Federal prosecutors have convened a rarely used special grand jury to investigate attendance, truancy and graduation practices inside Washington, D.C.’s scandal-plagued public school system.

The sprawling investigation reportedly centers on how the Democrat-run District supervises and protects young people, and whether its schools are accurately documenting student attendance and awarding diplomas.

Teachers and other employees from several D.C. Public Schools campuses have been contacted by federal prosecutors and questioned about student absences, graduation practices and how attendance records are maintained, according to 7News.

Some of those called before the panel are connected to Ballou High School, which was at the center of a massive graduation scandal less than a decade ago.

At least one school employee has already testified before the special grand jury, while others are reportedly scheduled to appear.

A law enforcement official told Fox News the investigation is about “safeguarding youth in the District.”

Preliminary data reviewed by 7News shows that 50.4% of D.C. students in grades nine through 12 were chronically truant during the 2025–2026 school year, meaning they missed at least 10% of the school year without an accepted excuse.

Meanwhile, 57% of D.C. high school students were chronically absent for either excused or unexcused reasons.

The numbers at several individual high schools are even more staggering:

  • Ballou High School: 84.4% chronically truant
  • Anacostia High School: 84.1%
  • Dunbar High School: 79.6%
  • Eastern High School: 78.5%
  • H.D. Woodson High School: 77.6%
  • Roosevelt High School: 72.7%

At Ballou, more than eight out of every ten students were classified as chronically truant.

Yet Ballou reported that 136 of the 153 students in its 2025 graduating cohort received diplomas, a graduation rate of 88.9%. That was a jump of more than ten percentage points from the previous year.

The graduation and truancy figures cover different student populations, and the publicly available data does not establish that chronically truant students were among those who graduated. But the apparent disconnect is certain to raise questions—particularly given Ballou’s ugly history.

In 2018, a city investigation found that Ballou had graduated students who had missed too many classes or improperly completed makeup courses.

The scandal quickly spread beyond Ballou. Investigators ultimately found that approximately one-third of D.C.’s entire 2017 graduating class had failed to meet the required standards for graduation.

The FBI opened an investigation at the time, but the probe apparently went nowhere. City officials claimed they subsequently tightened enforcement of attendance and graduation rules.

Eight years later, the truancy crisis is still raging.

During the 2023–2024 school year, nearly 16,000 DCPS students, roughly one-third of the school system’s K–12 enrollment, were classified as truant.

Pirro has repeatedly connected widespread truancy with juvenile crime, curfew violations and the violent “teen takeovers” that have terrorized residents and businesses across the capital.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Pirro announced in May that her office would aggressively prosecute parents who enable minors to violate the District’s curfew laws.

“We’re coming for you, and we’re coming for your parents,” Pirro warned.

Pirro also sought school records for students suspected of repeatedly skipping school and violating curfew. According to The Washington Post, District officials did not voluntarily provide the requested records.

Now a federal special grand jury is asking the questions.

Far-left D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser’s office responded by saying city officials were focused on welcoming students back for the new school year and insisted that the District makes its school data public.

But publishing horrifying numbers is not the same as fixing the problem.

For years, D.C.’s Democrat establishment has thrown money at failing institutions while students disappear from classrooms, academic standards are questioned and juvenile crime spills into the streets.

ADHD “Superpower” or New Psychiatric Drug Pipeline to Target Women

Republished with permission from AbleChild

It is ironic that in the same week that the Lindsay Clancy murder trial was wrapping up, the New York Post would run an article about moms being diagnosed with the alleged mental disorder ADHD. And regardless of the outcome, the Clancy trial, if anything, has shined a very bright light on the over-drugging of women as a method of behavioral “treatment,” making the Post’s article completely tone-deaf.

Surprisingly, of all the subjective psychiatric mental disorders Clancy had been diagnosed with, ADHD was not one of them. But like Clancy’s diagnoses of depression, anxiety, bipolar I and II when it comes to ADHD, there just is no objective identifiable abnormality. The fact is there is no blood test, scan, or biomarker that identifies any sort of ADHD brain malfunction that can be targeted for treatment. It is also a fact that all ADHD diagnosing depends on verbal communication about personal history and behavior.

