sons, Pamret, 13; Fwanshak, 9; and Kespan, 1, were killed along with their mother, Nanbam, 30.
Ayuba said he could not get information by phone about his family’s condition from the hospital until the following morning, when he was told that his wife and three sons had been killed. “There was no any security all throughout the attack,” he said.
A second survivor, whose name was not given, said the attack began around 11:30 p.m. while he was off duty from the village’s rotating watchman system and had stepped outside. He saw a large group of armed men approaching, hid on a nearby farm, and heard rapid gunfire moments later as the attackers entered his compound and opened fire inside the room where his family slept.
After the gunfire subsided, he returned to his compound and found his daughter shot through the forehead in her sleeping position and his two sons shot in the back in the living room.
Of the six members of his household, three children were killed. His wife was wounded while shielding two of the children with her body. The survivor said this is what allowed his youngest son, Nathan, and another son, Gabriel, to survive. “If God had not intervened, it might have been all of us, six people, would be killed,” he said.
He and a neighbor who had also been on watchman duty went from house to house afterward, checking on residents. He said most of the dead were found inside their rooms, with one exception found on a nearby farm.
A village pastor, addressing the community the morning after the attack, said, “This morning we are mourning bitterly for the barbaric action that these people have taken on this community over the night.” He said 24 dead bodies lay before the community as he spoke and rejected characterizations of the violence as anything other than genocide: “As I’m speaking, people were denying that there’s no genocide, but see what is happening, see small children, innocent souls were being killed.”
He said the governor, the local government chairman, and ministers of the gospel had all condemned the attack, “yet there’s no any action and the issue is getting out of hand.”

A man in a creepy ‘Chucky’ doll mask accused of terrorizing and threatening women has been unmasked and identified by police.
Zymire Hughes, 22, is accused of chasing over a dozen people in Center City Philadelphia on the morning of August 15.
Hughes asked women, “Are you ready to die?” as he chased them.
One woman severely injured her leg while fleeing from Hughes.
Hughes is still at large, but he is facing charges of harassment, terroristic threats, simple assault, and intimidation.
The US Marshals are helping local law enforcement track down Hughes. The suspect may be in Southern California or Las Vegas, authorities warned.
“You think it’s funny to scare people? Well, get ready to get scared by us because we got the handcuffs, we got the jail cell, we got the Philly jury that’s going to tell you it’s not funny at all,” District Attorney Larry Krasner said on Thursday.
Philadelphia police say that they have identified the man accused of wearing a Chucky-style Halloween mask and terrorizing residents in Center City.
An arrest warrant has been issued for 22-year-old Zymire Hughes, police announced on Thursday.
Police say the masked man, now believed to be Hughes, was chasing people around City Hall in the early morning hours. They say he was likely doing it for social media fame.
“I believe that he was doing this purely for social media content – either A, for his own sick personal amusement, or B, he had plans of posting it online at some point, and possibly monetizing it,” said Philadelphia Police Capt. Jason Smith.

Hasan Piker is performing as part of the Fear&Live West Coast Tour.
The event is described as a live stage version of the popular podcast Fear&Live “featuring unscripted banter, debates, and audience interaction.”
Following the political assassination of Charlie Kirk almost a year ago, the song “We Are Charlie Kirk” went viral as people shared tributes to the young husband and father murdered because of his views.
While on stage, Piker began singing the song mocking and trivializing Kirk’s murder, especially so close to the anniversary.
Mike Cernovich shared a video of Piker’s disturbing behavior, noting, “This is for those claiming ‘there’s no difference between Republicans and Democrats.’”

Newsmax‘s Carl Higbie this week blasted the Democratic Socialists of America.
“This is the Democrat party. This is who Democrats in America are electing. This is why the party is so much less popular than it was eight years ago,” Higbie said.
Higbie showed a news clip of the decline in the popularity of the Democrat party, dropping significantly from 2018 to 2026.
“They keep finding out the lesson the same way over and over. It’s like we told you so yesterday with Mamdani where he you know, wants to tax all of these people,” Higbie said.