The gist of the Post’s article is that women are apparently learning from their own daughters struggle and according to one mother, “it kind of felt like my own childhood was being repeated in front of me.” Maybe. Sounds normal, but there isn’t any real difference in adult women and young girls diagnosing of ADHD other than one is current behavior and the other is historical.

According to the American Psychiatric Association’s (APA) Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, (DSM-5), children ages 16 and under must meet 6 out of 9 symptoms such as running around, climbing on furniture, unable to sit still, missing school assignments, disorganized bedrooms, not paying attention in class, interrupting teachers or engaging in physically dangerous play.

Adult women, on the other hand, 17 and older, must meet only 5 out of 9 symptoms like restlessness, leg jiggling, a drive to always stay busy, missing work deadlines, struggling to balance chores/bills, losing focus, impulsive spending, interrupting conversations and making hasty decisions.

There you go, ladies, meet any five of these extraordinarily subjective behaviors and, voila, you have the mental disorder ADHD. In fact, the author of the article writes, “the reality is, ADHD can be a superpower…” One could argue that the reality is not who experiences these behaviors, but rather who doesn’t lose focus, spend too much money on things we really don’t need, and interrupt when others are talking? One could argue that the person who doesn’t exhibit these completely normal behaviors might be on some other psychiatric drug that renders the patient feeling nothing, allowing for any behavior to be appropriate.

Nevertheless, even though there is no malfunction of the brain that is ADHD, it is one of the top psychiatric diagnoses and drugging is the go-to “treatment.” Of course, the word “treatment” must be used lightly because there is no targeted abnormality but, rather, the chemical drug will change someone’s behavior. For example, methylphenidate (Ritalin, Concerta and Focalin) is a Schedule II controlled substance which means it carries a high potential for abuse and severe psychological or physical dependence. These stimulants reportedly help improve focus, reduce impulsivity and control hyperactive behavior in children and adults. According to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), like cocaine, “these drugs are considered dangerous.”

On the flip side, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) report that “the mode of action in man is not completely understood…there is neither specific evidence which clearly establishes the mechanism whereby Ritalin produces its mental and behavioral effects in children, nor conclusive evidence regarding how these effects relate to the condition of the central nervous system.”  In other words, the FDA hasn’t got a clue how the drug “works” as “treatment” for the alleged ADHD.

There are, however, very real serious side effects associated with ADHD “treatments” that may need to be considered as part of that whole “superpower” thing, including irritability, anxiety, restlessness, sleep disorder, aggression, depression, abnormal behavior, confused state, nervousness, hallucinations, anger, suicidal ideation, altered mood, mania and abnormal thinking to name a few.

Then there is that other sticky matter of women who also may have been diagnosed with any number of other alleged mental disorders, like Lindsay Clancy, including depression, bipolar and anxiety. Are these women now embracing ADHD drugs on top of other mind-altering drug “treatments?”

Given the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimate that 20 million women in the U.S. take drugs as “treatment” for depression, it seems possible that there could be some serious crossover cocktail “treatments.” Women make up more than half of the population using antipsychotics and one in five women take an antianxiety medication.

Given these staggering drugging data, it seems impossible that there are any women left in the U.S. who aren’t drugged for some alleged mental disorder and, adding the alleged ADHD to the psychiatric assault on women, makes it a perfect diagnosing storm. The nation is already dealing with tens of millions of women on cocktails of mind-altering drugs. Is it necessary to add the alleged ADHD drug “treatment” to the cocktail?

Presumably so. One woman interviewed for the New York Post article reported “there is no shame in needing help to feel like the best version of yourself.”  Perhaps. But Lindsay Clancy wanted to be the best version of herself for her kids and sought psychiatric help. Five psychiatric diagnoses and 32 prescriptions of 13 mind-altering drugs later, would anyone seriously agree that Clancy was “helped” to be the “best version” of herself by the cocktails of psychiatric drugs prescribed?

President Trump Vows to Report NBC’s Kristen Welker to FCC for “Purposeful Inaccuracy” on His Near-Perfect Endorsement Record

President Trump Vows to Report NBC’s Kristen Welker to FCC for “Purposeful Inaccuracy” on His Near-Perfect Endorsement Record

President Trump Vows to Report NBC’s Kristen Welker to FCC for “Purposeful Inaccuracy” on His Near-Perfect Endorsement Record
August 31, 2026

President Donald J. Trump, on Sunday morning, launched a blistering Truth Social broadside against NBC’s Kristen Welker after the “Meet the Fake Press” hostess claimed the President has had “mixed results” with his midterm endorsements.

According to a Fox News endorsement tracker, all 24 Trump-backed Senate candidates won their Republican primaries. Trump-endorsed House candidates won 214 of 218 races, an approximately 98% success rate.

Welker made the comment during a pre-show hit on NBC’s Washington affiliate WRC-TV, not even on the main Meet the Press broadcast.

She acknowledged Trump “loom[s] large” over the midterms, then immediately undercut him: “He’s had some mixed results, but most recently, his pick of Senator Darline Graham… was successful.”

President Trump was not having it. He wrote on Truth Social:

Kristen Welker, the Unpopular “Hostess” of the once great Meet the Press, now considered Meet the Fake Press, just stated that Donald Trump has “mixed results” on his Endorsements of Candidates, when the recent WINS of Darline Graham and Mike Mazzei, stand at 100% for the U.S. Senate, and 98% for the U.S. House, recently and over the longterm.

How can anyone be allowed to say this, working for freely given Public Airwaves? Results are attached. Because of this purposeful inaccuracy, she will be reported to the FCC for rebuke or punishment.

Unfortunately, she is not the only one. The Radical Left News is going out of their way to harass, demean, and libel anything “TRUMP.”

Their new weapon is to say that my 99% SUCCESS Rate on Endorsements, 100% on Senatorial Endorsements (Many of whom were not even given a shot of winning until I Endorsed!), is either a mixed result, or not very good. In actuality, it is, without question, the strongest Endorsement in the History of Politics.

If it were not, I would be the first to admit it. Darline Graham’s run for the Senate was the biggest story in all of Politics, because she wasn’t expected to win, and then, when I Endorsed her, and she easily won, the story of her Victory was hardly covered by anybody.

Likewise, the future Governor of Oklahoma, who was behind in every Poll, I Endorsed him, he won, and the story was barely covered! The Press is a Disgrace to our Nation, and I hope that Chairman Brendan Carr, and the fine people of his Commission, will take this Threat to our Country very seriously.

Thank you for your attention to this very important matter of Fake Polls and Commentary!

NBC immediately circled the wagons around Welker.

“Kristen is one of the best in the business and we stand by her,” an NBC spokesperson told Fox News.

The fake news media spent years falsely insisting that Trump had lost his grip on Republican voters.

Now his candidates are winning virtually every congressional primary, and NBC still calls the results “mixed.”

You simply cannot make this up.

Fulani Roadside Ambushes and Farm Destruction Continue Amid Nigeria’s Christian Persecution

Fulani Roadside Ambushes and Farm Destruction Continue Amid Nigeria’s Christian Persecution
August 31, 2026

Fulani bandits blocked the Gusau-Funtua Federal Highway near Unguwar Chida village in Tsafe Local Government Area, Zamfara State, at about 4:05 p.m. on August 25. The attackers opened fire on two commercial vehicles, an unregistered Sharon car and a Sokoto State Transport Authority bus. Eight travelers were killed, eight were abducted, and nine others sustained gunshot wounds.

Hours later, at about 6:45 p.m., the same group attacked Magazu village in Tsafe LGA, wounding a 35-year-old resident with a stray bullet. Police and military forces pursued the attackers and reported killing 17 suspected Fulani bandits in a subsequent gun battle near the Funtua-Gusau highway, according to a statement from Police Public Relations Officer DSP Yazid Abubakar.