“Even the Democrats in his own city council who are with him, are furious with him,” Higbie said.
Higbie showed a clip of a New York City Council member disapproving of Mamdani’s administration publishing over 900 thousand names, along with the addresses of people who own homes in New York City.
“I told you this was gonna happen. He told you this was gonna. This was not a secret. He said it from his campaign podiums. This is the warmth of collectivism that he was talking about, yet we still have these morons voting for the same candidates,” Higbie said.
“It’s crazy to me that this party slides further and further left, continuing to get elected,” Higbie commented.
“The people who are running this far-left slide to socialism are a bunch of wealthy brats,” Higbie said.
“They certainly don’t care about you. They have been spoon-fed everything their entire life. Most of them have never had a real job or a career, or were ever punched in the face, or hit in the face with a dodgeball,” Higbie commented.
Higbie showed clips of Bernie Sanders criticizing billionaires and claiming they don’t pay a fair share of taxes.
“One percent pay 40 percent of the taxes. That’s pretty fair to me. Actually, it’s not at all,” Higbie said.
“One of the heads of the Democrat Socialists of America we just found out is from a multimillion-dollar family earned by capitalism, who bought their son, the DSA guy, a $1.5 million pad. They also have an $11 thousand a month mansion in Florida, but this guy wants to tear down capitalism,” Higbie said.
“Anybody who even considers voting for these clowns, just notice that they are you know, still flying around on private jets while telling you and I that we can’t have a gas stove, or even gas cars. They are gonna take your tires in California,” Higbie commented.

Podcaster Joe Rogan had a pointed warning for Democrats if they want to escape their woke reputation. According to Rogan, they need to provide concrete specifics on where their policies went wrong and why they were wrong to support them.
During the podcast, Rogan spoke with popular English podcaster and YouTuber Chris Williamson.
Williamson: Have you been tracking AOC’s pivot recently?
Rogan: Well, she’s, uh, froze her eggs. I know about that. I think she got rid of the man…
Williamson: Called off the engagement, froze her eggs, has started posting ‘I’m on my way to do yoga,’ like…videos walking down the street.
Rogan: Good for her…looking hot. Maybe she’d be nicer that way.
Williamson: Well, she also said Woke 1.0 was crazy. Do you track this thing?
Rogan: I did. Which makes me think that you’re willing to change your opinions based on public reaction. I don’t like that.
Cause if you really thought Defund the Police, and then you just ascribed it to Woke 1.0 was crazy. Well, how did it get you?
‘Cause it didn’t get me. How did it get you?
How did defund the police get you? Tell, give me your thoughts. How far out did you track the consequences of defunding the police? ‘Cause I immediately went to, you’re gonna have more crime ’cause no one’s gonna be able to stop the crime. We’re gonna be fu**ed. It’s gonna get scary.
And then you’re gonna want more police and saying defund the police is just gonna make more police and more control and more totalitarian government. Like, what did you think defund the police meant?
Everyone’s gonna like eat mushrooms and we’re all gonna like be flower children. What did you think? Because there’s no police around, no one’s gonna do crimes. Everyone’s gonna be great. Like, what was the thought process? ‘Cause if you’re just saying that because everybody’s like, “That’s fu**ing crazy,” and enough people said that’s crazy, you’re like, “I think they think it’s crazy.”
Williamson: The wind’s blowing in a different direction, time for me to move.
Rogan: Or, have you changed your opinion? And if you did change your opinion, what were you thinking back then?
Williamson: Yeah, I mean, these are the questions I think that we always want to ask. You always wanna ask that. That being said, to steel man what she was saying, or to try and put it in the best light, what she was saying, I think, the rhetoric got, what did she say? The rhetoric got like out of hand or something.
Woke 1.0 was crazy. And she said that there was basically an opportunity to expand the Overton window, talking about a time where people were, to be honest, it sounds like a bit more pliable. Like, oh, because people are at home, people seem a little bit more, like, you know that line, never let a good crisis go to waste?