In a separate attack at about 9 p.m. on August 28, a woman, Mrs. Helen John, was killed by suspected Fulani assailants in Batok 2 Village, Riyom Local Government Area, Plateau State. Nigerian troops responding to reports of sporadic gunfire discovered her body. A preliminary investigation indicated that the assailants had laid an ambush, concealing themselves in a maize farm near her residence before attacking her as she performed household chores. Her body was handed over to community leaders, while security forces began efforts to track down and arrest the assailants.

A third ambush, reported by a stringer in Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State, followed the same pattern.

At about 8:00 a.m. on August 25, 2026, suspected Fulani herdsmen laid an ambush along a road in Miango, Bassa LGA, approximately 30 kilometers west of Jos. They attacked two Christian villagers, Joseph Rugu, 45, and Chayi Demi, 40, as they returned from a funeral, killing both with machetes.

In a separate incident at approximately 1:00 a.m. on August 26, Fulani militias entered Zherenvi, Rewienku, and destroyed 19 hectares of tomato, cabbage, and green bean crops, as well as more than 20 hectares of cornfields, using machetes and other means.

Fulani herders often use their cattle to destroy crops in the fields of Christian farmers or use machetes to destroy vegetables, leaving Christian families with nothing to eat.

In a press release signed by National Publicity Secretary Joseph Chudu Yonkpa, the Irigwe Youth Movement (IYM) characterized the destruction as an attempt to weaponize poverty against Irigwe farmers, who were already facing high costs for fertilizer and other agricultural inputs.

The IYM called on Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) in Plateau State, the Nigerian Police, Operation Rainbow, and other security agencies to investigate, arrest those responsible, and ensure that affected farmers receive compensation. It also called on the Executive Chairman of Bassa LGA, Hon. Dr. Joshua Sunday Riti, the Plateau State Emergency Management Agency (PLASEMA), and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to conduct an independent investigation into the extent of the damage and provide humanitarian relief.

The group urged Irigwe residents not to take the law into their own hands and to allow security agencies to continue their work.

On August 25, farm destruction in Nzhwerenvi Rewienku Village affected 11 identified farmers, with individual losses ranging from one to five hectares of cabbage and two to 2.5 hectares of tomatoes. Residents identified four suspected perpetrators. On August 26, the destruction of cornfields affected seven farmers, with individual losses ranging from two to four hectares.

Rev. David Rabo, a 56-year-old Christian resident and church elder from Nyang’o, Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State, provided the account of the August 25 ambush near Miango as a firsthand witness in the affected community. He is affiliated with ECWA Rotsu, an Evangelical Church Winning All congregation, though he clarified he is not the resident pastor there.

Rabo described his community as agrarian, with residents engaged in both dry-season and rain-season farming and few other sources of employment aside from a handful of local institutions, including ECWA Secondary School and a rest home. He said the community is Christian and that residents are “doing well in serving God,” though he said some have grown desperate in their faith, having “met some people who think that if we have a God, why is it that the God is not protecting us.”

On security, Rabo said “the issue of security in our area is just something that is worrisome,” adding that the community has cried out to the government “that there is no help.” He said soldiers are scattered in the area but that “these killings continue,” noting three people were killed within the span of a week, including Joseph Rugu, 45, and Chayi Demi, 40, who had traveled to a burial in a neighboring village and were ambushed while returning home at around 8 a.m. He said the victims were “ambushed, shot, macheted,” and that their bodies were not recovered until the following morning.

Rabo attributed the attack to Fulani assailants, though he acknowledged there were no eyewitnesses to the ambush itself, saying the identification was “based on history and pattern.” He said his community has no conflict with any other neighboring tribe, only with Fulani herdsmen who “leave their place, come and attack us.” He said the responsible parties live in Fulani settlements “north and south” of his community, near the Bassa area, and said the same attackers destroyed roughly 11 farms of grown maize the same night.

Asked about motive, Rabo said the disputes center on land, with Fulani herdsmen claiming the community’s “soil, our water, our grass is good for their cattle.” He said this justification has at times been stated directly. “Sometimes they say it. They are living among us.”