It feels a little bit like that, maybe opportunistic. We can expand the Overton window. And then we realized, oh, like we overshot on here a little bit. That was a little bit crazy, but, there are conversations being had now that wouldn’t have been able to be had had we have not expanded it during that time. I go, the ends justifying the means with stuff like that doesn’t wash to me. And then reversing your position or changing your position or sanitizing it, which is probably closer, right? We said that thing, but we didn’t really mean that. You know, we just got a little—
Rogan: There’s a way out of it for them, but they have to be honest. There’s a— if you want us to take you seriously, you have to say how you fu**ed up.
You have to say how you fu**ed up, and you have to say what you really think about how you fu**ed up. You have to be honest, and you have to be authentic. We have to know that you are embarrassed by your choices, and that you kind of went with the hive, admittedly.
You have to say that. If you don’t say that, then you’re full of sh**. And if you’re full of sh** now, you’re gonna get more and more full of sh** over time. And that’s how politicians get soured. That’s how they get compromised.
A lot of them come in at— A lot of them come into office very opportunistic, or very idealistic, rather. They have these wonderful ideas about like, this is the great experiment in self-government, and I’m a part of it now, and I’m really gonna help my constituents, and I’m gonna do great, and I’m gonna really, they’re gonna love me ’cause I’m gonna really make their lives better.
And then once you get in there and you realize how dirty this all is, you realize, you know, you see Nancy Pelosi’s worth $400 million, like what? And then they tell you how to vote, and if you don’t vote that way, they fu**ing ostracize you, but you wanna keep your career.
So you start making little compromises here and little compromises there, and you start bullshi**ing and you start lying. And once you start lying, you can’t see the truth anymore.
As soon as you start lying, you don’t see the truth. It’s not in front of you anymore because you’re, what, concerned about that lie. So those lies are in your head, and who you’re trying to project yourself as, that’s what’s in your head, and you don’t get to see.
Like, why is this system so fu**ed? What can we do to unweave it while we still allow corporations to profit? Like, how can we put a cap on that to make sure that they don’t get incentivized to break the law in order to supply more capital to their shareholders?
Like, what can we do to balance this out in an even way? Like, that’s what we should all be thinking, not how can I make the most fu**ing money while I’m in Congress. And that’s what a lot of them are thinking because everybody else is thinking that. And you look at the fu**ing thing, and it’s red, blue, red, blue. They’re all insider trading and they’re all rich as sh** and they all make $170,000 a year.
Like Ilhan Omar, where she like, she was estimated to be, her accountant said she was worth $30 million, and then be like, what? How the fu** are you worth $30 million? And like, ‘oh, it was a mistake. I’m actually, I’m not even worth $100,000.’ Like literally, it went from one to the other. And she attributed it to an accounting error.
Williamson: Like— That’s a big accounting error.
Rogan: How mad would you be at your accountant if he told you, ‘Bro, you’re killing it right now. You’re worth about $30 million.’
They’re all dirt. Her and her husband had a winery and it immediately got shut down. It wasn’t making any money. There’s a lot of these like fugazi companies that these people get involved with and they start making money.
You know Joe DeRosa, the comic? Joe DeRosa used to work for the Senate in Texas.
He’s a media guy. And he was like, you realize when you’re around these people what’s actually happening. He’s like, they’re all getting donations from this and donations from that and gifts from that and get— and it’s always managing these relationships with all these money people.
And that’s what’s going on with all these fu**ers. They’re not in there trying to like make sure that their county’s doing great and have access to clean water and fu**ing good schools.
No, they’re all just pretending that they’re doing that. And what they’re doing is they’re making money. And maybe they’re kind of sort of servicing the community a little bit. But the real thing, if you want to be a fu**ing top-flight congressperson, you know, you gotta make some money.
Williamson: Well, think about what would have happened if Kamala had won. Would AOC have been talking about woke 1.0 was crazy, or would that have been a continuation of, well, look, we put the policies out, people like the policies? How much of this is a reversal of the position because it wasn’t effective?