Rabo said he was not aware of Fulani settlements engaging in violence against one another over grazing land. All of the violence has been directed against Christians. Because Christian communities have no weapons, either the government will have to intervene, disarm the Fulani, and protect Christians, or God will have to change the hearts of the Fulani.

In this vein, Rabo said, “There are some that you need them to say, ‘This thing, we don’t want it.’”

Bezos-Owned Washington Post Publishes CLASSIFIED Pentagon Orders Book During Active Combat With Iran — Pentagon Calls It a Crime and a “Betrayal of the Force”
August 31, 2026

The far-left Washington Post just did what the legacy media always does when American troops are in harm’s way and a Republican is running the Pentagon.

They published material from a classified Secretary of Defense Orders Book, the document that maps warships, aircraft, weapons systems, and personnel worldwide, and dressed it up as a hit piece on Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.

The Washington Post reported Sunday that several senior military leaders warned War Secretary Pete Hegseth that maintaining a force of more than 50,000 American troops in the Middle East is unsustainable and could weaken the United States’ ability to respond to threats elsewhere.

The newspaper acknowledged that its reporting was based on information contained in the classified Aug. 14 edition of the Secretary of Defense Orders Book, or SDOB.

The classified orders book reportedly details the worldwide availability and allocation of American warships, aircraft, weapons systems, and military personnel. It also contains sensitive assessments submitted by America’s senior commanders.

According to the Post, some troops deployed to the Middle East were ordered to remain through September, while others could remain into 2027.

Four senior commanders reportedly submitted formal “non-concurs” expressing disagreement with the proposed extensions:

  • Adm. Daryl Caudle, Chief of Naval Operations
  • Gen. Alexus Grynkewich, Commander of U.S. European Command
  • Gen. Francis L. Donovan, Commander of U.S. Southern Command
  • Adm. Samuel Paparo, Commander of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command

A “non-concur” does not mean that a commander is refusing to follow an order. It records a commander’s professional disagreement while acknowledging that the order will still be executed.

Washington Post military affairs reporter Dan Lamothe eagerly amplified the purported contents of the classified document.

“Four-stars all non-concurring with prolonging operations against Iran as they are into 2027, per this Washington Post exclusive,” Lamothe wrote, before listing the four commanders.

But DataRepublican, whose real name is Jennica Pounds and who began serving as a Special Government Employee at the Department of War in July, fired back with a brutal response.

DataRepublican argued that the commanders’ assessments were not the most alarming part of the story. The real scandal, she said, was that someone apparently handed information from one of the Pentagon’s most sensitive force-allocation documents to the Washington Post.

DataRepublican wrote:

“Hello Mr. Lamothe,

Four generals’ analysis is not the important point here. The article says that the information comes from Aug. 14 Secretary of Defense Orders Book (SDOB).

As that article explains, the SDOB is classified and lays out the worldwide availability of warships, aircrafts, weapons systems, personnel, along with assessments from senior commanders. That includes which leaders “non-concurred” which you are amplifying.

This is one of the most serious leaks I have ever seen, and you are using this to score partisan points against Hegseth.

You and your miltwitter journalist sphere spent a whole week hammering a DOGE-affiliated analyst for refusing to leak sensitive documents, accusing her of violating “ethics.”

Perhaps the ethics were just arbitrary conveniences all along. Perhaps the professional code exists to protect the true raison d’etre that you and the rest of legacy Pentagon press corps exist by:

By your twisted morality, it’s fine to handle materials that might very well undermine an active war and publish whatever you’d like from them in order to score political points against Pete Hegseth. Just as long as you “disclose,” that makes it fine for WaPo to protect traitors running in our midst.

And in your personal case, “disclosing” apparently doesn’t extend to fellowships at CNAS and other engagement heavily funded by the military-industrial complex.

The United States is engaged in active combat operations. WaPo holds material that may very well undermine the safety of Americans in harms way. WaPo took routine discussion of a serious internal force-allocation problem, and elevated that into cheap partisan shots.

The one without ethics here is the entire staff of the Washington Post who did not immediately turn in this traitor as soon as they received the material.”

Sean Parnell, Assistant to the Secretary of War for Public Affairs, also hammered Lamothe and the Washington Post.

Parnell wrote:

“Publishing highly classified assessments from the Secretary’s orders book is a crime.

It’s a betrayal of the force. And much of what they’re publishing is inaccurate.

Of course, we demand candid military advice. Non-concurs are standard. The Secretary sees them constantly. That’s how you run a real military.

We are in great shape around the world. This story isn’t about readiness.

It’s TDS and PDS — they hate President Trump and Secretary Hegseth more than they love America.”

Lamothe responded by wrapping himself in the banner of “independent journalism.”

“Fact check: Independent journalism is not a crime,” Lamothe wrote. “It’s also especially important at a time when government officials are withholding key details and concerns about a war being fought on behalf of the American people with their taxpayer dollars.”

The Washington Post also defended its actions.

“We’re confident in our reporting, our sourcing and the constitutional protections that guarantee the rights of news organizations to publish information in the public interest that holds officials accountable,” Washington Post spokesperson Olivia Petersen said in a statement.

“The assertion that such publication is a crime is both incorrect and irresponsible.”

They always say “public interest” when the target is Trump or Hegseth. They never say “public interest” when the leak would embarrass a Democrat administration or expose how Biden’s team hid Abbey Gate documents in safes.

But the Post’s statement conveniently sidestepped the most important question: Who had access to the classified Secretary of Defense Orders Book, and who handed its contents to the newspaper?

The legal protections claimed by the Post do not automatically shield the government employee or military official who allegedly provided the classified information. That person could face serious criminal exposure if an investigation determines the disclosure was unauthorized.

Louisiana Senator John Kennedy says Senate Republicans have no money budgeted to defend Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in his Senate race and is looking to President Trump for help.

“We in the Senate don’t have the money budgeted for Texas,” Kennedy said in an interview with Fox News on Sunday.

”We need help from the President. The President says he has $850 million in his campaign accounts. That’s a lot of jack.”

Watch the clip below:

Paxton defeated four-term RINO Sen. John Cornyn in the May Republican runoff after receiving Trump’s endorsement yet the staunch opposition of the RINO establishment.

He will face off against Democratic state Rep. James Talarico in November.

Talarico, a far-left Democrat and Presbyterian seminarian, has previously said “God is non-binary,” argued that “the Bible is silent on abortion,” and described ICE as a “secret police force.”

The Democrat also holds a substantial fundraising advantage.

Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings through June 30 showed Paxton’s principal campaign committee with approximately $1.8 million in cash on hand, compared with roughly $21.5 million for Talarico.

Tracking data cited by CNN showed Democrats outspending Republicans approximately $31.5 million to $4.7 million on advertising since June.

Ken Paxton on His Senate Race in Texas, Blasts His Opponent James Talarico, “This Guy is Hiding his True Views That He Has Held for the Last Ten Years in the Texas House” – (VIDEO)

Talarico’s campaign is responsible for the majority of that Democratic spending.

Meanwhile, Paxton’s campaign had spent just over $150,000 during the same period.

The disparity follows an incredibly expensive Republican primary against Cornyn.

More than $120 million was reportedly spent on Republican advertising across both rounds, including significant spending by Cornyn-aligned groups against Paxton.

Meanwhile, the Senate Leadership Fund, which is aligned with Republican Senate leadership, had no independent-expenditure advertising planned in Texas earlier this summer.

Trump-aligned MAGA Inc. has reportedly accumulated a war chest exceeding $400 million but has yet to launch a major advertising campaign in the state.

Trump traveled to Houston on this week for an RNC fundraiser aimed at helping Paxton build up a war chest.

“We’re trying to get help from all over the country,” Paxton told Fox News.

An Emerson College poll recently showed Paxton leading by one point. The Cook Political Report currently rates the contest a toss-up.
